RETURNING hero Kieran Tierney will face a week’s delay before he makes his second Celtic debut.
The Scotland international left-back officially sealed his comeback on Tuesday after a six-year absence at Arsenal following his record £25million move in the summer of 2019.
Tierney was a no-show in the champions’ 1-0 win over Queen’s Park at the City Ground last night as Brendan Rodgers’ side prepared for the rigours of the new campaign with the Premiership kicking off with the visit of St Mirren to Parkhead on Flag Day on August 3.

THE WAY WE WERE…Brendan Rodgers and Kieran Tierney at the end of a game in 2017.
And the 27-year-old defender won’t figure in the friendly against Cork City in Ireland on Tuesday.
Tierney is expected to join a full squad at Lennoxtown for training today, but Rodgers won’t take risks with early injuries against the Irish club.
The Hoops gaffer, speaking to Celtic TV, admitted: “We’ll have a good session today, a free Sunday, we’ll train and travel on Monday.
“The guys who have just come back won’t be involved in the Tuesday game; a bit too soon.
“But they’ll be involved on Saturday when we play in Portugal. They’ll all be there and ready for the game.”
