KYOGO FURUHASHI’S Rennes misery continued with a cameo role in his side’s 4-1 home thrashing from Paris Saint-Germain last night.
The former Celtic fans’ favourite, who sealed a £10million switch to the French outfit in late January, made an appearance in the 81st minute for his first outing in three games.
Kyogo took over from 17-year-old debutant Mohamed Meite with the visitors leading 2-1.
The 30-year-old Japanese striker arrived in time to see Ousmane Dembele fire in two goals to fire the champions to victory to stretch their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 16 points on their way to a fourth successive title.
Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos had PSG 2-0 ahead before the Lilian Brassier headed in the hosts’ consolation effort before the roof caved in late in the contest.
Rennes sit in 11th place in the 18-team table and face an away fixture against Lens on Saturday night.
As his woes pile up in France, Kyogo must wonder if he will get the opportunity to make a rare start for his new club.
