    I was in Milton Keynes by 1990 – would have got them from mates i went to the game/pub/dancin with when back up the road mostly. Tho by 1990, i think i was mainly into the Pete C’s :)

    Probably going against a few grains here but for the first 80 minutes I was proud of our team tonight.

     

     

    Being 5 hours behind CP time midweek games can be tough to watch in their entirety but I got lucky with meetings today and, as mentioned before, have a fine Fulham supporting gent as a boss.

     

     

    Hate to say it but BR is right. He needs a few windows.

     

     

    We will win the league this year and that is all I care about right now.

    funnily enough, my maw (and no offence taken btw, tho you should have just said ‘yer maw”) thinks the same as Pete C

     

    me – i’m wondering who her researcher was.

     

    her wiki is pretty decent – she started with real madrid tv in 2008

     

    but i’d bet that she wouldnt have got that gig – remember it was 2008 at a club who said ronaldinho was too ugly to play for them – if she was a midden

     

    that said, shes been in football ever since and i would rather listen to her talking about football than half the ex-huns on tv/radio and fuds like jim whyte (any relation ? :) ) tanner and the stv/bbc muppets.

    Glad I missed all that nonsense.

     

     

    I read a few comments just after the game last night along the lines that we are close to being a good side and only need a few first team signings to get us there. I’m not convinced but even if I was what evidence is there to suggest that our board will back the manager? We never have a strategic plan for the football team, it’s always just an afterthought when the accounts are published, long live the balance sheet!!

    I feel a bit sorry for our Celtic Bhoys last night.

     

    Plenty of effort put in, but we do lack a bit of quality and composure, especially from midfield to front. KYOGO is being STARVED of service in some recent games.

     

     

    Maybe we are missing REO HATATE more than we thought we would ? On his game, REO can be a game changer ?

     

    LAZIO were no great shakes, but sadly they didn’t have to be.

     

     

    As others have pointed out, Lady Luck ( is THAT SEXIST ?) …….appears to desert us in European games.

    After the Celtic game, I stayed tuned to TNT to watch the PSG v Newcastle match.

     

    I switched OFF after 30 minutes or so, as MCCOIST in Co Commentary is truly AWFUL.

     

    Not only does he AGREE with EVERYTHING that the main Commentator says, but he constantly REPEATS himself at every opportunity.

     

    He was using words like ” EXCEEDINGLY” when describing a Pass etc. Plus he constantly says…” SPOT ON…CORRECT….ABSHOOTLUTELY and I will TELL you this ” at every opportunity.

     

     

    Whoever thought of MCCOIST as a Fitba commentator SHOULD be SACKED.

     

     

    I have often wondered if this Hun CHUMP McCoist actually spoke like that when he was a Player/Manager ?

     

    Im sure that many Folk turn OFF there TVs when McCoist is on ?

    Our European record in recent times is absolutely woeful. The statistics are shocking. We are setting new ” lows”

     

     

    If a commentator wants to point that out, so what ? It is an undeniable fact.

     

     

    Campaign after Campaign, year after year we can moan about bad luck,poor refeering and whatever, but I think we need to reflect on what we are doing so wrong.

     

     

    Yes we need more quality, but that is not so easy to achieve never mind guarantee. We signed circa 10 players in the summer, how many can we honestly say is quality?

     

     

    However there can be no excuse for continual lack of concentration. We seem to have a mental block in Europe. We need to address this if we are to make any progress.

     

     

    Sooooo, soooooo disappointing last night, but soooooo, sooooooo predictable.

    Remember to send me your ‘cold light of dsy’ nominations. I had a rare but very uncomfortable read back of the last 4 or 5 pages. The tone, plus the effort to navigate sign ins and ads lead me to conclude that I may soon just do the ole MOTM/POTY stuff solely through the Sentinel Celts site. I realise voting numbers might drop but it’s only a wee unofficial pastime anyway.

    For me, Immobile anticipates the ball breaking and runs off a ball watching CCV. Once the ball breaks, CCV has no chance. Is that bad luck on the deflection or good play from the striker ?

     

     

     

    There’s nothing unlucky about being on a point after 5 games. That’s where we are.

     

     

    I’ve very little sympathy for BR saying he needs more quality. Did he not know in the summer that there were players that we needed an upgrade on ? He should have held the board’s feet to the fire. Just like Ange did in his first transfer window when he told everyone that the deals were taking too long to get over the line.

     

     

    The match against Feyenoord could and should have been a europa play off had we addressed some clear weaknesses on last years team.

    I’ll cut the TNT presenter some slack – she was given a narrative to peddle and was just doing her job.

     

     

    TNT/Discovery + are an iteration of BT Sports who are no different from Sky or the SMSM. In fact I find Rory Hamilton more condescending, snidey and negative towards Celtic than Crocker.

     

     

    I do not subscribe to Sky and have been streaming our CL games on Discovery + at £30 per month. I cancelled this morning and will watch the Feyenoord match in the pub.

     

     

    Don’t dislike the player, dislike the game and vote with your wallet (or your purse 😉).

    Got back in too late to, thankfully, join in with the post-match discussion, so I’ll say only one thing,

     

    now that’s entertainment!

     

    Lazio could and should have beaten Athletico in their first game, they beat Feyonoord at home, and poor league form or no, they were always favourites to win last night. That said I am disappointed we didn’t get a better result. We had two, three maybe chances, at 0-0 in the second half, Kyogo has got to go low near post or hammer across the six yard box where we had one or two players on hand and the chance of an own goal. Not to say we would have won or drew from scoring first, we did so twice in our home games, but we will definitely not get a result after losing a late goal that is for sure. We did play well for much of the match, but buckled under late pressure, which we also did against Lazio at Celtic Park. Obvious we are lacking at this level, but we are not lackeys, we have the potential and the resources to improve the team and as a team before the new CL format next September. Winning the League, and making that a priority should be our main objective from here on in.

    we are pathetic at CL level in Europe, repeating the same mistakes and finding new ways of losing games every time we step on to the pitch.

     

     

    that said, not sure i’d be happy with brendan’s comments about quality if i was a player.
