CELTIC teen ace Daniel Kelly has been linked with a move to Championship side Millwall.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who made the breakthrough last season, is on the brink of quitting the champions after knocking back a contract extension offer in June.
The London club are poised to pounce for highly-rated Kelly who becomes a free agent at the turn of the year.
The second-tier outfit are keen to land the prospect on a pre-contract, according to the Daily Record.
ON THE MOVE…teenage midfield prospect Daniel Kelly looks to be heading to Millwall.
Kelly made his debut in the 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle at Parkhead on January 21 and went on to make eight first-team appearances while claiming his first goal in the 7-1 rout of Dundee in February.
Brendan Rodgers had high hopes for the powerfully-built midfielder and said: “He’s a young player I’ve loved working with since I came back. He has this incredible attitude.”
However, just months after being praised by the Hoops gaffer, Kelly is almost certainly on his way through the Parkhead exit.
Celtic could now pick up a nominal fee in compensation. They received around £240,000 from Championship side Watford for winger Rocco Vata earlier this summer.
They also accepted a cut-price £600,000 for Ben Doak, then 16 years old, from Liverpool in March 2023.
It now looks as though Kelly will join Vata and Doak in English football.
