Kyogo shaped hole in the squad

340

The script was written for Jota to come off the bench on his return after 18 months and score in a Celtic win.  His last kick of the ball for Celtic before departing was to put us 3-1 ahead of Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup Final.

Adam Idah seems to have flicked a switch, returning to form from last term, while Daizen Maeda sparkled throughout, including when he played through the middle.

None of that moves the dial, however. If Celtic do not sign a striker today they are undeniably taking a risk with the second half of the season. There remains a Kyogo shaped hole in the squad. Over to you, Brendan, Michael.

  1. Scratching about for a couple of loan deals on transfer deadline day.

What is Nicholson doing to earn his vast salary

    Some things never change.

  2. The dubiety exists because of what we have seen before.

Aging players coming up from England and crashing.

    Calton Cole

    Ian Wright

    Freddie Ljungburg.

To name but three. We all remember more.

  3. Still hoping, forlornly or not, Brendan’s Uber is heading to Highbury after Selhurst Park. Quite a drive mind you at this time of night, SE25 to N5. An hour and 15 mins with a good tail wind.

Jane Lewis’ “Rangers have got one in” news then goes on to say that it is a pre contract that they won’t actually get in until August.

Followed up by “we’ll see what Brendan Rodgers is saying about Celtic” which turns out to be a clip from yesterday’s post match interview followed by inane ramblings about how we’ve lost a left back and a striker.

As usual, Rangers getting positive spin , Celtic negative.

Why didn’t they say we’ve got Kieran Tierney in when his situation is exactly the same as the hun signing?

  5. I reckon we could get Andreas Thom pretty cheaply, maybe Henrik could come back, just a thought.

Come on Celtic, you can and MUST do better

  6. It’s surely got to be loans at this stage? Genuinely intrigued how a full, due diligence, medical could be done at this stage. Do these take a bit of time?

  7. Jeffrey Schlupp definitely coming, deal agreed. Looks a unit so adds some welcome muscle to our squad.

  8. The season ticket holders and all seated as ell too, was / is a recipe for a lazy supporter base who have zero effect on the club governance from a meritocracy view point.

Plastic tyrant leaders will threaten you indirectly with the waiting list, carrot and stick approach.

Buy your nearly £1,000+ per year seat, or you’ll be replaced, coz you re just a customer.

    Suck it up or leave.

And when 58,000 can’t replace 2,500 singing section fans like the immoral PLC tried to do when the PLC banned the singing section and Rodgers hugely expensive team dropped 7 points in a matter of weeks [ In the One horse SPL ] without the backing of the 12th man singing section, the real heroes are the 2,500 without seats…which make you lazy.

When the 2,500 real Heroes were banned and instantly missed, neither of the puppet manager, or woke rainbow flag / armband enthusiast Captain even showed any Solidarity with the banned heroes, and their supposedly fellow 58,000 season ticket comrades were climbing over each other to stab their steely knives into the 2,500 misfit trolls.

Check the manager and captains efforts to keep a straight face on as they approach the area were the irreplaceable 2,500 Heroes are in the stadium, both BR and CM continually glance up at the big screens to make sure they have the right faces on. Eye! They dae!

Not a single word of comradeship for the 2,500 real Heroes.

Not a single word about Lawwell the rich idiot who has cancelled “YNWA” optics selling point which created he Tifo era at every club in the World who tried imitate the Celtic fans untouchable anywhere version of “YNWA”ruined by a spoiled rich kids new toy with his stupid arsed disko light show.

Tiger Tim Stevens was sacked for a parking ticket compared to the Lawwell desecration of “YNWA” and the tolerance of this spells out just how these rich aloof PLC buffons are incapable of reading a room.

How can you read a room when some dick switches the lights off? And he gets away with it?!?

How can you count and grass in all the empty seats if the lights are switched off?

Do you think MON, or NFL would allow the lights to switched off during “YNWA”?

Disko lights or John McGinn? That was the deal.

Only a Lawwell arse licker, or a Turkey from Turkey, or a boring as fk Anorak wearing empty seat counting grassing tout, or a Tearyman who threatens to chap your door then when asked to come ahead his arse falls off, etc, etc, yadda yadda, etc, only creeps like these would say otherwise.

How much did the loss of a future John McGinn sale to the EPL cost the balance sheet?

And what type of Celtic fan would disagree with this post and then claim that they are a real Celtic supporter coz they pay £1,000+ per season ticket to kiss the Old Firm franchise’s arse and then deny all knowledge of that?

Hopefully he’s a roaring success and we can all sing the Schlupp Schlupp song in his honour.

    I’ll get my coat.

  10. No way Peter Lawwell is involved in transfer dealings. Maybe Nicolson and Brendan. Peter Lawwell could be going to Faro as he has property in Algarve.

We have a home game on Wednesday

  11. BREAKING! Jeffrey Schlupp to Celtic transfer DONE – now striker search escalates as Brendan Rodgers tries to tool up |

    True ?

  12. I wonder how Rodgers will be feeling if we only manage to sign Schluup. Based on yesterdays interview, he clearly wanted more. Kyogo replacement should have been a plan , rather than a last minute scramble. We’ve made so much money from player sales and should be spending /investing to put us out of sight

  13. A wee point to those saying you can’t sign quality in January

    Hatate

    Kuhn

    Johnston A

    Maeda

    O Riley

    All in last 4 years.

    All quality restricted talent.

  14. BigBhoy – an hour or so ago on X, someone commented:

“Why would the guy who came back to Celtic as Non Executive Chairman (quickly amended to Chairman within months) be attending all transfer meetings with the Boss. ”

Guess who replied to say “He wouldn’t and he’s not. No idea when this photo was taken but it’s not recent. ”

P67 must be round having tea.😄

So that’s it a 32 year old loan deal ,

I’m ok with that one, good experienced guy,he might get another contract depending on how he does, until KT gets home

  16. Stebhoy

I totally agree Rodger’s should be frustrated.

We could buy all that great talent in the 3 previous January windows and suddenly he draws blanks.

  17. Deniabhoy

A good question to ask the CEO ? Or majority shareholder ?

Maybe the CEO is elsewhere doing another deal though to be fair. Maybe his focus is exiting and the tasks are divided.
