KASPER SCHMEICHEL won his 117th cap for Denmark last night – and the Celtic keeper won’t have had an easier game in his previous appearances.
The Danes romped to an impressive 6-0 win over battered Belarus in Hungary to sit level with Scotland at the top of their World Cup Group C with seven points.
However, Schmeichel and Co have a superior goal difference of five over Steve Clarke’s men who came back from a goal down to beat Greece 3-1 at Hampden to maintain their bid for a place in next summer’s football extravaganza in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The 38-year-old Hoops keeper was hardly tested against the pointless Belarussians who play the Scots in Glasgow on Sunday with a 5pm kick-off.

THOU SHALT NOT PASS…Kasper Schmeichel in control.
The Danes had 24 attempts at goal in a lopsided encounter that saw Victor Froholdt open the scoring after just 14 minutes and Rasmus Rasmus Højlund, on loan at Napoli from Manchester United, getting his first of his double five minutes later.
The bustling frontman made it 3-0 and Patrick Dorgu hit the fourth just before the interval.
The visitors coasted through the second-half with Anders Dreyer netting twice. Manager Brian Riemer elected to leave former Celtic fans’ favourite Matt O’Riley on the bench on this occasion.
They now face Greece in Copenhagen on Sunday an hour after Scotland have played Belarus.
The outcome of the section looks like coming down to a thrilling Scots v Danes climax in the last game in Glasgow on Tuesday November 18.
