Keep Kyogo out of the squad

It is five weeks since Kyogo Furuhashi pulled up with a hamstring injury.  Almost four weeks since he returned for the League Cup Final and nearly three weeks since the recurrence of his injury forced an early exit against St Johnstone.

You and I have been watching football long enough to know that from the off, we are told players will need three weeks to recover from even a mild hamstring strain.  Kyogo may well be superhuman, but he has not been permitted this recovery period.

A return against Hibs on Monday looks foolhardy, I would also be reluctant to play him against Alloa the following weekend.  The Hearts game at Tynecastle on 26 January is exactly a month after his last outing, that should be his target.

  1. Happy Scott Bain has resigned, he’s not certain to be the No:2 keeper, because Barkas will have to go and be replaced. This leaves the door open for competition which could place Scott Bain as the third keeper.

    Watch this space CSC

  2. I think our GK situation is a bit of shambles currently. Not sure what Ange thinks, or has even thought of it.

Beyond the aging Hart, we now have Bain and of course Barkas (Surely must be going).

Then we have Hazard, Mullen. Tobi Oluwayemi (England U19), Doohan (rave reviews at Tranmere), Kai McLean, Joe Morrison and Ethan Mitchell all kicking around B teams or on loan…

    10 GKs…

Weird. And a bit rich imho.

    New contract for Bain.

    WTF is that all about.

He’d be lucky to get a game for any other SPlL club.”

I am aware of opinions and all that but is it not extremely likely that those who have given Bain the new contract are in a better position than any of us to make that decision?

  4. Re; Bain

This decision was made after the current management have been in place for over 6 months. Happy to go with their view.

On the snap decisions we had to make in June, we got 50/50. Correct on Ralston and wrong on Griffiths. Not a bad result really as they were 1 year deals at that time (Ralston has signed a longer one now)

  5. Keep your sub keeper happy, fine.

You will never have a first team top standard keeper happy to be on the bench. You really want to have a happy sub keeper who’ll give you everything when asked to. Bain fits this mould.

Whether you’re going or not tonight, try and enjoy it.
