I’ve spent 5 minutes trying to find the new article

This is becoming a chore and more bother than it’s worth

Not to disheartened we should have won easily with several squad players in the team who shone up well in my opinion

Never a penalty killie player dived quite clearly & the ref couldn’t get his card out

    fast enough to give it

    Few points about that post-

    Which squad players shone?

Those who weren’t 1st XI right now were (I think)- AMBROSE- He was dire (again); JANKO- 6/10; Rogic- Wasteful; McGregor- Nothing special.

Never a penalty??? Yes, it was IMHO. Might have been soft, but it was a pen. I can only imagine the outcry on CQN if the ref had denied us that at the other end.

You aren’t too disheartened? Well, I’m not saying it’s the end of the world. In fact, as we all should remember, it’s only a game. BUT- the laissez faire attitudes of some fans reflect that of PL and the board- the bare minimum will do for them.

However, Celtic FC should still be hammering Kilmarnock with a team like tonight (consisting of a majority of first teasers). We should have a replacement in each position better than any of Kilmarnock FC’s players. End of.

PS- I am not seeking an argument with you- I just totally disagree with your post!!

As for my tuppence worth on the match-

CG- Still best keeper we’ve had in quite a while (and I include FF)

    VVD- A rose amongst thorns.

Ambrose- (I repeat) was dire. He has not improved one iota over the past couple of seasons. He is a total liability.

Izzy- How frustrating. I sometimes love him, but his defensive play WILL be exposed in Europe.

Janko- An athlete. Hard to judge on such limited appearances, but I think he will come good. Maybe further up the pitch.

Forrest- best display in ages. I’m one of his critics but hats off for tonight, wee man. Keep it up.

Johansen- Utterly anonymous tonight. SB covers for him so often. Ronny never seems to take him off. Teacher’s pet. Better pull the finger out.

KC- Hope he gets back soon. One of few to unlock defences. One of few to turn possession stats into goal chances.

GMS- I’m repeatedly (not) seeing GMS going AWOL in games. Needs to improve. He also is defensively very suspect in terms of his positioning and lack of tracking back.

Bitton- Loving this guy. Our Busquets. Great goal, son.

    Rogic- Poor (see above)

Griff- bar the goal, was poor. No doubt frustrated in second period of first half when he was getting no service, but wouldn’t have scored a 2nd in a week

The performance was reflective of so many of our games- loads of possession and half chances, but little end product of real value.

We definitely need a decent striker of we want to move on. PL will not authorise the required investment prior to Malmo. He will roll the dice (again) with what we have. This is not good enough. We need real ambition, rather than words of intent.

  4. Scott Allan. Signing in morning. Not sure if happy. His friend plays for my football team he’s a right Currant he said but money talks.

  5. weebobbycollins on

Starting to sound like a stuck record inside an echo chamber…”we need to take our chances, we could have scored 4 or 5, we must be more clinical” etc. etc. And we can’t continually blame the refs or the state of the pitches. If truth be told, we are an above average team in a very ordinary league. I imagine wee Del fae Aberdeen is a happy hun tonight.

    10.07 new article

I’m fooked if I will find it before midnight

I was disappointed when I read a conversation between P67 and estradiol national yesterday whe Paul admitted that adverts are paying for a retired journalist to put up the cqn magazine and news items

Not the cqn I signed up for

  7. Dont know about the home leg, but I fully expect Malmo to win at home.

We are pretty poor, I would fully expect a fourth place finish in any champions league group.

Unless things change and another 2 or 3 faces come in, we might be looking at the UEFA cup.

We are certainly no champions league team, that’s for sure.

  8. Do you know whit, am no happy, it was 7-1 going on ten in first half, never a penalty, we stroll on. Celtic to the core.

What a bunch of wooses and moaning minnies. John Collins remarks had nothing to do with it. Killie couldn’t live with us during the first half hour. They should have been 5-0 down and no one would have anything to say about JC. What cost us tonight was poor finishing, pure and simple.

    .

The pitch was dry and sticky and inhibited our passing game. The ref allowed more thuggery than the ref in Qarabag but there were positives. James Forrest, the guy I again stuck up for last week, gave his detractors plenty to think about. On that form he is well nigh unstoppable and Age Hareide will have to commit 2 or 3 players to stop him. Some of our attacking build ups were excellent but the aforesaid poor finishing let us down.

    .

Ronny would learn more from tonight’s game which, incidentally, was great entertainment, than he would if we had won 5-0.

    .

Armageddon is alive and well ……. or maybe not.

Must say, I can’t disagree with much of that!

  11. Blantyre,

I think you scroll back up at blogs and comments, press that and that brings the article up.

    Sorry if I’m wrong.

  12. The media/huns having worked themselves into orgasmic self justified reasons to cheat the Celts, did so tonight. This was the wake up call that we needed.

    Hail Hail.

  13. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

You could see that coming in the first half. Not the first Celtic team to capitulate as a result of problems of their own creation and won’t be the last, unfortunately.

But, I’m unhappy and have been for some time with our present manager’s set-up in the SPFL. We are set up not to score ie one forward, with a collection of mid-fielders who seldom convert. It’s a simple enough game and the lack of immediate and direct threat, inevitably costs us.

We watch the same movie, every week. Emelio, great going forward with the exception of that crucial delivery. The ball is as likely to be overhit as it is sliced. Is he coached, presumably, but the problem prevails and if he can’t change then he should be replaced.

I’m not getting at the Honduran, simply using him as an example. We have several similar, consistent issues in the team. Passing is another, or to be more accurate the inability to pass the ball. That malaise set in midway through the first half tonight and allowed Killie to get into the game.

But it’s the one forward issue that stymies Celtic just now. It leaves us slow and predictable. Those of you who attend the game will watch Celtic shuttle the ball around a lot ? Why is that ? Lack of forward options.

  14. Really enjoyed the match. A very old fashioned game!

Like watching Celtic 1963/4, great attacking play but far far too open.

Glad to see our Bhoys mad with themselves. Need to be 100% professional. Consistency of performance is paramount.

    JOHN,

Was that Clever and Fast enough for you?

I am not sure what was to be gained by making your statement but it was unprofessional.

You want your players to be professional both on and off the park. You only are required to be professional off it.

    How’s that six pack ?

  16. Celtic drop points away in an astonishly one sided 2-2 draw, and the classic cliché of ‘not putting them away’ caught Celtic, where you could see a Kilmarnock penalty from the minute both Izzaguire and A N Other entered the box, with the Celtic defender on the wrong side.

A giveaway by Celtic in a game that would have been stopped on 30 minutes if it had been a boxing match, but Celtic’s superior fitness, passing and ‘player resource ‘, comes up short in front of goal, in an all too familiar way.

Celtic will never get an easier free pass for an opening goal and every time they missed thereafter, hapless Killie were bound to get something after Collinsgate, a first half mauling ,two defeats and six goals on the bounce, but Killie suddenly found gaps with two of three attacks, in the first half.

Bitton’s wonder goal wasn’t enough, Rogic proved an reduced deputy for Brown and although James Forrest can now beat five players instead of four, he’ll always still be James Forrest. Like a rabbit in the headlights, he’d make a good rabbit, although he’s a ‘special talent’ the Celtic support are still left waiting in hope, at least till next Wednesday for when, he was whisked away and wrapped up to keep warm.

We’ll never know if Dedryck Boyata would have been on the right side of McGuinness, for the first goal, I somehow doubt he would, but Efe would get an internet whipping before a ball was kicked, in any case, wouldn’t he?

It’ll need to be a much better Celtic that take on Malmo, some of the fringe players won’t be there, with Ciftci only able to improve on his strike rate it’s got to get better than Leigh Griffiths one goal from six or seven chances tonight.

In fairness to Celtic are Kilmarnock now better than Qarabag? and do our players get bored beating ‘pub teams’ and ‘crap’, and listening to our diddy team Scandinavian manager?

    M.O.M Nir Bitton

p.s. Does Stefan Johansen practise how to miss with a pass?

  17. weet weet weet(GBWO) on

    Morning all

The other day I was cruising along as usual in my BMW coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars.

First off, I couldn’t believe that the volume of traffic DIDN’T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway! (The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.)

Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the BMW lane. (Why do underlings use this lane? Surely everyone knows it is for BMW drivers only?)

Anyway, once I was in the BMW lane and posing along at 110mph enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the BMW lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 70 mph!

Naturally, I got to within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn’t be in the BMW lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.

Of course, once he realised it was a BMW behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me! He also tried to keep up with me and when he realised I would out-run him, he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.

Needless to say, I was eager oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew – that my car goes fast! Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to take my driver’s licence to a Police Station to be sent away to have some points put on! (They’re not free points either – they’re ?20 each and I was only allowed 3.) But the man at the Police Station said that because I drive a BMW, it won’t be much longer before I earn the full 12 points, and then I won’t even NEED a driving licence, so they will take it off me! See, now THAT’s the sort of respect you get when you buy and drive a BMW.
