LAMBERT ON FOX HUNT AS WATT STARTS WELL

FORMER Celtic defender Danny Fox is poised to join Paul Lambert at Blackburn Rovers.

The ex-Hoops skipper is on the look-out for a new left-back after selling Marcus Olsson to Derby County.

Lambert, who has brought in Tony Watt on loan from Charlton to replace £13million Jordan Rhodes who has moved to Middlesbrough, is eager to get the Fox deal done before tonight’s transfer deadline. Watt made a sensational debut yesterday scoring twice.

The Englishman cost Tony Mowbray £1.5million when he arrived from Coventry City in July 2009. He lasted only six months at Parkhead before he was sold for a similar fee to Burnley.

The twenty-nine-year-old back-four operator, who also had a spell at Southampton, is heading for the exit at Nottingham Forest.

He has fallen out of favour with boss Dougie Freedman and Rovers gaffer Lambert will now move to snap him up.

Fox still has more than a year of his current contract to run, but Forest will not be difficult to deal with.
