“As far as Rangers (IL) and the new club, The Rangers, Celtic reiterated that they have an absolute “stand-alone” policy and have previously stated this in writing. JPT will supply us with a copy of that statement. Celtic also commented on the liquidated club in 2012 and JPT will also provide details of that. (These statements will be put up on CQN when we receive them.)”

Celtic do not need to rely on any other club or institution for their business plan to succeed. Our commercial and marketing endeavours are based upon Celtic and Celtic alone. The “brand” is Celtic Football Club and nothing else. There is no “Old Firm”.
Theres is no need for anything or anyone else to make us successful on or off the the pitch.
Celtic no longer go into any joint ventures or sponsorships with any other club (e.g. no joint shirt sponsors).

BIG JIMMY, TONTINE TIM,
I also remember those days of the Weejuns, but I thought I got them from Saxone’s on Buchanan Street. There was another shop up there who sold the Vyella shirts. I didn’t do Arthur Black’s. Then there were Clydella shirts followed by Ben Sherman. Suits were made to measure by Hepworths in Union Street. I think the widest flares I had were 24 inches.

Just home from a rather good Sunday session.

Every day is a school day , including CQN. I was unaware of the Catholic connection with West Ham. Having lived in the east end for nearly4 years in the mid eighties, the Irons became my team of choice. I sampled every stadium and team available.
The ground , atmosphere , football culture , with emphasis on home grown players struck a cord. Not in the Celtic , take your breath away , life meaning scenario. Just an appreciation. I’ve been fortunate to discuss this with Frank McAvennie . He played there at the same time and gets it.
We agreed that Alan Devonshire was a graceful player. Similar to our own Tommy Burns but in no way comparable. Especially with life time input.
Interestingly I recall a survey in Not The View that had West Ham as a favourite of Tims above the usual 2nd English teams like Man U , Everton or Liverpool.
Never been to a West Ham game since I left London but still appreciate what they gave ,despite huge misgivings about the current owners.
Big Jimmy. 6.35. Hate is a strong word. A common word used to describe Chelsea , as well on here. Let me enlighten you. Very few give a toss. The knuckle draggers , have a percentage in every support. Chelsea just have a slightly higher but insignificant number.

Well done on this initiative, it’s a progressive move.
A wee question.
Based on the questions you received do you feel that Celtic’s answers were reflective of what was actually asked?

I must be younger than the usual demographic on here- all the talk of the clothes shops was of styles before my time. Did no one else get a leather safari jacket made to measure by Skint, shop as a wean in Krazy House or get your first suit at Gilt Edged?

Hi Bhoys
Looking at those so called answers from John Paul or should i say (the club).
It’s easy to see there is indeed some politicians at the club and they seem to have been giving free tutorials in answering straight forward questions. Whatever happened to aye or naw.
Any bets on when we will be “absolutely sure” about what is best for our club, Celtic?
Still feels like the Emperor’s new clothes though.
How come we cannot state simply that the new club, created in 2012, cannot be the old club, 1872, because that still technically exists, in Liquidation?
Anyway on a happier note. I noticed some chat re trip to Lisbon in May 2017.
Is there an official CQN trip?
I’ve already booked and will be in Estadio Nacional on May 25, 2017, god willing, but would be up for joining our group in Lisbon, were there to be one. Last I heard,( at the CQN Open), was Oldtim trying to get BRTH to charter a flight.
I’m sure we, CQN, will be well represented in Lisbon next year. I just don’t want to miss it.

Also i hope i’m wrong but his final tweet thanking everyone who voted for him had a distinct feel of finality about it and I just wonder if we will here from him again.

I seem to remember Celtic playing a testimonial game in which Clyde Best played in at Upton Park ( 3-3 ?). Maybe it was for Clyde Best ?
I had a West ham strip as a wee boy in the mid 1960’s, but as I say for sometime now I’ve never liked their fans, and the bubble song !
Hope that clears that up Bhoys ?
