Krasnodar fans on Kouassi Eboue

314

Our man Zbyszek joined a Krasnodar fan website last night to ask about Celtic signing target, Kouassi Eboue, from Ivory Coast. Here are some of the comments he got back:

“He has good technical skills, is fast and is good in the air. He’s shown to be comfortable in hard, dirty, games. At 19-years-old, he needs a good coach for his next step forward. I think the guy has a wonderful future ahead of him (or I know nothing about the game).”

Zbyszek asked why Krasnodar are selling Eboue:

“Krasnodar have a Financial Fair Play axe hanging over their heads. They have no money to strengthen the team and are in debt. They are also limited in the number of foreigners they have have in the squad.”

Eboue gave a recent interview to a Russian newspaper where he said:

“I’m always ready to play whichever position the coach things best, whether as a defensive midfielder or in the attacking zone. I feel I can grow as a player by becoming more involved in the attacking game, my coaching now concentrates more on this part of play.”

Kouassi grew up in a poor village near Dabou, in Ivory Coast. He first kicked a football at 5 and was invited to a local academy at 10. By 15 he received his first invitation abroad – Armenia, where he moved three years ago.

Krasnodar coach, Oleg Kononov, took an interest in Eboue, who trained with the club for a few weeks before making the move ro Russia formal in May 2014.

The player turned 19 less than a month ago, so his rise to an established first-team player in the Russian Premier League has been rapid. This has been a challenging deal for Celtic, a lot more so than scouting the best breaking through at Tannadice.

“The club have been absolutely brilliant in terms of all the staff,” Rodgers told radio station TalkSport. “They don’t have the money up here. Celtic get a couple of million a year from TV money – down there you are getting £100m if you finish bottom. So absolutely every penny that we get in here at Celtic has to be worked for.”

I believe Brendan`s version of the atmosphere in which he operates .

  2. Ye know what…..?

Maybe, at long last,….these players that the Cellic are reputedly being linked with,….is thee way to go ?

Maybe, just maybe,…these players who are being brought in under Brendan’s watch will turn out to be a conveyor belt of diamonds….right up there with the ‘Quality Street Kids’…..hmmmm ?

The big difference this time – a manager who knows what he’s doing – that’s key.

Ye see, these players are going to be tested against what I would call, fish in a barrel quality of opposition.

I know that that will sound demeaning but, maybe it’s more realistic…?

Ah mean, if Cellic are shooting fish in a barrel,….well, one of the next questions in the queue will probably be, how good are Cellic really ?…How good is Brendan really ?…..Who cares as long as, the huns are being skelped with aplomb, season tickets are all sold, League Cup is already won, we’re looking good for a treble, the Green Brigades ‘ninetoes’ thingy is rocking stadiums wherever the Cellic play, Res:12 has still to come down the track, the huns look like they’ll kick the bucket, Batman wanted a selfie taken inside Cellic Park….ah mean, only magical words can be used to describe where the Cellic are at at the minute.

Sign who ye want Brendan, you’ll find a way to make them fit into this big Cellic picture that yer painting, squirrel or not.

One wee issue with ye Brendan.

Oh, make that, two wee issues.

    1. Just how good are you really when, ye hivny got the stuff to bring out the best in Nadir Cifcti ?….Ah mean, big Armstrong had lost his way at Cellic Park and then,…..you appeared and,….flicked a switch and,….now look at him….he’s heading in the same direction as, Petrov and Burley who were essential cogs in the Cellic machines of they’re times at the club. Armstrong should provide you with the ‘benchmark’ for big Cifcti….imho.

    2. What have ye done with Big Efe ? Big Efe is a Jungle player, in more ways than one…don’t ye know that, Big Efe could be yer very own Yaya….right under yer nose as well…hmmm…?

    Anyway,……

Thoughts and Prayers for all CQN Celts

and they’re close one’s who are in need.

I’m not sure of what to think on this. A short term trade, for a quick profit?

There is a danger in signing more and more internationals to a team. You know them all.

My main concern is that he’s not a young punk and that he will have a strong hand on his shoulder.

    SMSM n awe that.

  5. Eboue’s arrival surely has the hand – or word – of Toure written all over it?

Cant see Bitton being in next year’s team photo. But not sure he’d be let go right now, when the young man is just off the plane from Russia.

What a delight to see your name on the blog this morning! Hope you are well.

    Hail hail.

In other news, I see John James claimed yesterday that he has exiled himself to the Far East…just a couple of weeks after stating that he had exiled himself to England (despite giving the impression on numerous occasions that he already resided in or around the M25). Today he has posted the wording of a letter he supposedly sent to the FCA. The writing style of the letter is a bit embarrassing and I doubt it will get much response from the FCA (if it is indeed real). Something has always felt not quite right about him.

    Victor was outstanding last night.

The commentators said his role in the victory was every bit as important as Dele Allis.

Our 3 big transfers to Southampton have all done exceptionally well. That can only bode well for Celtic.

John James has never convinced as a Rangers fan.

I sussed early on that he was a false front though I could not work out his motivation. His attempts at disguise have been less and less careful as the months have gone on.

He may be brave in what he states but he is also reckless. I think we need more sober and considered voices to truly make the charges stick.

I’d agree with all of that.

At one point I thought he was a front for one of the other Ibrox “stakeholders” who are trying to return Glibby’s Charlotte Fakes compliment (Ashley? Easdales?). Not convinced of that either but it’s more plausible than a Rangers fan trying to open eyes…

  12. It’s pretty common for Celtic bloggers of the notable variety to be targeted by thugs of a certain persuasion. I would not be surprised by any hooligan corporate heads to be linked to the web of evil and corruption that is linked to Mordor. It takes courage beyond the call of duty to stand in face of this. Too many times we have seen bloggers receive credible and or actual threats to their person and families.

  13. John James – threatens to close down on a regular basis unless people pay him cash. Clickbait. A guy on the make.

  14. how can Huns afford a player on loan? they can’t even afford the insurance! John James? Never a rangers person. No Hun turns on their own…. its part of their brotherhood

  15. ps I hope Henderson and Christie get some game time …I still can’t believe mcgregor gets a game.. he is posted missing at every opposition attack. ..never tracks back lets them get in box unmarked.

  16. John James broke the blog from Exile!

Like a number of Sevco ‘doom sayers’ there has never a concrete fact which has actually transpired as it was described, if at all. VAT, water, EBT demands hitting rugs etc.

As far as I’m aware blogs unless otherwise locked to paying subscribers are free. I don’t think it’s helpful for anyone to start a blog with a sense of entitlement and I’m not sure if he really has this or perhaps he is just in a dark place at the moment and for good reason.

  21. I’ll be delighted if Kouassi comes and wins a permanent place in the team. My hope would be that this is the case.

Although when he does come in and secure a positiion I hope he is not too brilliant, especially since some think he may be here to take over the Scott Brown role in the team. Because if he is too brilliant and Broony runs out of time at the same time then Kouassi’s puntiness will see us without any cover in this position and thus looking for a new recruit with high level puntiness to secure the postiion and again sell on to then have to secure another recruit with high level puntiness.

The problem being, we never get a in bedded team again as all our recruits are of puntiness value.

So I hope he is good, strong, safe and brilliant but hopefully his attributes fly under the radar if this is the case.

But then again, it may be great to boast about how much money we turn over for ever and day from puntiness rather than build a solid team capable of competing at a higher level. A team that consistently makes it to the last 16 of the CL for ever more but that is it.

So how do you recruit good players that can qualify for the last 16 without their performances attracting the attention of other clubs?? Football being a buying and selling business and Celtic having always been a selling club.

Celtic & Eboue agreed a 4.5yr deal, £12k p/w, the fee is £2.3m, Celtic expect WP to be rejected but will definitely get it on appeal.

  24. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Brendan has already told Celtic supporters what he will do this January plan for next season’s CL qualifiers and hopefully the CL proper.

Those he signs will be done on that basis,

A little surprised at the muted reaction to Eboue, given the success of Kieran and Moussa.

  25. Starry

    I got it.

We should be following the model at Sevco and signing 37 year olds with no sell on value or value at all.

    that’s the way to go.

  27. I’m hearing that after discussions on Radio Snyde with regards the value of competition for 1st place in the SPFL a second winners trophy will be handed out this year to the tteam that finishes second as long as that is Sevco. this trophy will come with a cheque to keep them afloat and a place in the Champions League semi final were if they fail to win through to the final they will be awarded the EL cup.

  28. MOONBEAMSWD

I have no interest in who they sign, I was surprised to read your reaction to Brendan’s first signing early in the window as well.

It would be remiss of him to sign a player that had no sell on value unless of course said player was for a specific time frame and purpose a la Kolo.

Brendan has laid out the position we’re in clearly and how he will go about his job so unless the Brendan Shine is wearing off I’m not quite sure what you’re griping about??
