Two corner kicks within 5 minutes midway through the second half put Celtic out of St Johnstone’s reach yesterday. Both corners were taken short, passed to the edge of the box, before the ball was returned behind the defensive line. It looks like a training ground set-piece strategy, which delivered.
A second straight 4-0 win, albeit over weaker opposition like Motherwell and St Johnstone, confirms an end to Celtic’s poor run of form, which saw draws at Zagreb, Hampden and Tannadice. Maybe we just have better sports scientists, but the team look rested and ready for each game.
Kyogo will not score an easier goal than the header he put into an empty net from 1 yard out on 59 minutes. Our key striker has looked short of confidence for some time, but that easy conversion opened the door for a superb strike a few moments later.
Those goals brought Kyogo’s tally of league goals to 8 this season, four of which were scored against St Johnstone. It’s almost as though he is saving them up for a special occasion.
January will be a testing month, with nine games across three competitions, but we look in good shape for it.

Excellent 👏👏👏
The Huns have had 29mins injury time in their last 2 league games
What a year these bhoys have given us. Take a bow.
Some team.
Bada – no wonder they’re knackered 😀

The Champions League is still 3+ weeks away – hopefully he will score a few between now and then!
Three more points. Fifty points and goals and not even at halfway. Not too shabby. Only the four conceded, too.
Bit harsh to say it’s been a poor run of form.
Don’t seem to be hearing much about the race for second between Dundee and Sevco (after all 14 points difference between two clubs is a “race”, in Scotland at least…..).
Made it to Wright Bros. House platter en route.
Excited.
As happy as I am to see Kyogo and Reo’s wide grins this weather, I think Stuart Kettlewell deserves kudos.
Not just for forging a fighting draw against Baldemort’s battalion…
But also for starkly calling out the support the huns are getting from referees; both on the Tony Watt/Butland jostlefest and the ref’s non-booking of sevco midfielders for their patterns of persistent fouling.
His interviews are clear. He’s puzzled by the pochle.
Meanwhile the big darkseeker’s verbal gymnastics are astounding. 14 points behind us and he’s commending that his young players are attracting eyes for an imminent sale in the upcoming window. Quel riddy, as they say in auld Antwerp Toun.

That’s insane but , thankfully, it’s done them no good.
All it might have done is make them a touch more weary than they would otherwise be.

Good point about our fitness and conditioning , very useful against the low block . As Brendan said at the weekend , we are able to run teams ragged and put them to the sword later in the game , especially when our subs come on . There was a time not so long ago when bringing subs on would have brought fresh legs but little else . Now we are replacing quality with quality .

Tontine Tim.Do you know the story of Paddy Cleary and McClennand’s(I think that was the name) new hearse?
*possibly but remind me of it after all I did have a Dumbarton side to my family, an Irish Catholic one at that, plus Mrs. TT has the same contextual as I.

Typical Celtic supporter 8-0 in two games – but the opposition was weak?
The manager that makes changes routine, and still Schmeichel shuts out. The ‘nagging doubts’ played superbly on our way with record breaking Brendan, who dropped Trusty at the first sign, of fragility. Liam Scales strolled through another near MOM performance, albeit rarely pressed, CCV’s ‘Daily Rancour’ transfer rumours reaching fever pitch, the hope is definitely killing them.
BR plays Kyogo because he knows the inevitable, Adam Idah is also due a goal, (see you Thursday). Resting, rotating players only works when you’ve a tier one manager that knows how to do it. Good full games for Alex Valle with Greg Taylor rested, Yang ably backs up player of the year favourite Nicolas Kuhn and a top class midfield trio let Calum on for a bit, to stretch his record number of games.
MOM Paulo Bernardo
Hoopy New Year CSC 🇮🇪
Robertson Reffing and Wesh VAR for Ibrox . I guess they’ll be able to pass their season tickets on then , as thet’ll get in free .
Poor run of form? Mmmm
In the calendar month from November 30 we played eight games.
6 in the SPL 5 wins 1 draw
Away draw in the CL in Zagreb
Won the League Cup Final
If that is poor form give me more more more.
Maybe those nagging doubts still nagging away at you Paul?
Cannot be easy in this season of goodwill….
That’ll ? They’ll
Paul 67 et al,
Indeed, it was good to see Kyogo hitting the net again. Confidence is everything for a striker.
We were very good and its great to see the use of subs wisely and constructively without a hint of weakening the team.
Im so glad we decided to go rather than stay in the warm welcoming pub with auto connect Wi Fi. 😀
Yesterday on here we discussed modernising and improving our facilities and infrastructure. Totally agree with optimising our potential
However over 20 years ago Wi Fi changed the world. It totally changed the way we interact, socialise and maintain relationships . It is now virtually indespensible throughout soceity and especially in the sporting world.
We should not continually see ” Connected without internet” at Celtic Park.. What f@ cking use is that.
Its nearly 2025, common Celtic get it sorted, even the Grinch is laughing at this unbelievable scenario.
HH, the journey continues.

lovely to look at – look at that GD too
GDT,
You do know that Robertson, and Walsh are Tims?.Don’t believe me,go onto FF.They had the bold Don investigated last year, true, and yep, turns out,he is a Tarrier.Walsh,is a Tim.Forget his job.
So there ye go.
Once again, put your hand, arm, anywhere near a keeper at a corner, its 99% a foul. Those living in LA LA Land, making up stories about how much extra time was added on,do you forget we all watched.Last season, when we got a decision in the Cup Final for a nudge, was anyone on saying we robbed them?.No.
Dont be like them,if for no other reason,we don’t need to be.
Turkeybhoy.
The one thing online fan blogs/forums for both Rangers and Celtic fans can actually agree on is that the referees, the SFA and the Scottish sports media are totally against them and that neither set of fans should put up with it any more…
Bada Bing earlier.
Yip – 29 minutes.
And it’s not just the amount of time.
It’s the athletic output during those additional minutes.
In last two games, R2ngers have been chasing games to try to get victories.
Tough to do all the time.
Hot on the heels of a lethargic 1-0 home win over Dundee.
(They were comfortably the better team but tired towards the end, giving the visitors an opportunity for an unlikely point right at the death)
This game just six days after an exhausting cup final, 120 minutes on that soggy pudding and the emotionally draining defeat on penalties.
Clement may have expressed himself badly yesterday but the underlying sports science tenet is valid.
Their small squad is at breaking point and needs to be managed.
Philippe is doing his job.
Taking advice and making the selection calls.
TB – look at the diving by their players in the LC final and on Thursday I bet – it gets rewarded.
Morning everyone.
What a great team display yesterday. The team played at such an up tempo, noticed and praised by their manager. It is alright all these other teams and supporters saying yes but Celtic pay for quality. In this system, that quality has to be on display every game. There is no slacking or your off. These players are buying into the system and working so hard, as well as being worked so hard. Very proud of our coaches and players for their ethic. Thursday will be Thursday at the bigotdome. I too, like some of our other posters, fear for the safety of our players and staff, but the SFA have set it up to fail big time with their open air tent / Wishy market beer garden impression, so he’ll mend them if something does.
Sorry for the long post, not sleeping very well due to my hip op. Pain pills are shite😂😂👍
Sean
I thought Kyogo was terrific yesterday.
Wee man loves the limelight but is an unselfish team player.
Countless times in first half he spun and ran dragging a CB deeper …
… allowing Yang to take balls high and ½ a yard in front of the full back …. but still onside.
Causes chaos and always on his toes.
Compare and contrast with Adam’s chance created by Daizen’s diagonal and Valle’s sliding cross from the byline.
Adam does everything right …
First move at edge of box
Drift to slow down
Near post run to take out first CB
Cut inside to attack the cross
Unfortunately, Adam does everything right too slowly.
Wee man would have got a deft left foot touch to it.
The emergence of Engles as a midfield general yesterday was the highlight of the match for me. Box to box, with some incisive passing. A star in the making.
We end the year with one domestic defeat in the last 12 months and every domestic trophy at Celtic Park. One European defeat away to the CL finalists, 14 points clear ( has there ever been such a lead going into a new year derby ? ) and a rock solid defence which is on course to concede less than 10 (!!) league goals this season.
Well done, Brendan Rodgers. What. A. Manager.
I knew that would happen. They are going to snatch Lennon Miller from right under our noses..Well according to Ibrox News. The £5 million is affordable.
So says Rangers official partner.
😂😂
Madrarua,
Shoorly shum mistake, about Engels.Loads of our fans were thinking he was a waste of money, after 3 or 4 games. The thing is,hard not to believe them. They sussed out Kuhn after the same amount of games last season.
🤔🤔
Turkeybhoy
That will happen only if Motherwell are prepared to accept shares and debenture seats at Ibrox.
That’s a no then
BTB,
I can remember Idah scoring goals, exactly like you describe, one very important one against Motherwell at Fir Park last year, and one recently this season.
On the whole,I agree with you,but I think Kyogo is a phenomenon.
Me Phail Buoy,
Are you doubting the word of ” An Official Partner”?.
An organization with insider information.?
You don’t think its just a Squirrel for the support,do you.
Lord above,is there no truth left in this goddam world?.
If Lennon Miller has other options, he won’t be going to Ibrox.

I had heard that actually , but it would have spoiled my attempt at a joke . Although there are several other officials for whom that would have been more accurate !
Lennon Miller needs to keep playing games to develop his game, he will know what is best for his development and which club will provide this, if he is not just wanting a large increase in salary that is. David Turnbull was signed for good money, showed promise done his hammy in a Cup game and thereafter was in and out of the team unable to command a starting place before moving on, he had attributes I liked but was one paced and he wasn’t a pressing midfielder,so if BR wants Lennon Miller, then he will know how and where to develop him in the squad or at whatever club, who would he replace right now unless someone from the cohort we have in the middle is moving on which I cannot see until the Summer at the earliest.
