  1. Perfect result after the disappointment of Thursday night. Ki;lmarnock have some good players and allied to the difficult pitch they really made hard for us and to snatch a win at the death makes the victory all the more sweet. Very exciting match and well done Brendan and the team. Chris Sutton remarked during the week that Weah’s dad liked his pint of stout hope son Timothy downed one after that victory.

  2. Last time I played on a plastic pitch I had to get my left hand on a yellow circle but my wife’s backside was in the way.

You can imagine how easy it is to get red carded in those conditions.

  3. Imagine how it must have felt for the huns with Broony, of all people, scoring a late late winner

It would have felt like a punch in the stomach

    Prob why Madden booked him

  4. glendalystonsils on

Great result considering the plastic pitch totally negates our passing game . Got to ping your passes twice as hard for them to travel at half the pace they would on grass. High balls seem to land with backspin , like a Phil Mickelson wedge shot, inviting eager cluggers to pile in to our defenders. Top tier clubs who can’t afford grass pitches should be helped out by the fitba authorities for the good of the game .

Oh….I just remembered….the fitba authorities in Scotland are not remotely interested in the good of the game.

    ***Goals Galore 4-week 7 update***

    Good Evening fholks

Hope you had a fun Sunday? Broony has shot 4 times in the last 2 weeks of the last 2 years and now two goals. Bumped into Choccie in the pub and his comment was amazing what a new contract does for you :-)

Anyway onto GG4 and no more joker purchases allowed. In addition the mini comp starts as well between week 8-10 (Remember jokers do not count for the mini comp). Still £45 to collect in entry fees. Once in we will declare prize funds and monies raised

    But who cares.

  8. Never going to be pretty today but sometimes it’s just about getting the job done, any way possible.

Broonies shot was heading half way up the stand but karma was it hitting the net, noway were we getting a penalty.

Great scenes at the end, that’s how you do a pitch invasion Sevvies ?

  9. GG I thought that laying hands on an opposition player was a red card, so mibbees jones will get cited just in time for the replay.

  10. glendalystonsils on

Funny old game , funny old world . Morelas assaults 4 Celtic players and doesn’t get sent off . Broony celebrates what could be one of the most important goals of the season and does get sent off .

Any chance we can have a wee list of the Sevconian choices at the end of the competition …

Just for a bit of fun :-)

Like the refs … embarrass the cheats

Surely nobody would want to win goals galore with all the penalties the Huns get …. and spare me the “I picked them so they wouldn’t score” pish …. still buzzing fae the perfect Broony :-) ……. \o/\o/

  12. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Another vital three points and yet another clean sheet. Always keep going till the end!

Good to see a corner with a bit of variation!

Did Brown actually go into the crowd? Harsh yellow I thought.

Why no booking for Bruce? Exactly the same as the Motherwell one v Sevco in November. McHugh I think. Was a second yellow too. Or can we assume that we wouldn’t have got the penalty?

Shocking challenge from Flatfoot. Deserved the red.

  13. Broonies shot was heading half way up the stand but karma was it hitting the net, noway were we getting a penalty.

    SID

Yes there was no way we were getting a penalty if he had deflected it wide instead of in. Replays showed Mad Hun had a clear view…. so goal kick it is then!

  14. GOALS GALORE 4 WEEK 8

Good Evening Contestants, and welcome to Week 8

It’s tight at the top, and no-one breaking away….it may well come down to a shoot-out in the final round of the competition.

Whilst the Contenders slug it out at the top of the table, next week see’s the start of ‘The GG4 Treble’. The final 3 games will be a mini competition for everyone to take part in, regardless of where you sit in the current table, and will see a small prize awarded to the team who scores the most points in the last 3 games. No jokers count in this competition, but will count, if played, in the main competition. So, even if you sit at the bottom of the league at the moment, or haven’t made a pick every week, you could still be a winner !

If you still have to make payment, the details are at the bottom of the page of the e-mail sent to participants a short time ago,, below the fixtures. The sooner all payments are made, the sooner Marc can announce what the prize fund is, and, more importantly, how much will go to the charities YOU are supporting by taking part.

Fixtures below. Picks should be mailed to cqnpredictor@gmail.com or via Whatsapp

  15. My overriding emotion even now after today’s game is relief.

Thank you Celtic; a massive 3 points.

Why don’t we ask SKY and BT to fund clubs with plastic pitches to change back to grass. The plastic ones should be got rid of, if not next season, then the following.

    Wonderful.

    Absolutely wonderful.

That history records Celtic 1 – Kilmarnock 0 is the only thing that matters today.

I wish I could just accept it as a good victory for my team and leave it at that.

However the schadenfreude is too good to be true.

Every Hun in the land will have been on the edge of their seats.

First, an ex-Hun sells the jersey’s; then the timing of the goal; the manner of the goal; the scorer of the goal.

    Karma.

Go read the BBC report of the game.

    Enjoy it.

  18. That game was a hard watch today and i was delighted with the win. A tricky place to go and get a result. However, those astorgrass pitches have no place in scotland’s top flight if we want to be taken seriously. The sfpl set all sorts of creteria for top flight clubs, the first shoypd be a grass pitch.

The astrograss pitches are so poor, they are unhelpful to playing the game the way it is intended. It also must be a hell of a turn off for the wider television audience.

We have a top flight of 12 teams and only 3 premier spfl teams have these pitch. Surely the clubs would be happy to vote new rules against such poor pitch. Better pitches equals better product and likely better games and more entertainment.

Ps if hamilton go down it will only be 2 teams with astrograss pitches.

  21. David66 – a quick glance at their forums (fora?) would suggest that we did. However there are significant numbers who appear to have upped their dose of the brain damaging drug ‘deludemol’ such is their faith in their squad being ‘nearly there’.

Those who have stuck with alcohol and more traditional mind bending substances have noticed that they are still sh1t3 and that slippy is a charlatan. Although they remain convinced that they ‘are the people’.

  24. If anything hit Boyd, that’s unacceptable. However, as he was on the bench it must have come from the stand housing the home support, as the Celtic supporters were at either end behind the goals?

  25. GFTB,

There’s nae enough ink in the predictor typewriter to print the names of all the contestants who’ve chosen to get into bed with Der Hun……shocked, so a uhm ! But then, as someone sitting in 54th place in the table, I’m in no position to be critical of anyones choices ???

  26. Scott Brown deserved his second yellow. I have no argument with that. I am glad our team showed unconstrained emotion at the goal and at the end of the game.

It demonstrates that they care, do not live in a bubble and they are at one with the fans. If ever a yellow was worth it, this was it.

However our unbridled joy and emotion seemed at odds with quite a bit of our lethargic play. That was my thoughts anyway.

    HH, the journey continues.

  27. GP

Broonie knew he would get a yellow but he didn’t deserve one, there is no rule that allows huns to do the same and not get one and we do, that’s what happens in scotland, Celtic like the huns did the other week should appeal it sighting morelos at Livi doing the same thing and not getting booked, pointless but at least it asks the question.

  28. Bateen Bhoy 8.58pm

Earlier footage showed Boyd warming up outside the dugouts getting stick from Celtic fans behind him. Later slow motion footage on Sportshun showed a coin harmlessly hitting him on the arm. I would have no doubt believing it was a Celtic fan as Boyd has set himself up as critic -in-chief of all things Celtic , and a major Media negatonian when it comes to our club . He should mind his own business and put the coin in his pie fund.

There’s a reason why I’ve only ever been in a bookies shop once, and that was for work ?

I know many have wrestled with the dilemma, but they’re only playing the game. If I’m homest, it’s just a bit of fun for me – I entertain no thoughts of winning. I got a nosebleed after sharing the lead for the first couple of weeks ?
