Last act of Ogilvie should be to call inquiry

The hours immediately after the First Tier Tribunal reports on Rangers use of Employee Benefits Trusts, which the BBC discovered is due this month, to loan money (!) to staff what happens at Hampden will be most interesting.  SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, as a director, was legally responsible for Rangers when they started using EBTs and benefited from one himself but he has refused to resign and the SFA have declined to put him on gardening leave, pending a public investigation.

Instead, SFA chief executive, Stewart Regan, told press the Association had investigated Ogilvie’s contribution to the matter and found he had no case to answer, despite widespread scepticism that any investigation whatsoever was held into the president’s involvement in the issue.

If, despite protests from former Rangers directors that the club acted properly at all times, the FTT upholds the position of HMRC, that Rangers incorrectly failed to pay £94m tax, Ogilvie will surely walk (away), as the SFA will have to instigate disciplinary proceedings on the club which inherited Rangers membership, for deeds done while the president was in an executive position at Ibrox.

Even our new friend Charles Green would find it unpalatable that a man responsible for the subsequent penalty remains in charge of the body imposing the penalty.  We’ve said “Ogilvie will surely walk” before, of course, only to witness ever-higher standards of brass neck, but if he pauses for an hour before resigning, let it be to give those of us on the outside of the game what is needed, a full and independent inquiry into the game, how it is administered and controlled. Before the year is out we are likely to learn that our game was violated for more than a decade by people at the very top. A charlatan was expelled from the game earlier this year while the owner of a new club, without financial track record, is trying to raise millions from fans.

In any other European country, even Italy, the inquiry would already be under way.

IMO ,CG is a complete billshutter he is telling the sevco fans what they are desperate to hear ……..MOONBEAMS AND PIPE DREAMS

I bet he can’t believe how easy it is to rope a dope over Ibrokes way .no wonder he is planning on calling his fantasy the Ibrokes village ,considering the amount of idiots that frequent the area every 2nd week .

500 million followers worldwide does he think it’s Allah that’s the manager instead of Ally.

100 million made from fans watching on their mobiles ,how have Man Utd and Barca let Chico slip through the net and allowed him to be headhunted by a Scottish 3rd division team .

Let the tribute acts fans dig deep and donate their giro’s if they believe the guff coming out of their new club ,they have been warned time and time again to just look into things rather than just accepting any old dung that they are told ,if they don’t want to listen then fair enough .

We will see them when the corrupt leagues are set up and they will have to live within their means ,as we will be watching .We will just have to live with the sharp rise in the honest mistakes .

    hail hail

How come Paul67 is calling for newco to incur penalties for the deeds of oldco? If the SFA share had passed to Buckie Thistle we wouldn’t ask for them to carry oldco penalties.

has anyone asked you to include

What have the Scottish Govt promised UEFA for their continued non intervantion

I remember there were a lot of meetings around the time of administration, Alex S made public statements for leniency to the HMRC.

The SFA and SPL were meeting with UEFA, there were rumours spread by my good self:o) that Alex S was involed in these meetings via conference call.

The Scottish Govt later refused to release information requested under the FOI, about the Scottish Govt interverntion with the HMRC.

paranoia seems to be like a compass in Scotland :o)

UEFA and the SNP are on opposite sides as long as nobody within UEFA was an EBT beneficiary ?

UEFA want thid buried as much as the SNP do. Mainly due to bad publicity.

As long as the contagion can be limited to UK shores.

UEFA does not want to deal with it. They want it to go away. ECA have also told Sevco to show them the money.

Nobody will get any money without gaurantees being in place especially from Green.

Sevco will not be paying any money and then leave themselves open to obliteration.

So nothing will be done until Sevco get the money.

There’s something going on ……. every stage of the ‘process’, since 14 Feb, has entered into serious delay, and it’s very difficult to avoid wondering if there is a reason for this …… I don’t recall, for example, ANY administration / liquidation process taking so long…….just seems as though the timeline is being orchestrated to an ‘end game’….

I have forced myself to believe that the wheels of justice etc are running slow due to the fact that evidence is being compiled for court cases against many individuals……..but it’s getting silly now ……..just hope there hasn’t been any political interference …… But time will tell, just don’t know how much time ….LOL

Never mind, we are a patient bunch, us Celtic Fans…….and the bhuns are, after all, deed…..!!!!!

It is not unusual for the administration liquidation process to take so long. Indeed the liquidation process could drag on for some time yet before they are formally wound up, not uncommon.

As for the FTT taking so long, nothing to do with political interference, they are totally independent, all good things come to those that wait.

    Keep the Faith!
