I feel a bit uncomfortable about some of the hostility expressed towards fellow supporters who offer critical comments about individual players or aspects of team selection or performance. Disagree by all means, but I reckon all views expressed deserve respect, even if diametrically opposed to our own. It is surely not disloyal to express dissatisfaction about such issues. It reflects, in my view, a wish to see our teams get better and better, an objective we should all share. Some of it, I know, is tongue in cheek, but even so….
Can’t think of the Canaries without remembering the first time I saw Chris Sutton live. What a presence on the pitch. What a centre-forward. Delighted when he joined the Hoops. He, as a pundit, has at times received heavy flak from sections of the Celtic “faithful, but, leaving aside his tendency to be pugnacious to the point of arrogance , he has more often said what needed to be said than otherwise, in my view. Right, where did I leave that helmet and suit of armour….?
