KING LOUIS SERVES A PUMPING, POTTY PEDRO LOSES THE PLOT, COMEDY GOLD AT HAMPDEN AS SUTTON SAYS ‘NO TINA TURNER ON THE SEVCO TEAM BUS!

CELTIC will play Motherwell in the Betfred League Cup Final at Hampden on Sunday, November 26.

The Fir Park men saw off Sevco Rangers amid disgraceful scenes in an extraordinary, bad-tempered semi-final encounter this afternoon.

The national stadium could have been the setting for a spaghetti western.

THE GOOD: Well frontman Louis Moult who netted the goals that put his side into the showdown against Brendan Rodgers’ holders next month.

THE BAD: An Ibrox team that couldn’t get to grips with their superior opponents and toppled meekly into the category of also-rans.

THE UGLY: Raging Pedro Caixinha who lost the plot completely on the touchline and was ordered to the stand by referee Steven McLean along with his Motherwell counterpart Stephen Robinson. The Portuguese Man of War can expect a lengthy dug-out ban. He has previous – just ask Scott Brown!

Potty Pedro tells everyone he is addicted to winning. Possibly his mastery of the English language is failing him. Does he mean addicted to whining?

Arms waving, eyes bulging, fingers pointing, the Ibrox coach went through the entire deranged repertoire before he was removed.

Meanwhile on the pitch, Motherwell were booking their place against the champions with a professional performance.

In the first-half, they had come closest to scoring when Ryan Jack got in the way of a drive from Cedric Kipres following a right-wing corner-kick.

Keeper Jak Alnwick thwarted Peter Hartley who attempted to latch onto the rebound.

Trevor Carson, the Fir Park club’s goalkeeper, hadn’t been unduly troubled throughout the opening 45 minutes.

Seven minutes after the turnaround, it was a case of “Didn’t they do well?” as the Lanarkshire outfit gained the advantage.

A second left-wing corner-kick from Chris Cadden was thumped against the crossbar by Hartley at the far post.

The ball dropped for Moult to divert back on target. Remarkably, Jack managed to materialise again under the crossbar to head clear, but the ball fell invitingly to the Well dangerman and this time he thrashed an effort into the roof of the net.

In the 64th minute, Pedro went into orbit when he claimed Ryan Bowman should have been ordered off after a mid-air clash with Fabio Cardoso. The Motherwell player had been booked in the first-half after a non-event with the Ibrox defender.

Cardoso, in fact, was fortunate not to be at least yellow-carded after an obvious elbow into the face of Moult that left the striker with blood seeping from a wound.

Possibly justice was done as Cardoso went off with blood gushing from a nose wound and had to be replaced by Ross McCrorie.

The match official had to bring an end to the ranting of Caixinha and he was dismissed and Robinson was invited to go with him from the technical area.

In the 74th minute, it was all over bar the baying. A clearance downfield saw Moult race away from the defence to deftly lift an exquisite lob over the head of the stranded Alnwick.

The ball sailed serenely into the top corner of the net and any dreams Sevco had of silverware – remote, it must be said – went with it as it arrived at its destination.

The snarling didn’t end there, of course. Skipper Bruno Alves was involved in a collision with Moult and TV pictures clearly showed the most experienced player on the pitch kicking out at his oppoent.

Moult replied in kind and was booked for his actions. Astoundingly, Alves didn’t even receive a word of warning.

Surely the Compliance Officer will look at the evidence in retrospect?

Maybe the sun will be blotted out by flying pigs.

Pedro came into this game talking about vampires and needing blood. Now he knows what it’s like to be a sucker.
