Last chance to present Newco to players before they drift

245

Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, were as recently as yesterday briefing media that they hoped to conclude the sale of Rangers before the end of the season – which is their game against St Johnstone on Sunday.

Late Friday morning this seems unlikely but it is an important deadline.  If Rangers morph into a Newco and are given permission by the SFA and SPL to take the field against St Johnstone on Sunday, any player who participates will have transferred his employment to Newco.  Newco would then be able to retain his services for the length of his Rangers contract or would be able to sell him to fund a trading shortfall.

If a Newco is formed after Sunday, players have two months to decide if they want to join the company or remain Rangers employees until redundancy or until Rangers fail to pay wages.

  1. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

IMO,any team which does NOT represent the current holders of the licence should not be allowed to take to the field on Sunday unless the transfer of that licence is ratified by a meeting of all the clubs.

They won’t have time for that.

So if a NEWCOFC play on Sunday, that means Rangers are relegated with ZERO points,as they will have their record expunged for failing to fulfil their fixtures.

    Which will do for me!

For the benefit of Mr MCoist, it should be noted that it is 1 starter 1 main course and 1 dessert each

Mr McCoist has accepted (reluctantly) the above ruling, however he has asked if jelly AND ice cream counts as one dessert or two.

  4. Paul67,

Who do they need to inform over a Newco? SFA?

And therefore, when is the deadline? SFA office hours, 5pm tonight?

    Interesting stuff Paul67

    Very interesting indeed

  6. The double contract scandal will sink Rangers in any form. There can be no punishment other than expulsion from the SFA and consequent oblivion.

  7. Che – there will be white smoke today, this will only start Due Dilligence though. That went well for them last time if I remember correctly.

  8. I see the SFA have now tweaked the rules to allow Rangers to select who is on the Appeals Panel (they can now protest to someone who is chosen if the are not of the correct persuasion) and have them named.

The SFA cannot even enforce the rules that all clubs have agreed on last year for anonymity for the appeals panel. Smacks to me of cowardice and incompetency.

Remember, too, the still flourishing cottage industries which revolve around ‘servicing’ of these colourful pageants, viz. the slip-on and white sock industries, not to mention bowler hat makers, white glove makers and owners of countless corner shops who traditionally dispense copious quantities of beverages to slake the thirst of the marchers and their assorted hangers on.
