Kris Boyd comments best thing to happen to Celtic

The thought was put to me this morning that Kris Boyd’s ill-considered comments on the Celtic squad – that they are divided – could be the best thing that happened to the team this season.  Football clubs and footballers perform best with a ‘them’ to work against.  We had this briefly under Ronny, when Aberdeen kept in touch for five months of the season, but since then we have pretty much had the run of the place.

Boyd is a professional footballer playing in the same league as Celtic.  When an opponent comments on you or your team, the words carry greater resonance than they otherwise would.  I doubt newspaper clippings are pinned to dressing room doors, but everyone at Lennoxtown will have reacted to what a Kilmarnock player has said about them.

Then we had the “Aston Villa make their move” for Brendan Rodgers tat.  Brendan will leave Celtic eventually, but the entire planet knows it will not be for a team 15th placed in the Championship.  It is no indication of his or Celtic’s worth and insulting to suggest otherwise.

Footballers and managers are best with a point to prove.  Celtic are capable of winning every domestic game between now and the winter break.  Whatever has gone on at Lennoxtown this season, recent comments have given the squad plenty of motivation.

Ha ha…… McLeish the ‘Scottish equivalent of Bertie Vogts’.

More like the Scottish equivalent of Bernie Madoff………………only successful when screwing the taxman and other creditors.

  3. BGFC my sentiments entirely very sad when you don’t care about your nation’s results. I have friends in the Tartan Army who go to every game but are slowly but surely drifting away

  4. Wish KT, JF and calmac would abandon this lost cause. Best thing for us would be to let the SFA pick a team from newco and Hearts and let them revel in their hunnish failures.

We are not wanted. We are being treated with disdain. Why bother?

So no action taken, just accept its a good thing there’s a venue and date and get back in your box little man. Oh, and keep pumping you money into the Plc cause we are the club

Scotland fortunate that they have a top quality governing organisation who search high and low for the best manager out there.

Think how bad they might be if they had just gone and appointed an unemployable serial failure pal of the head honcho……

  7. OMG

McLeish talking as though he is oot his nut on Radio Scotland. Mental that this EBT cheat has the job he has. Where is my mind?

    Pixies CSC

see when your nations results are only important when its football and not infant mortality then there is a problem, do you know the infant mortality rate for Scotland compared to other european countries?

  10. Just saw Kieran’s OG on the news . He’s curled up on the ground obviously devastated, not one of the nearby teammates went near him to give consolation, says it all really.

Pog.. make your views known, no reason to accept that answer without further qualification on intended action

  12. Scottish football now looks like a parody of only an excuse.

Big Feckless living up to expectations.

MSSM already polishing their anti KT and Griff to blame headlines.

Comedy Central here in USA hoping to turn the SFA and their cohorts into a tv comedy series like the office.

  13. As regards McLeish I met him in his pre-hun days and he was an alright guy but under no circumstances should he be in the post he is in for all of the following reasons, apart from being a poor manager:

    1. He walked out on his country

    2. He is a tax cheat

    3. He either has dependency issues or he is ill

    4. If he is ill he should not be in a high pressure (stop laughing at the back) job

    5. If you sack your reasonably successful manager then you need to replace him with someone of at least equal or better abilities

That Ewan McGregor rant should be attached to a musical score, and become the new Scottish National Anthem. ?Magic

I can perfectly well understand the loathing my fellow Tims have towards the hun-centic Scottish fitba ` institutions , however I could never permit the huns to determine my attitude to anything.

That would allow them to control my thinking .

    I`ll always support Scotland.

    It`s in my genes.

    Having said that , I`m afraid that Eck`s a serial loser .

I told him in my e-mail if I didn’t receive a suitable response then I would be reconsidering my financial support of the Club. The only money I will be spending in future will be in support of the Foundation and supporter food bank collections.

How is Eck a serial loser Ffs ?

Give him and the SFA a chance ?

Sack the new guy, Maxwell and get the likes of Neil McCann or even Gordon smith back as Chief exec ?

Being series here for the mo.

Pog the writing was confirmed when Scotrail were salivating at the prospect of the Celtic support having to stump up for the Sunday trip.

there are other charities that need your money that don’t use it as an affirmation of any Plc’s “more than a club” indoctrination PR.

Sorry, but nothing they do invokes trust, any more. Failed corporate entity.

  21. I’m sure Brendan will have told that fud ,that our bhoys were not playing in the nonsense bounce game on Sunday

  22. Awe the mad Celtic squad heading through on train fae Dalmuir to Haymarket. Plenty tickets available. Looking like most Tims in Clydebank want a day oot in Embra.
