    A dominant win against Kilmasonic…overshadowed by the Griff…predictable SMSM..his tape was shurikens…eyes were lost…blah

    What I really enjoyed about the game was interplay between griffs and Eddie it was good to see Eddie not surrounded by 4 defenders now two up front

     

     

    Playing two up front brings the whole play another 10 metres or so towards their goal ( not good to play that way away from home in Europe , but two up front in SPFL is a must )

     

     

    Of course Griffs takes the playing spot of a certain James Forrest , who although was injured , James takes the position of the 2nd striker , but as he is not a combative type of player and plays wide ride and vanishes for a lot of games , griffs playing with Eddie will make such a difference. 11 v 11. Extra bite upfront Help for Eddie

     

     

    Eddie will Score more and griffs will get at least ten

     

     

    Unsure why we brought on the wee Johnston. He is just not ready and also vanishes in games

    Good solid team performance last night, with a new system, some relatively new personell (Griff and Jozo) and a dodgy pitch and Ref so a good night.

     

     

    I hope young Frimpong is going to be ok, Power had one intention to take the player out, he mouths to Broonie he won the ball, he only got a touch on the ball as the young yin tried to play ball up line and ball hit off Power’s sole, so he did not win the ball, the ball hit him, so he was hell bent on taking the man out. All my opinion of course.

     

     

    So we have Soro, how long does it take to get the work permits required??? Does anyone know??

     

     

    I hope our injury list starts to clear up soon and give Lenny a good squad to pick from.

     

     

    Oh and Boyd was disgraceful last night it was a personal attack on LG.

     

    Leigh should stop making gestures though to fat bigots and should not have through his sock tape into the crowd as it gives the smsm ammunition.

    Yes, the pitch had definitely previously been wider and longer. But it wasn’t altered for this game. And it would have to have been altered before the start of the season.

    Boyd, reading from an autocue for stats, voice trembling, began by saying Griff had only played thirty odd games in 136 possible, He mentioned that in his opinion managers didn’t fancy him.

     

     

    He chose to completely ignore the mental issue that Leigh has had as the big part of his absence. This from a person who’s brother committed suicide and is a patron of a mental health charity.

     

     

    It was sly, dirty and low down. Exactly what I expect from a zombie.

    I said a couple of times yesterday Killie were hopeless and we would take them away.

     

     

    We did. Job done. Only downsides are Frimpong but hopefully he will be fine and I wanted a clean sheet.

     

     

    Kilmarnock pitch lines. They have been like that since the start of the season.

    Good result last night , but never felt that we were in full control of the game. How Hayes gets a start is beyond me. He contributes absolutely nothing going forward and defensively is a nightmare

    When he had his 1st stint with the huns, I had some drinking friends who were Huns….and they hated him despite his goals as they saw him as being Fat and Lazy.

    I am a Fan of Jonny Hayes, but his final ball last night was poor.

     

    In the first 10 minutes we saw Leigh Griffiths, French Eddy and Big Julian ALL losing the footing on that surface, so I am happy to excuse any Celtic player last night who may not have played as well as usual.

     

     

    I also seem to remember a certain Davie Cooper of the Huns having a coin thrown at him during a match v Falkirk …or maybe St Johnstone….and Cooper throwing it back into the crowd with some force and hitting a young home fan…i dont remember cooper being punished….I could be wrong ?

    Yes….and it also gives ammunition to the `Both sides get away with murder`school of thought. For that reason, I wouldn`t be dreadfully disappointed if Griff gets a one game ban. I would, of course, be disapponted for the man himself but I you`ll see my point, I`m sure.

    He shouldn’t have done it but I found it a bit comical to be honest the Griffiths thing. The first reaction of the nearest Killie fan in the vicinity was to look behind either for backup from other Killie fans or to decide how raging he should be. Quickly piped down when no one else really cared but the type who would have been swept along with the crowd screaming abuse if he could have had a bit of anonymity.

    For the second game in a row, we managed to retain possession from most of our throw-ins. In fact the only time I noticed that we lost possession, was ironically from long throw “expert” Moritz Bauer.

     

    To add to our blue moon (sorry) moments, we also scored directly from a corner, and it was a beauty too.

     

    In fact, we looked far more threatening at corners, than we have for years. Two factors at play there I think. Griff has a better delivery than any other player on our books, and playing three giants at the back, obviously means that the corner taker has more targets to find, and the defending team has more threats to defend.

     

    I thought playing two up front, was a success, and as Eddie and Griff are both intelligent players, there were signs that they could form a dangerous partnership moving forward.

     

    I feel that 3-5-2 is a good system for us to play, at least in the SPFL, our fullbacks tend to be too offensive, to play 4-2-3-1, and as a result we are vulnerable to counter attacks in the wide areas. Playing that way. 3-5-2 gives us more cover against a counter attack, and also means the wing backs have less tracking back to do. Because of this I thought Frimpers’ energy levels held up, and he was a threat, as an attacking player, right throughout the game, at least until brutality cut his evening short. Jamesie should benefit too, when he returns to the first team.

     

    My three for Jobo were the two strikers, and Ajer, who also benefited from being part of a three man defence, and was able to make his signature thrusts into enemy territory with more intent, knowing there were two defenders behind him.

     

    There was a lot of pressure on the coaches and players as we returned to league duties, and Rugby Park has not seen many decent Celtic performances of late. Before the game I felt I might have to watch it through cracks in my fingers from behind the couch. But no, I never had any doubt about a favourable result right from the off. Well played Lenny, well played Celtic.

     

    Final word to the away support, who played their part. They were vocal and supportive throughout, and Jullien commented on their positive impact on performance and result, in his post match interview. Hopefully, on Saturday, the home crowd can get behind the team in the same manner, and have a positive effect on the teams’ performance, rather than add tension, on an already tense league race.

    Watched last nights game in the pub. Skys coverage is absoloutely dire . I have nothing against Steve Clark but hes not exactly a bundle of laughs . That combined with Boyds crabbit coupon always looking for a negative angle makes it all a hard watch . Looking at the two of them , body language etc you would think they had just this minute come back from a funeral. Could nt pick what they were saying quite a lot of times but they certainly were’nt cracking jokes . Just heard Boyd going on about our Leigh …………way way out of order , the guy is just a bitter rent a gob out to please the hordes at ibrox . I wanna see intelligent guys talking seriously about our game . Michael Stewart for me is the standout and the type of guy that should be on the panels not wee bitter fan boys. Celtic should come out and say something about Sky and Boyd , but we know they wont

    Sky sports coverage of Celtic games is woeful, not just bad but biased. Subscription cancelled two weeks ago. It’ll be BT and Celtic tv commentary by the end of the month from here on in.

     

     

    On the game last night, we were never in danger of dropping points and it was a good start to these run of away games. We’ve nothing to fear.
