  3. *REPOST FROM OLD THREAD*

I think that all of us on here were assuming that Jozo would not feature tonight because of the artificial surface. So that’s the only concern for me. Had tonight’s game been on grass I’d have been delighted with the team and the (presumed) 3-5-2 formation, something I’ve been hoping for for some time.

My understanding is that Jozo CAN play fine on tonight’s surface but that it’s not too good for his legs! Maybe he’s taking one for the team ;-)

And maybe Jozo will be the recipient of some of your votes – thew polls will open around 9.40, cqnpoty@gmail.com .

At least we have a couple of defenders on the bench if Jozo has to come off , and Taylor is well used to playing on Behar’s best.

  5. more tinkering with the team – a gamble or strategy? Taylor knows this surface , therefore surprising he doesn’t start. Jozo has had basically no competitive game time for months , Ayer hasn’t played for weeks.

This is a gamble , lets hope it pays off

  6. No Rogic. That’s disappointing or us.

No Shved. That must be extremely disappointing for him. What’s he doing wrong?

Anyways, 4 goals away from home will do nicely. Although any scoreline that is better than TheRangers will be fine by me.

  7. To work Celtic :-)

    Solid back 3

    Sound 5 in middle

    Favourite 2 up front

    Go to it Celtic

    Work for that victory

  8. Very surprised at the line up but we do need to keep players fresh too and not stick to t the status quo.

As has been mentioned, the bench could easily change this formation and it is a team game after all.

    Give this mob a doin’.

    Good team.

    A goalie and 10 guys.

Think I’ll head out to the pub and see how they get on.

    Hail hail.

    Keep The Faith

  10. Well that’s a stupid stat. Sky just put up that we have conceded 62% of our goals from set pieces. The next team was 29%.

Why is it a stupid stat?

Because it depends how many goals you concede. If you only concede 1 goal in the season and it’s from a set piece then you will have a 100% record.

    Meaningless.

    Good team.

Sumbdy from the wummin’s team in goals !???

This is a defining game of the season tonight. One advantage of the 3-5-2 I supposes is defending set-pieces with three good heading defenders playing. I think also that the 3-5-2 might be a ploy to mix things up in terms of giving technically inferior opponents something new to think about tactically. I am confident that the 3 of Calmac, Broonie and Ntcham will help control the game tonight, but can we break them down? As I say. perhaps NL feels we have become a tad predictable and easy to deter with our 4-2-3-1 so I am all for some variation. A biggie tonight in terms of getting the points and setting us up for a challenging Jan and Feb.

  13. We better win tonight to restore shaken confidence but Rugby Park on plastic would not be my arena of choice.

With apologies I’m reposting from previous just to correct a popular misconception about Eric Riley’s holdays.

    AULDHEID on 22ND JANUARY 2020 7:25 PM

    Back to basics.

One of the popular misconceptions on social media is Eric Riley’s holiday.

He indeed was on holiday when an important decision was taken but that was in Feb 2013 when SPL Board were deciding whether or not to appeal the LNS Decision.

They didnt and Eric was not part of that decision which is lucky for him.

However as to his whereabouts on 26/27th July unless he was visiting the same place as in 2012 chances are the e mail arrived.

The thot plickens in that in 2014 Eric was delivered a copy of the HMRC documents of Feb 2011accusing RFC of negligent or fraudulent behaviour iro the WTC as an SPL Board member but with no apparent effect on Celtic’s position of “surprise”.

He was also reminded of 5 Way conditions at an SPFL Board meeting in Oct 2013 just before the Res12 AGM.

We have to assume Sevco are going to win their games and make sure we do the same (while hoping they don’t , obviously).

  15. jimbob71 & little Miss jimbob on

Right Celtic, I’ve said a couple of times today that this Kilmarnock team is hopeless and we’re much better so prove me right!!! :-)

    0-3

  16. So our 62% of goals conceded from set pieces = 8 goals

    Kilmarnock 29% = 7 goals.

Makes you wonder why the didn’t ask the reason Kilmarnock lose so many goals from open play.

  17. Celtic TV coming through bright and clear, so no need to endure a dodgy Sky stream and even divider commentary.
