Commons invention for Griffiths’ 2nd minute goal was a treat, four minutes later Commons shot forced MacDonald into a save. Then on 8 minutes Rogic forced a save and 60 seconds later Griffiths shot from distance was saved. On 11 minutes Forrest’s shot was saved and on 17 minutes another Commons shot was saved.
In making that last shot, Commons grimaced in pain and that was that. Celtic didn’t have another shot on target until Nir Bitton’s spectacular goal. Kris retired to the bench soon after that grimace to pack ice on his thigh, and Celtic’s game fell apart.
What price that Malmo manager, Age Hereide, underlined the words Stop Commons in his notebook?
The remainder of the game was a lottery. We should have won, on the balance of chances, but we weren’t good enough to make sure. When Kris Commons gets that ice off, Ronny had better replace it with cotton wool.

As usual when we played out our scoreless draw with Qarabag, this place was ecstatic and Izzy was a hero. We draw a game we should have won and the world has come to an end and Izzy is a mug. Not sure if it’s the same people making contrasting posts or do we have two sets of posters. Those that dominate on a good news day and those who rule the roost on a bad day.

Unfortunately, yes though it was close.
Celtic drop points away in an astonishly one sided 2-2 draw, and the classic cliché of ‘not putting them away’ caught Celtic, where you could see a Kilmarnock penalty from the minute both Izzaguire and A N Other entered the box, with the Celtic defender on the wrong side.
A giveaway by Celtic in a game (cliche alert) that would have been stopped on 30 minutes if it had been a boxing match, but Celtic’s superior fitness, passing and ‘player resource ‘comes up short in front of goal, in an all too familiar way.
Celtic will never get an easier free pass for an opening goal and every time they missed thereafter, hapless Killie were bound to get something after Collinsgate, a first half mauling ,two defeats and six goals on the bounce, Killie suddenly found gaps with one of three attacks, in the first half.
Bitton’s wonder goal wasn’t enough, Rogic proved an reduced deputy for Brown and although James Forrest can now beat five players instead of four, he’ll always still be James Forrest. Like a rabbit in the headlights, he’d make a good rabbit. I’m not convinced you can run at the speed of James and then make a perfect or even the right pass . He’s a ‘special talent’ right enough, maybe he is on a different level to his team mates, the Celtic support are still left waiting in hope, at least till next Wednesday, for when he was whisked away and wrapped up to keep warm.
We’ll never know if Dedryck Boyata would have been on the right side of McGuinness, for the first goal, I somehow doubt he would, but Efe would get an internet whipping before a ball was kicked, in any case, wouldn’t he?
It’ll need to be a much better Celtic that take on Malmo, some of the fringe players won’t be there, with Ciftci only able to improve on his strike rate it’s got to be better than Leigh Griffiths one goal from six or seven chances.

Played for Derby in League Cup tonight so that probably means he’s on the B team and not a first pick anymore.
Surprised it took some bhoys so long to rumble Rudi, I had him sussed after 2 or 3 posts. Didn’t link him to Ryecatcher though but now that ye say it very strong similarities.
While I agree jamesie had a better match tonight nothing came from it re end result. I was also disappointed in GMS he looks flat at the moment and is not beating his man and getting the ball in the box , thought Janko was ok and think Tom Rogic given a few games will come through like Biton,I’m not convinced griff is a lone striker. When James went off if you bring on a defender at 2.1 then you should shut up shop I would have brought stokes on and kept same shape just my opinion. But I still love Celtic no matter what. HH

I’m their biggest critic…..but won’t use them to explain what is patently obvious. The problems tonight started when we got frustrated at our inability to score a second. Our poor passing (a recurring theme) enabled them to gain some confidence and score a good goal.
We regained control, but too many are off form and our continued 1forward is costing us.
It was inevitable they would create chances.
They took more in percentage terms.
The LB position is an open wound, sorry to say that, but it’s costing us.

On Forrest’s best run in the second half he got to the byeline and cut it back with absolute precision onto the head of the incoming Johansen until Griffiths tried an acrobatic overhead kick.
I thought Forrest was really, really good tonight.
By the way the referee was an absolute joke but I don’t think influenced the result.
