  1. Loved the galloping run up the wing late in the game by Burke. Reminiscent of the Greek God who used to wear the Hoops.

  2. great result and solid performance. Hayes played great , Eduard makes a huge difference to our play. Would have liked a bit more creativity in midfield – lots of runs behind not noticed until they went to 10 and mcgregor had a couple of fine splitting passes to hayes.

Christie looks like he needs a rest – lots of effort but lacking spark.

Bayo could have score if Weah squared in last min. Weah was lively and showed great touches.

CELTIC should appeal the sending off – can we appeal a second yellow? Brown did not go into crowd.

very happy with performance and thought our defense looked pretty solid

  3. “If we play like that 8’s a long way away”?

WE won tonight. WE scored more goals than the opposition.

WE did not conceed a goal, again! WE got 3 points and moved further away from our nearest rivals.

I’ll take a hard fought victory and 3 points every day of the week whether it’s by playing silky football or having to grind out results like tonight on plastic pitches. I also thi.k Jonny Hayes was told to concentrate on defence for the first half and then get forward for the 2nd.

    Inverness I think?

First yellow was for dissent as well?

  5. Sky sport reporting Boyd hit with coin and also had sectarian abuse hurled at him at Rugby park. This in modern 2019 Scotland I don’t believe it.Ah come on sky sports surely not!

  6. I don’t think you can underestimate just how much that goal will have hurt the hun supporters.

The importance of it,who scored it and the timing of it.

Oh they will be hurting so bad tonight.

Its the hope that kills you.

  7. Right in front of ref after game finishes

Kilmarnock player pushes Timo Weah with 2 hands

    Timo Weah booked

    Why ???

    A real struggle today,

    But

THATS WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE CELTIC

    ?????????

  8. I thought we were rubbish and I think we’ve been rubbish for the last 8 seasons.

I think we should sign all the brilliant professional footballers that visit this site then maybe we won’t be rubbish anymore.

After 2:30 here in Brunei and off to bed a very happy Tim, despite being rubbish.?

I’m sure Scott B could care less about being sent off now. I think Madhun was telling Brendan he didn’t have an option other than booking Scotty again.

    ………………………..

Oglach, I guess you’re in the USA.

I notice that in the USA folk will say “could care less” about something, whereas in the UK folk will say “couldn’t care less” about something. Both to denote the same emotion.

Curious about how that discrepancy exists.

For me, saying you could care less must mean that you care somewhat.

While saying you couldn’t care less means you have zero regard for something.

Either way, Broonie could/couldn’t care less about his red card.*

    *delete as appropriate.

    Well done the Glasgow Celtic.

  10. So go to sleep my weary zombie

Let the time go drifting by

Ah can’t ya hear the Fenians cheering

    That’s the Celtic lullaby ?

  11. Tontine Tim / 16 roads

Kris Commons got sent off at tynecastle after scoring yet am sure the same ref didn’t book a player playing out of Ibrox the following weekend at Fir Park … but even with all their cheating we are still collecting trophies … probably the most apt moniker on here … good or bad Celtic Roller Coaster … sometime a 1-0 late winner just makes you appreciate Celtic even than one wee bit more, magical

  12. Awesome sauce.

The dog shat on the carpet when I screamed at Broonie’seffort going in.

    Big big win that.

I went on some hun forum last night and they were suicidal at the idea wee win today.

    Luv it.

  13. Stuttering Celtic performance given new meaning via hesgoal.com and a delicious deflected goal from Scott Brown via SFTB’s half time tip Dedryk Boyata, our only aerial threat. Jonny Hayes did a decent impersonation of Emilio Izaguirre and a Celtic carpet beating performance was never on the cards. Thought Brendan was slow with his subs maybe he just timed it to perfection and a Tom Rogic wonder goal in the same ground brought an equally pivotal three points to Broonie’s sclaff.

Kilmarnock under Steve Clarke a top SPFL side and the former Chelsea assistant manager has made an impression on the league funny how I still think Sevco will win the replay. Celtic’s lack of a shot from outside the box when Rogic doesn’t play is evident every other week and the alternative MacGregor, Christie slip ball, into channels is countered by good sides, as it was today

Celtic toiled and even managed to become anonymous for long spells, where Kilmarnock threatened but the second half was a procession on the way to a goal, which came after BR had played all three subs causing confusion and panic in Clarke’s defensive banks of blue and white stripes. Burke and Weah on six month contracts to ensure Eight, is a deadly double act and surely testimony to Peter, Brendan or the signing policy in general.

We were solid enough at the back throughout with  bullish Boyata and Ajer in for chocolate knees Simunovic protected from the pitch for another return on a better surface. Jeremy Toljan was tidy enough and if he’s an example of the type of talent that £6M brings then it should be an interesting summer for the Celtic fans who are awaiting Mikael Lustig’s successor and the tilt a NINE

  14. afternoon ….was underways with Miss Braw….has her driving license….am sure there are a load of memories there for a lot of braw folk…..time is a bugger ..

but to come home and learn that Captain oh my Captain won the game …that wis awfy braw…..

twa sneaky goals agin us ….come on the Celtic …give them socks and hats …

the world might change ….Celtic loons never ,,,,

  15. Typical rugby park performance.

    Terrible playing surface

    Killie played their usual game

    We didn’t make enough chances

    But hey ho who cares

    a magnificent three points

    Up the hoops

  16. Alasdair MacLean on

Three points away from home on the notoriously worst pitch in the league, less than 3 days after a European game.

Gaining ground on all contenders by 2 or 3 points.

    Not bad really.

  17. GFTB – Rules are rules, it seems this particular rule only applies to Celtic players though.

    Maybe I’m just paranoid. ?

  18. Celtic ‘well deserving of victory’ – Rodgers

    FT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Sportsound:

“We weren’t settling for a draw. We play to win every game and I thought we played very well considering we had a game of such intensity and difficulty on Thursday.

“It is never easy here, you have got to break through their block and they are very well organised. You know there are not going to be many chances so you have got to be ready.

“In the second half the players had great control and limited Kilmarnock to nothing really. When the moment arrived we took it, so I thought we were well deserving of the win.”

  19. Brutal game mostly down to the pitch imo, it seemed to be covered in glue the way the ball stuck to it, must be a nightmare to play on, great three points, it assured the eighth league in a row for sure.

Jeez there must be a fair few hurtin huns oot there tonight, magic ;-)

  20. 8 points clear

    11 goal superior goal difference.

    12 games left.

Anyone think the Huns are coming?

  21. I think a Killie player deliberately ran into the back of Weah just after his shot came off the post. Was not shown again on TV, strangely enough… The stramash at the end was Weah having a go back at whichever Killie player was involved (possibly Jones, but not sure). Anyway, it was a right good GIRUY. HH

  22. My MOM was also Boyata. Some here give him a hard time, He made a major error in absenting himself from AEK game and he cannot erase that. However he swallowed his disappointment at losing a big money move and even though it’s his last season, he has given it everything and picking out Brooney with the header was the winning of the game.

A tough place to go, the pitch was a huge leveler & Killie played very well but we won it at the death, Last time around if my memory serves me correct they won it at the death, also from a corner. That’s football.

I can’t understand supporters quibbling about Brown being an idiot at getting second yellow or Supporters being muppets for being on Park.

It’s passion, it’s excitement, you don’t think, I’m 71 and after doing 2 laps of the dining room did a Buddy Holly slide on my knees across the floor. I’m lucky I’m not in traction at this stage.

It was Jordan Jones who pushed Timo with both hands.

On that subject, from Celtic Underground.

Following the actions of Jordan Jones at the end of the match today Liberia has just declared war on the town of Kilmarnock.

Conservative estimates suggest this conflict could cause millions of pounds of improvements to the area.

    Hail Hail

  24. FRIESDORFER on 17TH FEBRUARY 2019 6:57 PM

It was Taylor, who Timo went to after the game and then Jones run over to push Timo.

    Hail Hail

  25. We played crap

We wont win 8 in a row playing like that

Coaches need to up their game

    Bla, bla f*ckin bla

I bet not one of you have played on a plastic pitch before

Well played Celtic and Brendan Rodgers

  26. Had hoped for a bounce today after results went our way yesterday but it wasn’t to be. We just hate that place with a passion as we cant seem to get anything going at all. Our forwards were snuffed out too easily, there was no plan B or C and the subs weren’t great and too long in coming. Somehow we dug it out with the help of big Kirk who is an absolute dumpling. Just glad to get out of there with 3 points, the post mortem can wait till another day.

    MotM – Hayes

  27. Think Christie should be rested and a place found for Weah to start. Thought he made a difference 2day.

  28. CORKCELT on 17TH FEBRUARY 2019 6:59 PM

I couldn’t agree more, I honestly think if you complain about Broonie then you don’t understand the emotion football brings.

I was only watching and my mood improved dramatically, my wife ( in a good natured way) is teasing me rotten about it.

I said people were all moaning, now look at all the joy and she said, is that yourself you are talking about. :-)

    Hail Hail

  29. 16roads 6.48pm

Sadly only some of us have to abide by the rules :-)

My 10yr old daughter jumping about the kitchen (watching on sky go iPad) will live long in my memory … a tremendous 3pts … Scott Brown is a terrific Celtic player … love him, he is nearly, just nearly getting near the Maestro for everything Celtic … Broony might have more medals but the Maestro staying means more to this daft eijit :-)

    Magical Celtic times ?

  31. Stephen Gerrard’s comment on his team yesterday: “That’s just not Rangers”. So at least the guy acknowledges that Rangers were liquidated.
