It was Kilmarnock who denied Celtic a treble last season, when they stuck to plan and delivered a 1-0 League Cup win at Rugby Park. Derek McInnes is short of quality but knows how to get results against Celtic, he will come with a plan tomorrow.
Celtic have been imperious at home this season, Aberdeen are the only Scottish side who have avoided defeat when visiting this season. This form should fortify confidence for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie.
I expect to see Kuhn return to the starting lineup, with Kyogo through the middle. Get the job done, Celtic.

What could be argued, with oretty good evidence, is that Matt O’Riley would not have been at Celtic if Brendan had been in charge of recruitment. Same with Kuhn.
For every window we had like the Summer the likelihood of Brendan working his magic in a player like him diminishes
I get that Brendan doesn’t want to take risks, very few managers with a short time horizon in the job and an eye on a legacy will be interested in punts. But if he does get what he seems to want there will be fewer duds and no Matt’s and Nics and more safe choices who don’t move the club forward a great deal.
if any young player, appearing at celtic park for their first games would be cut any slack, well its not going to happen, they will be written off and groaned at from their first misplaced pass or even a pass backwards.
if brendan said, well, i know this game is important but so is development of the kids, the posts on here particularly in play would be childlishly over reactive.
its the quarter of a century of trophies entitlement celtic way now.
2500 bankies going to the hibs tie, well done those across the bridge.
It should be part of his job, he’s very well paid to bring success and look at player development as the vital part of the club that it is
His talent as a football manager will always mean we’ll do well on the pitch. Likewise developing the players he works with, he has a natural talent for both.
But if he decides to stop bringing in players of a certain profile we won’t be the club we could be.
I read an interview recently where he said he was taking a bit of a step acknowledging from coaching, leaving it more to JFK and concentrating more on “management issues and the vision for the club”
I’m not sure what that means, but he’s an excellent coach and manager, im not sure what qualifies him to decide on the vision
It is interesting if, as he suggested, he’s taken less of a role in coaching and more of a strategic role for the last four years
They were talking on the radio about the fair play punishments that were due to be handed out tgis week in the EPL. Leicester looked like they were going to receive a punishment but didn’t. The financial expert was saying they only swerved it in the season they went down 2022/23 because they changed their accounting date. It meant the EPL couldn’t punish them in their relegation season and the EFL couldn’t get them in their first season in the championship
The expert said Leicester were spending well beyond their means – hus actual words were that they budgeted for 5 or 6th and went down as the first tam to have a wage bill over £200m
Bit the work of a great visionary, I’d say, but managers get sacked and walk away while the owners, and administrators at the club are left to deal with a club that’s in sever financial distress
SS- thanks for stadium update, much appreciated

I’ve been thinking, I know, I know, but in my opinion we are way too much reliant on wingers and personally don’t think our midfield is as good as many do. We play way to many passes without much headway, and we wonder why our strikers are on a barren patch !!
Possession is key they tell us, but without penetration then what really is the point in just keeping the ball.
We urgently need a real creative mid fielder who pllays the ball forward, not sideways.
As they say, it is not rocket science after all
KINGLuBO
Reading a wee snippet from that emergency toilet roll,Glasgow World, that alleged Celtic Target,Bogusz, from America, will not be joining us,as he has received an offer from a club in Mexico !!!!!,Cruz Azul ??????,of £110,000,per week !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.LA will receive £ 8 million from the transfer. For a half decent midfielder.
Never heard of any Mexican clubs signing anyone ever for big money. Is this possibly a Cub reporter,as in Jimmy Olsen, having too many mind altering drugs last night in some Glasgow she been, and going La La on the old Internet today?.
Denis Law RIP
In all the interviews Brendan gives, and I include all his other clubs.
I have never listened and thought, there is a one trick pony, or anyone could do what he does with celtic because its easy.
I actually always think the opposite, what a clever man, answering questions well, while being bi-lingual, learning another, and I am absoultely certain of this, taking lessons from the plc, board meetings, senior figures across organsations.
I could see him as a future board member if that is what he wants to do.And maybe even with a shareholding given.
Personally I can’t imagine that anyone, no matter how big their intellect, is able to be such a successful coach and manager and also be the top strategist that Celtic needs. It’s two very complex worlds
Maybe im wrong, maybe Brendan can do it all, and better than the guys at the club
RIP Denis Law
God bless the Law Man
RIP Denis
That is what’s being suggested isn’t it? That Brendan knows better?
Denis Law RIP. A true legend.

follow the German board structures, the senior appointments at clubs are often formey players who go and learn business.
Deliveirng business strategy is not a mytery, it is taught after all.
he can and probably will do it.

Palma is better than Yang,Brendan.
Neil Critchley watching the game from behind the Brechin hedge…😁😜
I would rest Calmac tomorrow and play AR in his position to give us more physicality.
Watching the last couple of games, every long ball from oppenents headed by celtic players landed to other team, which increases the pressure, perhaps something to look at ?
RIP Denis Law.
One of the truly greatest.
We need to up the intensity, but maybe it is as BR alluded to today we have hit a wall with 7 games in 20 days up to Dundee on Tuesday, they had 5days rest prior to playing Celtic,we really lacked physicality in contact areas, thankfully we only have 1 more Tuesday game that i can see before the split. Donnelly for them is worth the watching tomorrow he has taken over from Power as a thug. I’m very hopeful we will win but need to take the chances and really play at pace.
If we turn up we win.one game at a time.hail hail
MURSHEEN
That’s one of my bugbears too . A wee bit of composure needed to direct the header to a team mate if possible.
Not always time to do that of course , and the priority is to win the header and clear the ball , but it happens too often when under no pressure.
SARGASSOSEA, long time since I’ve seen your moniker :)
Sad to hear the news about Denis Law. Always came across as a real gentleman and what a player. RIP.

…”It’s really not a difficult thing to grasp which does suggest you’re doing it for the purposes of winning an argument”
Of course it isn’t moneyball, that was a seed that was planted in CQN a while back, for a future winning recruitment strategy.
Actually it was a clever way of implementing a zero~sum~game that would allow the Board to take part of the annual season ticket income “recycle it” and stick it in the PLC’s savings account.
Though it is you who want to re-hash and win the tired arguments.
I addressed this in a comment to BURNLEY78 the other day. – CHAIRBHOY on 15TH JANUARY 2025 4:39 PM.
To me it’s all smoke n’mirrors, divide and rule and confound perception.
Last January’s transfer window we only got two players in – yet it is a classic example.
Players perceived as good or good value, the Lawwell’s. Players perceived as poor, or poor value – someone else.
Same as it’s been for a dozen seasons.
Well that’s in the past.
The Lawwell’s got in Nic Kuhn, Adam Idah was a Rodgers signing.
Well the manager has stood up and been counted, since January last year the signings have gone through a convoluted process (a is the way of these things) yet the manager signs off on the players.
We now have much better communications and regular press conferences by the manager and senior players.
We know what’s going on, like we did in the Nicolas Kuhn transfer…
…“Kuhn had interest from other clubs but insists the call from Celtic and a chat with boss Brendan Rodgers made up his mind to make the move to Glasgow.
He said: “We had some really good meetings, we talked a lot and he told me what a great and big club this is although I knew about Celtic before and I also saw some games.
“He convinced me to come here and everything he told me was really nice and I had the first training session today.
“It was clear at the moment Celtic called and showed interest that I wanted to come here.
“There was some interest from other clubs but the moment I received the message I didn’t think about going somewhere else.”
As for Rodgers, he said of the new arrival: “We are delighted to welcome Nicolas to Celtic. We believe he is a dynamic player who has an excellent level of quality and all the attributes to fit well into our style of play.
“He has the profile we are looking for, he has a real attacking intent, a player with great pace and ideas, the ability to create and score goals and a player with a great energy and work ethic.
“He is someone who can play wide on both sides so he brings with him that versatility for us too, and myself and the coaches here really look forward to working with him.”

On a regular basis you actually make things up, then is the made up stuff to win your argument.
Today’s nonsense…
Brendan Rodgers would not have bought Matt O’Riley?
All your arguments rely on made up stuff or conjecture when we have a myriad of facts we can use to put forward and back up an opinion.
There are lots of very good reasons why the recent improvements in our player recruitment approach is a benefit.
We will certainly see in six months, where it has taken us…
Hail Hail
Dennis Law. Scottish football royalty. Pardon the phrase.
We produced superstars.
Charlton, Law and Best.
I watched Man Utd last night. If only.
Are we the only team with a mad December/ January schedule?
Of course not. But we have the best squad to face down the rapid games.
However we must prioritise.
Its a no brainer. Champions League and SPL.
Hail hail
SAINT STIVS @ 7:32 PM,

Good luck to my mate Willie West as he aims to destroy the huns in the cold, eerie, spooky, dark , horrid, demonic,, sinister, wretched cauldron aptly named Greyskull.
