While these pages were full of “I hope we never play them” comments in the years immediately after 2012, Neil Lennon wanted his Celtic team to face Newco. Neil foresaw what a well-organised Celtic machine would do before results like 5-1, 5-0, 4-0, 1-5 poured down on top of the Ibrox side. He has waited over six years, but on Sunday, Celtic’s interim boss gets his chance.
A significant part of the reason Neil was so loved at Hibernian was because of his record in Edinburgh derbies, as well as against Celtic and Newco. Hibs over-achieved in these games because Neil is a master of this kind of sporting conflict. When there is a real edge to the occasion, there is no one better than Neil Lennon.
He will be counting down the hours until noon on Sunday. The players will be more focussed and prepared than they have ever been, not one of them will be in any doubt of the outcome as they leave the tunnel. They will be determined, full of the confidence of being at home, but most importantly, will know the boundaries they need to respect to deliver a great performance.
For all that he has gone through, Neil deserves this chance. I can’t wait to see him take it.

random musings from today.
daughter wanted to go a drive today, so over the bridge we go. on the way i spy away doon the river some warboat getting towed up. i decide, cut in somewhere and watch it go past.
tried at dumbarton, could not see it, drove on some more, tried to find what i thought was called the blind school , obviously wrong, turned up just beyond the junction at our ladies .
BRUCEHILL
there is a guy with tartan on , at the railings , going bonkers, laughing but not looking well. we drive on, daughter wants to turn round and go home.
i told her, i have never been here before, lets drive round and follow the road back,
some mental drivers coming out, some mental pram drivers pushing around,
then the top of the hill.
what a view, what a look back across the clyde, what a view of that ship coming up the clyde,
the gibby and the upper port views looking up at ben lomond cant beat this reverse view, its amazing.
that wee park, and the fitba pitch, and now i remember i played here, sometime about 11 years old.
and you look to the left and there are half a million pound houses across that wee glen.
musings over.
Thought there was a very tasteful and considered ending to Still Game tonight.
Jack and Victor will live on in the pages of CQN however.

watched it all, still trying to decide.

Trivia
Celtic’s highest ever victory over Hearts until December 2013 when Celtic won 7-0 at Tynecastle.
Celtic fans chant ‘April fools…April fools…April fools’ at the hapless Hearts players.
Review
Hearts are relegation bound and totally capitulated at Parkhead. Celtic are now homing in on the title with a brand of exhilerating, attacking football.
George McCluskey, in for the injured Nicholas, is Celtic’s best player. Ex Ranger Alex MacDonald is roundly barracked by the Parkhead crowd but even at the age of 33 MacDonald is easily Hearts’ best player.
Teams
Celtic – Bonner, McGrain, Reid, Sullivan, McAdam, Aitken, Provan, MacLeod, McGarvey, Burns, McCluskey Subs – Conroy, Nicholas
Hearts – Brough, Denny, Shields, Kidd, More, Hamill, McKay, Gibson, Liddell, Bowman, MacDonald Subs – O’Brien, Robertson
Scorers – McCluskey 23 pen, 48, MacLeod 62, 75, McGarvey 29, Provan 24
Referee – R.B. Valentine (Dundee)

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Dublin. Off to Galway for a conference. Looking forward to Glasgow on Sunday where breakfast in Coia’s will (hopefully) precede the mother of all hunskelpings.
Good morning, friends and a BIg Happy FRiday from a dry, cloudy and calm East Kilbride. To win the leage before the split we need to move 16 points clear. Increasing the gap on Sunday to 13 is well within our capabilities, after which we face St Mirren and Livingston whilst Sevco have Hearts and a trip to Motherwell.

Almorw ,
Just thinking of you and intentions of goung to Fagans to watch game last time we were there when we had a big victory over them. I see you are going to game. Kids have arranged dinner for mothers day in our own town after watching Celtic game. So that plan has changed.
We are heading for Croke Park tomorrow for Donegal v Meath game. I think some may have Meath jerseys below their Donegal jerseys.
Interesting re. Tealings, we used to be directly across the street to them. They have an amazing marketing team with their product on display in Europe. I even seen it in the Celtic SC pub in Budapesr, when that other team went through on penalties. It is a nice smooth whiskey, not that I would be an expert.
John Teeling, their father would visit Teelings regularly. It was said of him that anything he touches turns to gold. I spoke to him on a few occasions and asked him about him drilling for gold in Inishowen. He said it was a viable business.

Cheers bhoys, fantastic breakfast too, including Stornoway black pudding and Macsween haggis (if you are into the latter, which I am not). Nicely set up for the day. HH

Alec Ahauf……….. for the off?
Aye, but paid-up an’ pensioned……with a warm seat at Shortie waitin’
Ecksit will be a useful squirrel if the theres a “spectacular” in the huns game. His Bowlin’ Klub pal should follow him as weel.
Fix Fitba’ £mpty Hampden.
Cathach: I got out of Mother’s Day obligations by claiming that I thought it was the previous Sunday (as it usually would be) when I booked my flights. The missus bought that excuse but when I told her she wasn’t my mother anyway, her mood changed dramatically?
Fond memories of that game in Fagans – I don’t think I’ve been to a pub once in Dublin this season to watch a match.
Think I’ll support Donegal on Sunday in an ABM sort of way:-)
Good to hear from you and maybe see you in Dublin for the Cup final if we get there.
Took about twenty attempts to post the above because of page loading issues and five minutes to post this one.

I was one of the 13300. ?
________
So was I but I couldn’t believe the 13300 when I read the post. However, from the footage, it does look pretty sparse.
If Big Lavatory gets the nod for Sunday…he’ll re-enact his usual sleekit display with Boaby’s connivance.
I’d expect blood ‘n’ snotters anyway……first goal’s the winner stuff but Boaby will see a victory for thems is probably the only way thull get to celebrate something this season.
Aye.

Wee Fiona’s a tinker if she didn’t.
Love the opening line in the ‘Green light for KT’ article in the mag:
“Neil Lennon has been given a double boost before Sunday’s high noon showdown with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side at Parkhead”
‘Cos “Yooor no Rangers ennymoooooore”.
And never let them forget it.

Wee Emily Maitless used it on Newsnight too, but was overshadowed by the political correspondent reporting that, when asked why May was holding a vote on her deal again that was doomed to failure, a Cabinet Minister replied: “Fuck knows! It’s like the night of the Living Dead in there”.
Even Paxo never resorted to swerries, did he? The Brexit effect.
Moussa Dembele is the only Celtic player to have scored a hat trick versus Sevco.
SO was I
was going to post only about 11,500 at game when i saw that figure
Sure there was a bit of bother up Rangers end with diet hvns

Here’s a great start to the weekend….
Quite a challenge having a must-win game at a place you’ve never won in a guaranteed green and white-hot atmosphere.
Will Boaby use a totting-up system for ‘silliness’ like the one he uses for persistent fouling against players in green and white?
“CRAIG LEVEIN was left raging with referee Bobby Madden after claiming he told a Hearts player Alfredo Morelos is “just a bit silly sometimes” when he asked why the Rangers striker hadn’t been booked.” (The Sun, Dec 2018).
