Kilmarnock 2-2 Celtic

335

You know what happens when you fail to defend properly, so watching Celtic be punished for Izzie failing to stop a cross, Efe allowing a man to cut in front of him, and Izzie getting into a mess, allowing his man to get behind him and run into the box, will not be a surprise. Defend like that and you don’t deserve any more from the game.

There was a vastly more interesting aspect on display.

Commons invention for Griffiths’ 2nd minute goal was a treat, four minutes later Commons shot forced MacDonald into a save. Then on 8 minutes Rogic forced a save and 60 seconds later Griffiths shot from distance was saved. On 11 minutes Forrest’s shot was saved and on 17 minutes another Commons shot was saved.

In making that last shot, Commons grimaced in pain and that was that. Celtic didn’t have another shot on target until Nir Bitton’s spectacular goal. Kris retired to the bench soon after that grimace to pack ice on his thigh, and Celtic’s game fell apart.

What price that Malmo manager, Age Hereide, underlined the words Stop Commons in his notebook?

The remainder of the game was a lottery. We should have won, on the balance of chances, but we weren’t good enough to make sure. When Kris Commons gets that ice off, Ronny had better replace it with cotton wool.

Nice Panenka from Higginbotham.

The real sad football news this week is that Eva Carneiro will no longer be on the Chelsea bench, one more reason not to watch the EPL and one more reason to dislike Mourinho

    Might even cancel sky now.

    Oh no I wont

Don’t know why the blog was running slow again but we’re on it.

As for the league table being wrong – that isn’t maintained by CQN – it is for a site that goes across the majority of supporters sites across the UK. It actually give loads of info on other games, live scores etc too. Someone made a mistake at their end. We gave them grief straight away and it was sorted.

  4. Too many squad guys tonight… Good players who are not winners. I’d rather have lesser players who are winners. too much nannying about with team. John Collins must be feeling not clever enough. I’m partly blaming him for creating pressure tonight. He’s a conceited idiot.

I posted several times tonight Forrest was on fire, I think he’s all the player he’ll ever be, now.

We got nothing from his contribution, maybe as I said, it’s the other guys fault.

At least you are safe at the game away from the ‘Live Updates’ some of which are either from those drunk in charge of the internet , or huns.

They are certainly not from Celtic fans, that’s for sure.

    Hail Hail

  8. I’ll bid all ye brave Bhoys a good night. Really enjoyed the game a little miffed with the result but what the hell, the League is over 38 games and there will always be days like this. God Bless All. Regards & Prayers for Kev Jungle.

    WITS,

Sad, sad news about the delightful Eva. Funnily enough, I respect Jose even more now. He is a winner. He would sell his grandma to save a point at Bournemouth’s stadium.

  10. Basically Ambrose and Izzy can’t defend this has been obvious for quite a while, over a season we can get away with it in the SPL.In the Champions League it will ruthlessly be exposed.

I’m quite sure you were your usual fair minded self. I just felt it worth pointing out that JF was sublime tonight and rarely gave the ball up despite the pace he was running at and the often rather crude attempts at halting him. It was the decision making of others that meant there was no end result

I’ll bet Efe got slated for allowing Magenniss(?) run across him, completely ignoring GMS’s laziness and VVD’s awful positioning?!

  12. Efe Ambrose is awfy braw …….and when VvD disapears doon sooth ….with game after game …Big Efe will walk it …and tumble oor paradise…….

Yes I like Mourinho. He is ruthless. ..but he could have cut Eva some slack. Surely

I remember being at my mum’s when we thumped Dunfermline around Christmas time about 3 years ago. I watched the game in the pub down there whilst on CQN. I was astonished at the negativity of many posters and made a comment regarding it. You replied that it was far from uncommon.

Rarely do I read back now in the live updates article.

  15. Just back from pub. We still desperately need a striker. Could not understand the Forest substitution just when he had his best period of the game. Then there is the same old story of the referee. Still not an excuse on a night when we should have had double figures.

  16. Scott Allan to Celtic?

    Yer having a larrrrfffff?

Watched him play for Portsmouth in the 3rd tier of English football and he was awful.

Let him go to the Huns …..PLEASE

  17. Just back from Rugby Park ( How apt ) thought I would give credit where due to James Forrest, not one of my favourites, but I thought he did much better tonight and if any player shows a bit of effort and intent then I will never criticise them.

Everyone knew that the entire country and officialdom wanted some kind of reversal to justify what is a crap product ( Scottish Football) I cannot believe that RD walked right into the trap and obliged by making changes not suited to the game or opposition.Rogic nice on ball but Henderson would have had more bite as would Stokes instead of GMS. I thought Efe did OK the cross should have been stopped.

Then there’s Izzy, putting himself in a situation where the Ref was happy to oblige….very soft.

    Off to bed. HH

  19. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Hamiltontim, Efe is getting it on other sites as well.

There were other players who played tonight whose performances could have been better,Johansen in particular.

The one in the second half where he could have shot first time but tried to beat the defender was a bad decision.

Stefan has had manygood games for us but I hope his performances improve this season like they did last.

  20. Dallas Dallas

Apologies but I’m shattered so it’ll be a brief reply.

Strangely he didn’t get any abuse at all (that I heard) at the game. In fact I heard many Tims saying they thought he’d played quite well.

Yep he shouldn’t have let Magenniss run across him but there was a litany of errors which resulted in the goal.

    Night all.

  21. HT

Well as we’ve discussed before, I’d like to know the ratio of Celtic ‘supporting’ internet abusers versus season ticket holders.

Lets just say I don’t think there are too many that are both.

  22. Iv missed last few games but reading on here izzy had great game in our last euro game

Now after last Nyt people are kicking him out of Malmö team and bringing mulgrew in .. Izzy or a new left back for me. Not mulgrew..not at left back.

On the evidence so far I don’t see how Rogic got ahead of Henderson.

GMS ( and Stuart Armstrong) are well of the boil, and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Anthony Stokes either.

  26. The response from posters on the Live Update thread is, mostly, in line with what you would hear at the game.

I haven’t sat at Celtic Park since we beat Motherwell in January.

I’m just about thawed out now, thanks for asking.

Even in that easy victory, where Lustig was brilliant, some fans around me were criticizing their pet target.

It’s the way of the world.

Agree, not only did he get into the team RD stated he was ” Looking at him for CL games ” that I do not understand,Rogic has nice touches but likes time and for his build gets pushed around.

    Hope your right about Stokes.

  28. Rogic looks a player, but still needs to up his work rate and improve his positional play. Janko also looks a positive.

  29. Ha ha ha… some posters on here really make me laugh.

Good to see the same old ones (not in age) who can see past the bulls excrement and typical knee jerk reactions.

The only show in town are the 2 games against Malmo.

  30. BCW-Can’t agree amigo, Smith,Hamill,Connolly let off with repeated bookings . A few discussions on here which we thought we wouldn’t have after 2 minutes tonight. I thought Forrest looked a threat for the first time in ages, strange sub for me putting Mulgrew on.Janko will be a good addition after a few games. We are crying out for a No 10 to link the play from middle to front with a quick, early pass, onto a strong centre forward. Ryan Gauld is my tip to be in the Hoops soon.FWIW , I thought Izzy should have let the guy get the run on him and try to create something, he was waiting on a touch and Crawford Allan was delighted, he has won the MIB’s Award for giving the Quickest Decision in Shortest Possible Time.On a personal note, I was not as annoyed as usual, when penalty was given, and we lost 2 points, should I have a word with myself?
