KARAMOKO STARS IN KIDS’ WIN OVER AJAX



CELTIC wonderkid Karamoko Demebele starred as the Under-14 side beat Ajax 2-1 to win the Marc Overmars tournament in Amsterdam.

The young Hoops were impressive throughout the competition as they beat SV Epe, FC Tokyo and Anderlecht on their way to lifting the trophy.

Dembele was included in the Team of the Tournament after the sort of performances that have brought talents scouts flooding to watch him in action.

The 14-year-old has played for the youth sides of both Scotland and England, the nation of his birth, this season.

Dembele, an attacking midfielder, is also eligible to play for the Ivory Coast, where his parents were born. The family moved to Glasgow when he was five years old.

The youngster hit the headlines with a brief substitute’s appearance at the age of 13 for the Parkhead Under-20 side in a Development League game against Hearts at Cappielow in September.

Celtic’s kid gloves Vincent Angelini also won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament prize.
