LEEDS BOSS SILENT ON ROGIC

STEVE EVANS has refused to comment on speculation linking Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic with Leeds United.
The Elland Road boss is an admirer of the Hoops’ Aussie star, but would only admit the Championship side are working on several potential deals in both Scotland and England.

Evans has brought in Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Caryol on loan until the end of the season, but reports insist he wants Rogic on a permanent basis.SzCVvQ0urTlD4iBjuPgDwZZQTIJA2PXLrav-PnsO_Wk
The international playmaker, who celebrated his 23rd birthday last month, has become a mainstay in Ronny Deila’s first team squad during this campaign, and the Hoops gaffer is urging him to agree an extension to his contract which expires in July next year.
Rogic, now completely free of the recurring groin injury which wiped out last season, has scored six goals in 24 appearances this term and has been one of the team’s most improved performers..
That has attracted the attention of several clubs, but Glaswegian Evans, the former Clyde, Hamilton and St Johnstone player, didn’t want to talk about the midfield man who cost Neil Lennon a bargain £350,000 when he joined from Central Coast Mariners in January 2013.
The Yorkshire club’s manager said: “It would be inappropriate for me to start speculating and talking about players that we are getting linked with now and again on a daily basis.
“But we are trying to do some business on both sides of the border and wherever that interest takes us we will try and get something done.”
Tom Rogic recently stated that he wanted to remain at Celtic and would be delighted to sign a new contract extension to commit his long term future to the 4 in a Row Champions.
