LEEDS IN FOR ASTANA STRIKER

CELTIC could be handed a Champions League favour from Leeds United ahead of their play-off with Astana.

It has emerged that the Yorkshire club are chasing DR Congo striker Junior Kabananga to bolster their strike force with a view to their EFL Championship campaign.

The 28-year-old is a mainstay in the Astana XI and would be ‘one-to-watch’ for Celtic ahead of their UEFA Champions League play-off next week at Celtic Park.

Kabananga scored 16 goals in 21 games for Astana this season and his form has caught the attention of Leeds, along with Nottingham Forest and Hull.

Leeds are keen on bringing the player in as soon as they can; however, Astana look unlikely to be willing to deal before their play-off matches.
