Kyogo shaped hole in the squad

340

The script was written for Jota to come off the bench on his return after 18 months and score in a Celtic win.  His last kick of the ball for Celtic before departing was to put us 3-1 ahead of Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup Final.

Adam Idah seems to have flicked a switch, returning to form from last term, while Daizen Maeda sparkled throughout, including when he played through the middle.

None of that moves the dial, however. If Celtic do not sign a striker today they are undeniably taking a risk with the second half of the season. There remains a Kyogo shaped hole in the squad. Over to you, Brendan, Michael.

    Excellent post.

    Agreed , it was.

  2. Is yesterday’s match destined to be remembered as ‘The Crying Game’?

  3. Celtic v Dundee is available on CELTIC TV ( PPV) this Wednesday evening.

I paid the £12.99 fee this morning.

Im just happy at being able to see the match.

    HH.

  4. The manager has said on multiple occasions that the 2 first team players that have recently left have to be replaced. Knowing for months (Kyogo) and weeks (Valle) were leaving, its an indictment of our recruitment system that neither has been replaced up to this point.

Highly unlikely our manager will sign a mooted contract extension at this point if his ambitions are not shared by those in power at the club..

It’s Brendan’s guy who is heading recruitment along with the CEO who seems to be as weak as dishwater so not sure anyone to blame other than himself for not getting his options lined up.

NONSENSE, MAYBE OUR PREFERENCES ARE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO MOVE BY THEIR CLUBS.

    SIMPLES.

  7. I see our domestic rivals have signed the well regarded midfield lad Lyall Cameron. I loved this lads attitude of being happy to go out to unfashionable clubs to get game time and develop. He is maybe doing it again next season lol. Seriously though this is a pretty smart move on rangers part. Generally he is regarded as highly as our Luke and much younger.

This has made my day 😅🤣😂

“Sources close to spurs have told Ibrox Noise that the London side may be interested in making a £30M deadline day bid for Ranger star Hamza Igamane.”

    Signed Jota

    Got KT on a pre-contract

    That’ll do

But oh for the Willo Flood days – bring back PL

I hope Dundee are more forceful than Aberdeen about payment for their players ie Lyall Cameron.

Have the huns paid the sheep for Barron yet 🤔

  11. Pre contract for Cameron so unless they pay money now he wont be joining them until the summer after they sell Hagi of course.

Will THE Rangers have to pay compensation to Dundee just like they did/didn’t to aberdeen for Barron?

If they do, good luck on Dundee getting that any time soon!!!. I know it always seems that we drag our heels during a transfer window, but as people mentioned, teams are reluctant to lose their best players halfway through the season. I loved wee Kyogo playing for us, but if we have Daizen, Nicholas, and Jota supplying someone in the middle then we will score goals. I can’t recall many players , maybe Robbie Keane and Craig Bellamy, only being successful strikers, I could be wrong, coming in during the January Window.

It would be grand if KT was able to come back today, but Arsenal are playing hardball with their 3 other LBS in their squad. I would like to see a Wanyama/Roy Aitken/Roy Keane/ Broony type of center mid come in, but thats a gazillion ppunds worth of a player right there:))) I wonder how many fans now realize how vital Scott Brown was to us now!!! What a job he is doing with Ayr and I hope he brings them up. Future Celtic manager methinks.

Aston Villa sell Colombia striker Jhon Duran ( me neither ) to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for £71M, before he got to play against Celtic.

    You are having a laugh.

Replacing a really solid left back by an injury prone older version in new season plus losing a stellar centre forward who didn’t fit with his playing style and bringing in Jota who hopefully in months to come might get match sharp.

If you are happy then fine. It’s nowhere near a sustainable situation as far as I am concerned.

As for willow flood. Maybe the 20 years of trophy winning against a cheating domestic rival have not been good enough for yourself. Personally I have supported Celtic all my life and never believed we would see such dominance in my life back at the turn of the century. Go figure how this was achieved if it wasn’t being properly managed.

Thanks although I thought Barron had 6 months left on his contract too, I must be wrong.
