BOSUN LAWAL, Celtic’s highly-promising centre-back, is heading for England on loan to get crucial game-time, as CQN reported last month.
The 20-year-old defender is one of three Hoops starlets leaving Parkhead on temporary deals as Brendan Rodgers continues to trim his squad.
Nineteen-year-old double-act midfielder Ben Summers and right-back Ben McPherson have gone to Dunfermline and Queen’s Park respectively on year-long contracts, as CQN also forecast.
Lawal, who moved to Glasgow from Watford in the summer of 2021, is poised to join Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town where he will team up with Parkhead colleague Adam Montgomery who moved to the League One outfit earlier this summer after spending last term at St Johnstone.
It looks as though the champions’ legendary skipper has beaten Norwich City, Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers in the pursuit of Lawal who has been capped four times by the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
In the meantime, Summers, another highly-rated among the youth ranks at Parkhead, penned an extension to keep him at the treble winners until 2026 – and then agreed a season-long switch to the Fifers.
McPherson, who can play full-back or centre-half, will join him in the Championship with the Hampden side after his switch was rubberstamped.
A Scotland youth international, the utility performer has been capped at under-16, 19 and 21 levels.
