KYOGO FURUHASHI could be on his way back to the UK – just 128 DAYS after his £10million switch from Celtic to Rennes.
The 30-year-old Japanese striker failed to score a solitary goal in his rare first-team appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
And reports now suggest the French club are having “positive” talks with Brentford over a quickfire deal for the international frontman, according to media outlet Le Parisien.
So far Kyogo, who cost the Hoops £4.5million when he arrived from J-League outfit Vissel Kobe in late July 2021, has cost Rennes a staggering £78,125-per-day – and that does not include his wages.

ROARING SUCCESS…happier times for Kyogo Furuhashi who celebrates a goal in Celtic’s 4-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle in November 2024.
Bournemouth are also monitoring the pacy hitman’s situation, as CQN reported last month.
Kyogo, who netted 85 goals at Celtic, signed a two-and-a-half year contract when he arrived near the end of January, but all indications are that the terms will be cut short with the French club looking to recoup some of their initial financial outlay.
The former fans’ favourite, who won nine honours – including four titles – in his three and a half years at Parkhead, was brought to the Brittany club by Jorge Sampaoli.
However, the Argentinian coach was sacked just days later and replaced with one-time Newcastle United defender Habib Beye.
Kyogo has made a mere six first-team appearances, but it looks as though he could now be thrown a career lifeline with the Premier League pair prepared to pounce.
