Rumour has it that prior to their play-off second leg against Hamilton Accies last season Terry Butcher spoke to his Hibs players about their prospective lap of honour. It was fatal. Two goals up from the first leg away from home, he thought the job was done. Hibs were relegated despite having fourth highest wages in the division.
Scottish football is more competitive, healthier, than most would give it credit for. As yesterday’s Scottish Cup Final demonstrated. Two towns, emptied of most able bodied adults, urged their team onto what would be an historic win, whichever way it went.
John Hughes is a very modest man. He speaks highly of his peers and considers himself someone who does the obvious things thoroughly. Maybe knowing your limitations is the first step to achieving greatness. I was delighted for him. His predecessor at Inverness, Terry Butcher, flattered to deceive.

Wrong side of Ugly
Dreadful half of football.
But I’ll gladly suffer another one exactly the same.

Stone?

okay so far – even tho motherwell haven’t really kicked a ball.
There was discussion earlier about Celtic’s 77/78 side,
they would have cleaned the floor wae these 2 side’s

“Stone” ?
It’s been like a typical Sunday Pub League game.
First time I have seen Sevco was in the first tie against Murderwell . Now today.
They are really, really, really, really p@sh.

Well have had the two best chances
45 minutes from one heck of a party, or should I start noo ?
decisions decisions
Another 45mins like the first will do me, alternatively a Scott McDonald hat-trick would be even better

Like watching two pub teams.
Just said to the Sevconian wife it’s like watching 2 drunks argue whose round it is (I have been in that position far too many times) zero football on show…. I am loving it, perfect scenario they are both mince but the Well stay up
If Motherwell as still leading by two with only minutes to go, at least one deadboy will be sent off. Similar game to Thursday. Deadboys have more posession but lack quaility in last third. Motherwell lumping it forward a lot but look decent at times on break.
3 yellow cards to the tribute act is very surprising, Elbows will have to watch his elbows in the 2nd half
if Murderwell get through the first 20 mins intact then they will be able to hit them on the break in the latter stages
please get through this, at least another year without that lot would be a wonderful way to end the season
Listened to last 20 mins on shortbread, Hun did not dive to be booked and it was a penalty. Turned off and not going back!
After 6 minutes Boydchenko had a shot and the commentator said, ‘a tentative prod there’, is he allowed to say that????
Ainsworth is the player I thought would give them bother. He’s been anonymous.
Boyd
He looks like an extra from yon ” only fools and horses ” episode in France where everyone looked like Uncle Albert.
The only important thing today is the huns remaining in the lower divisions, where they belong (only 3rd in the championship let’s not forget)
The last thing I am looking for is entertainment!
Well defenders have a bad habit of giving the bail away just outside their own area.

Try and hold on for another 55mins
Lennybhoy if lurking your present still hasn’t been opened but i am thinking about getting it corked today if a wee team from North Lanarkshire stay in the top league
” Dick ” Wilson on Shortie claiming for non existent penalty
as is his tag partner Deek Fergushun totally ridiculous but there hurt is a joy ::)))
I predict a mad 45 minutes. Zombies are becoming increasingly desperate.
If they get one goal, they’ll get another.
Then again, if they don’t sub McCullough, he’ll get sent off.
Then again, even if they do get promoted, their criminal chairman will have to spend the entire 40 million pound war chest in one go, just to keep them up.

I hope you have to eat your words – but in a nice way :-)
Hmm- my rough foul count (sounds rude) Mothers – 6 fouls given against them.
Sevco- 13 fouls including 3 yellows!
Pearo- missed possible yellow.
Zaliukas – possible red.
Not how I thought it would go with Thomson.
Still. …2nd half can change that :-)
Prestonpans
The tackle wasn’t inside the box
Art of war
I think Wallace should have been booked early in the match …
Rangers will do well to finish this game with 11 players on the park.
Why do they only show the Motherwell dressing room? Is it in case we see McCall giving CT a team talk?
boyds IQ is the wrong side of thirty
PFAyr –
Agreed. How Wallace wasn’t booked for that early foul is beyond me.
might tune in tae snyde or shortie if the muthers stay up, any advice on which one will be hurting the most ?
