KT: NO GO FOR CARLO

KIERAN TIERNEY will NOT be moving to Serie A giants Napoli, insists boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Celtic left-back has been linked with the Italian outfit and Arsenal for most of the summer, but the Hoops have yet to be satisfied with the structure of offers for the defender rated in the £25million bracket at least.

Former Chelsea gaffer Ancelotti, however, has ruled his team out of the race for the 22-year-old Scotland star who is currently fighting a pelvic problem following a double hernia operation at the end of the season.

Gunners Head Coach Unai Emery will welcome the news as he remains confident of adding Tierney to his squad with the Premier League transfer deadline of a week on Thursday drawing closer.

Ancelotti, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “Am I aware of Kieran Tierney? I know him and he is a really good player. He is a really good young left-back, but he is a Celtic player.

“We are looking for a lot of players for this coming season, but he is a Celtic player and we have two good left-backs.”

The London side saw their opening derisory bid of £15million for Tierney thrown out immediately by the Parkhead club last month.

They have since come back with a submission of £25million which is nearer the mark, but that, too, was rejected because of the add-ons that curtailed the upfront to payment to around the £18million mark.
