Keep Kyogo out of the squad

730

It is five weeks since Kyogo Furuhashi pulled up with a hamstring injury.  Almost four weeks since he returned for the League Cup Final and nearly three weeks since the recurrence of his injury forced an early exit against St Johnstone.

You and I have been watching football long enough to know that from the off, we are told players will need three weeks to recover from even a mild hamstring strain.  Kyogo may well be superhuman, but he has not been permitted this recovery period.

A return against Hibs on Monday looks foolhardy, I would also be reluctant to play him against Alloa the following weekend.  The Hearts game at Tynecastle on 26 January is exactly a month after his last outing, that should be his target.

Maloney doesn’t get any advantage there, we have been utter shite at set pieces for years😱😵

  2. I would start Biton,he has been terrific, but I just thought Ange would like to get Hatate up and running.Options everywhere.Be good to see Jamesy getting a bit of time.We are going to need everyone.Ange knows the new boys better than us.Maeda scores,he is off and sprinting.

    Wish I was going.

  3. Yes -shut off all the media-government scaremongering noise and theres zero pandemic – around here anyway.

Went to the local cemetery the other day ,only two new graves of the last two years ,both were over 90. Compare that the the great plague when they had to build special segregated graveyard for the many victims.

The flu which normally results in lot d deaths vanished for over a year . Covid victims seemed to fill that gap. Maybe some more due to inappropriate hospital treatment. Midazalam.

Number 10 staff didnt bother with restrictions because they knew it was a scam.

The serious questions should be around what are they really up to?

    I’m baffled……

Even as back-up, a pretty mediocre keeper. Surely we can do better.

    GALLAGHER on 17TH JANUARY 2022 1:09 PM

A friend of mine put in a FOI request to Grampian Health Board in November last year, asking how many people died solely from covid in 2020 & the same for 2021.

    There were 4 in 2020 & 10 until late 2021.

    ====================

Hi GALLACHER. I think the word ‘solely’ makes that response not too unsurprising. The answer your friend got would depend very much on the specific question asked.

Hopefully this helps explain – deaths – or even summaries of hospital stays – are usually recorded with a number of contributory factors following in-patient episode (with the underlying diagnostic / clinical conditions factors coded using ICD-10 codes in most instances).

So, for instance, the main cause of death may well have been pneumonia – that will be very common in any patients admitted to an ITU/ICU with a respiratory problem that has been triggered via infection with the coronavirus. So, pneumonia would be the cause of death – coronavirus may have precipitated that – see here for an example of how these are coded: https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/J00-J99/J09-J18/J18-/J18.9#:~:text=Pneumonia%2C%20unspecified%20organism,-2016%202017%202018&text=Billable%2FSpecific%20Code-,J18.,effective%20on%20October%201%2C%202021.

An analogy would be someone dying as a result of a gunshot wound to the head leading to blood loss. The cause of death wouldn’t be coded solely as gunshot – the actual cause of death would may be coded as a traumatic heamorrhage (https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/S00-T88/S00-S09/S06/S06.3-/S06.348A), an injury to the head (https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/S00-T88/S00-S09) and a gunshot wound (https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/S00-T88/S00-S09/S01-/S01.80XA).

I’d be happy to look at the exact FOI request he made if you can post it here – perhaps suggests some edits so he can get better that better-reflects what he was actually looking for (e.g., in how many cases was Covid a significant contributory factor in death, or something along those lines).

I’ll look in to see if you can get that – might not be today – a tad busy.

No time to engage to any extent with some of the stuff being posted – and frankly, the evidence is that some positions are entrenched, so would be a waste of breath anyway.

However, a wee word on the statements about ‘not knowing’ people who died – what is the point being made here? On its own, it is really a bit of a meaningless statement. I don’t know anyone who died in World War I – I don’t doubt that it happened though, and that millions died as a result. If a specific assertion is being made – then by all means make it. Then people can understand the point, assess any evidence provided, engage in debate with you if they have the time or desire to do so.

And I just saw “…theres (sic) zero pandemic…” – aye, OK, that’s me relieved then. Best tell those folks down in ITU to get out of their beds and fek off home – wasters.

  7. Does anyone have any stats on our set piece ‘issue’?

Per set piece conceded around our own box, is it empirically proven that we concede more than others?

    Honest question.

  8. We are at 40 deaths a day in Ontario from covid, there a lot of Novax on here, selfish silly people.

Incidentally, apparently it is Sticky`s birthday today :-)

  15. Exactly TH, Mrs TT contracted it 2 year ago, nobody knew what it was at the time, she is only just getting over it. In fact I told the weans in the summer she would be lucky tae see Christmas. Thankfully she’s still here and looking forward tae getting øøf 5he plane at GA in the summer.

The reason it took so long for her recovery was primarily the health services were, as you well know, bogged down. In fact I have a good friend who lost his wife about 18 month ago, no not too Covid but another illness that when treated was not life threatening, unfortunately she herself refused to go to hospital until it was too late, the poor soul had to pull the plug on the mother of his children, incidentally they just had a new granddaughter which she never got to hold.

So all you antivaxxers out there, away to the nearest chemist and buy a packet of duress and go and fck yersell.

    But …

… if that doesn’t happen the crowd will need to stick with the Bhoys while they execute their process, keep it intense, and wear Hibernian down.

Watched Exeter vs Glasgow in Rugby’s European Cup on Saturday.

56 minutes in (70% of game played) the score was tight at 21-17.

Exeter continued to play their game, wore down Glasgow and pulled away.

    Final score 52-17.
