If you thumb through the pages of the Celtic Quick News comments section you’ll find a couple of overlapping areas of indifferent form being reported. One for Beram Kayal and one for the team as a whole. You’ll also note several contributors commenting that Beram’s form improved after his new contract was signed, settling speculation surrounding the player.
It may be coincidental that Beram’s form seemed to pick up after his future was settled but the fact that this happened a few days after the pivotal 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock suggests a whole lot of what has been going right at Celtic was linked to the Israeli’s form in this crucial central midfield area.
Neil Lennon has a huge tactical decision to make. Get it wrong and he will not be able to replicate the impressive run of 10 consecutive wins. Before making a decision, a good place to research would be videos of Celtic’s run up to and including that Kilmarnock game. Knowing some of the things to avoid is a good start.

Burnin’ question in ole Broughty Ferry- fake?
James Forrest
I’m not sure how you feel Labour and the other Parties would have to reform. For example they are already called The Scottish Labour Party, The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party and The Scottish Liberal Democrat Party! They would be able to call on their heavyweights who sit down in London and have them contest elections for the new parliement. I’d guess they’d actually be better, stronger parties.
Sorry for the long link.
Hope it works.
Article may be of interest to those involved in the Independence debate.
Wise words from a wise man! :>)

I wish you hadn’t done that. The type of sunburn that only Ayrshire folk and ‘Ferry residents can aspire to.
greenjedi:
In a sense, in that the Labour Party would be stronger as Scottish Labour, I agree, but merely because it would be a different creature, with a different social philosophy, than London run Labour … yet I do believe a reform would need to happen, and in strictly constitutional terms it would be necessary.
How could a party funded, and run, from England operate as the Voice of Scotland? There would be months of fighting as Scottish Labour MP’s tried to decide whether they wanted to serve in London or be run from Edinburgh. Guys like Jim Murphy? No way they would “come home”, not if England had the nuclear arsenal!
The constitutional chaos into which the other parties would be plunged would be catastrophic.

Wee Lorraine’s welcome in the gazebo anytime, but she might be a bit chilly…
Just received an acknowledgment from Alex Salmond to an email I sent regarding Sectarianism and Independence. It was sent by the Correspondence Unit by a Mr. Ronald McVicar.

That was really, really good :-)
If I recall correctly after we drew 3-3 with Killie we stuttered to a draw with Hibs. A late winner against Motherwell got us winning again and a few solid if unspectacular victories got the train back on the rails, coupled with some confidence boosting Euro league performances and the Orcs beginning tio show signs of frailty.
As much as I admire Kayal’s ability my own thinking is that the recovery was down more to a growth in confidence as the weeks went by with players being released from the pressure they were under with each passing victory and then getting back some room for error as the dark side began to implode.
The re-emergence at this time of Samaras as a decent player and Wanyama as a confident and able deputy either at centre back or in midfield was just as important. So too was the relatively settled side we were able to play despite injuries to some.
Big Dans injury threatened to destabilise the defence after it had foud some consistency but the settled and confident midfield in front of them as well as the displays of Wanyama, Mulgrew and to be fair to him Loovens as well when called upon (not to forget Rogne particularly against Jelavic) have seen our most stable period of the season continue in to the New Year.
As long as Scott Brown stays wide right I’ll be confident enough whatever team Neil Puts out.
We have options in the middle of the park. That said I think if we could get a loan deal for a decent CM player we might be advised to do it. Injury to Ledley or Wanyama or both could prove costly.
Kayal will be missed but what we have built upon in the last three months is the biggest factor of all in any sport – CONFIDENCE.
Hoping the midfield will be Brown Ki Wanyama Ledley for tomorrow.
Ian Crocker swears they’re real.
Maks sense tae me, and it maks sense tae Mo.

How many Surrealists does it take to change a light bulb?
TomtheTim – stunning hypocrisy from Lord Taylor there! ‘If a majority wants independence it shouldn’t be binding on the whole of Scotland’!!! ‘If a majority in the Lowlands or Strathclyde wish to remain in the Union they should be allowed to’!!! Democracy Unionist style.
I hope he agrees that if a majority in Counties Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Armagh want to be reunited with the 26 counties of the Republic. Antrim and Down being the only two counties with Unionist majorities (and I would say that the good people of South Down may well have a strong case using Taylors logic to join the republic too!) may have to apply to become part of Scotland if they want to remain viable! He’s making a great case for Irish Unity there!

If Murphy, Darling etc don’t come back to stand for the Scottish Parliament they are in my opinion guys who don’t give a toss about their country or their constituants and are only interested in feathering their own nests. We’d be well shot of the. For those who don’t like Salmond, you still have to admit he actually cares about his country and its people. If we gain Independence it will be time for the other politicians from Labour, the Tories etc to prove the do as well.

Believe me mate, Murphy would chuck his Scottish seat and be looking for a safe berth in England the second the result was in. He would gravitate to the centre of maximum power, and if what’s left of the UK held a UN seat and the nuclear launch codes that is exactly where he would want to be.
I can’t speak to Darling, as he’s always struck me as a moderate, reasonable and very principled man … but Murphy? The idea, the very notion, he gives a toss about Scotland is laughable. He cares about Jim Murphy; that is the be-all-and-end-all of his mortal existence mate.
This, from the BBC site —
” Celtic manager Neil Lennon and Victor Wanyama have been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager and Young Player of the Month for December.”– is hardly surprising but the article was accompanied by a picture of Vic and a smiling Lennie in playful mood. Now that IS surprising! The times they are a changin` ?
