Kyogo and the Japanese market

179

It continues to amaze when I check the Japan scores that Kyogo does not feature in the starting line-up.  He got the last 30 mins against Oman yesterday, a period of the game that brought Japan the winning goal and not enough to adversely impact his performance at Hampden on Saturday.

What does Japan’s selection tell us?  If our main man cannot command a starting place, Japanese football offers value like nowhere in Europe.  Good job we are scouting there.

AGM kicks off shortly, more on that to follow.

  3. A fiver for your thoughts on

    Hopefully we’re scouting in Japan

Ange stated in his latest chat with fan groups that Japan Korea and interestingly Iran were undervalued markets

Looking forward to what that might bring us in January

  5. Absolutely shameful response from Bankier re potential appointment of Higgins. He needs to go ASAP.

  6. Bankier will be relelected , he is up for re election, the block vote of the heavy hitters are behind him.

  7. Just popped in to add my condolences to the Auld family and to Bertie’s wider circle of friends. Many Thank to you all here at CQN for posting such wonderful tributes and tales. The total legend that was 10.30 has been brought forth in such illuminating colour. I’ve only ever seen him around Paradise but that alone was reward enough for me. Might not be so reluctant to approach him in the other Paradise, based on all I’ve read on here.

    Slán go fóill Bertie Auld.

The Sun newspaper has a history of outrageous headlines and stories ( Liverpool fans being culpable at Hillsborough) but then hide behind non attributable quotes.

Don’t buy, don’t read it and encourage others to do the same.

    Hail Hail

    ==========

Being from Liverpool was evidence enough for the Sun to prove culpability – utter scum.

How anyone can stoop so low as give them their money is beyond me.

  10. Good to here that we actually have a scouting network.

But then again, maybe that’s where lawwell is hiding

  11. Relying on our manager’s knowledge of the Japanese market is not the same as having a fully functioning recruitment function.

We had the same when Ronnie knew the Norwegian one and we got Kris Ajer. Even Rodgers grabbed his go-to man Scott Sinclair.

Build a feckin meaningful football structure Celtic that doesn’t depend on the manager’s little black book !!!

  12. Not sure why people are getting animated about the AGM…

Charlatans doing what charlatans do…and eff the Celtic Support it seems.

I suspect the Celtic Trust’s efforts will only create 30 second fame before the normal rubberstamping.

Unfortunately ‘they’re there and they’re always there’ as Tommy said, is a major weapon in their armoury that only the support in general can change.

” Demotion ” an error on my part, which I corrected immediately

    That is a significant development.

As far as I know it is the first time any Celtic official has unequivocally challenged the dominant narrative.

It’s too little too late but it is a step in the right direction.

100% not an error, a liar as well as a Sevco apologist.

  15. BIG WAVY

This should have been done during the 9IAR years.

Instead we became arrogant and complacent.

It is still continuing. You only have to read yesterday’s leader from Paul67 making fun of the huns . We took a punt on a manager who had never managed in Europe.

He may come good, but we’ve won nothing yet.

Whilst the huns are 4 points clear at the top of the and lost 1 league game in 18months.

Does anyone know what he corrected it to though? Relegated?? :))) por ciertio

  17. Quite a lot from the agm to digest.

As an observation, the ‘support’ could do with being a little more focused and joined up.

    Pick your battles.

Seems to be a scatter gun approach to things. When everything is a priority, nothing is.

For me, it’s the footballing operation. Corporate governance after that.

Other areas, I’m a little less animated about these days

” No ground improving development, in the short term ”

    Ian Bankier

Costs money to do that, money that could got to the overpaid board members.

Someone should have asked Wilson if he believes that the club currently playing out of Ibrox and the other one called Rangers are one and the same…..
