Latest Transfer News and Rumours

RECENT reports indicate that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is looking to sign two or three new players during this summer’s transfer window.

The Premiership champions are currently embarking on their pre-season tour and are in Austria as of the time of writing. By the end of summer, their ranks could be greatly bolstered if the new signings go ahead. They’ve already taken on four new players and want a few more to cement their chances of success in future tournaments. Several names have been bandied about as potential sign-ups; let’s have a look at a couple of them.

Jordan Larsson

The Swedish striker – son of famed striker Henrik Larsson – recently left Spartak Moscow. During the 2020/2021 Premier League season, while on the Russian team, he notched up an impressive 15 goals across 31 games. He may not be as prolific as his father just yet, but his record thus far is certainly not one to be overlooked.

The promising 25-year-old quit playing for Russia when the country invaded Ukraine. Now there are multiple clubs hoping to sign him up, including some based in Germany and Italy. If predictions are anything to go by, Celtic will most likely be where Larsson will end up for the time being at least.

George Baldock

Another player rumored to be getting signed by the Hoops soon is George Baldock. If he is to become one of the club’s latest additions, he will no doubt prove himself to be worth every penny very soon indeed. The 29-year-old has earned himself a solid reputation thanks to his performance so far. He currently plays as right-back for Sheffield United and has represented Greece at international tournaments. He’s able to play for the Greek national team thanks to having a half-Greek grandmother.

Other Potential Targets

A few other names have come up in recent weeks. Mohammed Abu Fani, an Israeli midfielder, has been mentioned as a possible addition to the club, as has Fausto Vera, a very young player (just 22 years of age). Vera is an Argentinian player who’s currently listed as a midfielder for the country’s professional team Argentinos Juniors. There’s also Ladislav Almasi, a Slovakian striker who plays for FC Banik Ostrava.

What Does the Future Hold?

Anyone who follows a major football club will be used to transfer rumors. Whenever these rumors come about, there’s a lot of excitement about what new players could end up joining a club. With Celtic, some impressive names are being thrown about. Whatever happens, it’s certain that Celtic is going to have a very strong roster going forward, and that the club’s future will be very bright indeed.
