The Scottish Premiership is receiving a lot of love internationally this week for its knife-edge title race and dramatic match conclusions. It deserves more credit for the fact that any team in the league can genuinely be hopeful of taking points from any other. Celtic are now bookies favourites to take the title, but less than a week ago bottom of the table Livingston came within a whisker of taking a point at Celtic Park.
That favourite status is influenced by recent results. Irrespective of the manner of the wins, Celtic have taken all nine points available to them this month. Hearts collected three from nine, while Newco took eight from 12. Celtic’s title push is on track, but there will be changes in sentiment, and perhaps title favourites, more than once before the season ends.
You and I can get hung up on our own fragilities. While acknowledging them, I would not swap squads or managers with either title rivals. Celtic get the job done because we have players and a manager who have been over the ground many times. Lennoxtown is full of experienced winners. That’s a quality you would never bet against.

Sans Martin & Co we would be below Motherwell in the SPL, then again sans the masonic cabal, the team over @ the stadium John Brown played for, would be below us. And while it’s true we have a cohort of footballers experienced in winning both the SPL and knockout trophies, our continued presence in three competitions is, at least in part due to players brought in since the start of the year, Tomas, Junior, Julian and Alex. Hoping Joel and Ben can also make a positive impact. Not sure what our best starting line-up and formation is from all the players we now have, but if we can become more effective at CB and centre mid under pressure, the potential to score will see us continue to win games, hopefuly with time in hand.

@Greenpinta, the not a penny more campaign will have zero effect on the cost for the average supporter; the costs have risen way beyond inflation since well before the campaign was even a thought. If you’re happy with the club hoarding your money, keep doing whatever your doing but, if you want a modern, forward thinking one, you should maybe consider how that will be achieved by continuing to support the current set up

I won’t post the link but the papers today at least debunked the current narrative that is being spouted about Celtic getting added time until we score.
Looking at the average total time added, the teams whose games have seen most minutes:
1. Livingston with 8.08 minutes
2. R2ngers with 8.02 minutes
6. Hearts 7.30 minutes
11. Celtic with 7.03 minutes.
The average of just second half total minutes played:
1. R2ngers with 50.25
6. Hearts 50.02
11. Celtic 49.43
The only stat where we are top is for scoring goals after 90th minute.
We have scored 8.
R2ngers have scored 7.
Hearts 3.

Did you read of Alex Rae getting a £12k settlement of the club he used to work for??
Big increase in investment in a funeral directors coming soon :-)))

Well bad luck would be my best guess. Absolutely haunts us. Seems to strike every time we are in a position of strength and we end up with an old firm title race the following season. Which of course is the last thing anybody wants. If it’s not bad luck I can’t think what else it could possibly be……
Is there any chance of Stuttgart not taking this upcoming game too seriously because the Bundesliga is more important to them?
HS
Hope so 🤣

As do I but I know very, very little about German Football.
I had the feeling that top (ish ) English clubs are less committed at this stage and only really take the CL seriously and wondered if the same was true (?) of the Bundesliga.
Of course, if we win, the MSSM will be quick to tell us that the Stuttgart were not taking it seriously ;-)
Cheerio for now.

An Tearmann – see they have identified Nygren as our right winger :)
Scotland will set up camp at the home of Charlotte FC for the duration of the World Cup, the Scottish FA has announced.
National team head coach Steve Clarke visited facilities in America after December’s draw – which pitted Scotland against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil in the group stage.
The Scottish FA has now settled on working from MLS side Charlotte FC’s state-of-the-art training facility, with the squad staying nearby.
The Atrium Health Performance Park in East Charlotte opened in 2023 and is home to Charlotte’s first team, NextGen and Academy sides.
The 52,000-square-foot facility has eight pitches and all that Scotland will need as they prepare for their return to the World Cup for the first time since 1998.
Scotland face Haiti in Boston in their group stage opener on Sunday, 14 June (02:00 BST) in Boston.
They will then take on Morocco on Friday, 19 June (23:00) in Boston again, before finishing against five-time winners Brazil in Miami on Wednesday, 24 June (23:00).
The team will fly to and from the host cities from their North Carolina base for each game.
Julian Araujo is not ruling out making a permanent move to Celtic in the summer after his first goal for the club sealed Sunday’s dramatic 3-2 win at Kilmarnock. (The Herald – subscription required), external
Luis Palma has told Celtic he wants to leave permanently to stay on at loan club Lech Poznan but the Honduras winger, who still has two-and-a-half years to run on his contract in Glasgow, admits it’s out of his hands. (Daily Record)
Celtic and their fan grouping called the green brigade had a good meeting
Early doors but hope a solution is at hand.

You see, why should the board listen to a manager who told lies?
He agreed after every TW that the board had done well by him and he was very appreciative for their efforts.
And then at the AGM, after “He” cannot get a tune out of the players that the board bought him, then “He” has failed to get a tune out of the new player, “He” starts saying, “It was’t “He” who bought the players, it was the club!”
Why were you not demanding that Rodgers be sacked by the board for such brazen toxicity spreading?
That you x 60,000 have failed to see through Rodgers for 9 years on and off – IS NOT THE BOARDS FAULT!
Rodgers shafted people like you because you thought that he was a brilliant manager as he competed against SKINT SPL opposition on and off for 9 years.
But he was not so clever looking when the skint teams wised up and let him know that his tea would be out soon.
In Rodgers last task at Celtic CLQ vs Kiarat Almaty.
Rodgers failed and cost Celtic £40 million CL monies.
And what did the dumb as fk fans do?
They blamed the board for Rodgers failures!
So the board could not trust Rodgers word.
Only a fool would.
But when there are x 60,000 fools…oh dear!
And now the board have to try to make sense out of a supporter base who’ve been “MIND WIPED” by Rodgers the cheap liar.
If supporters cannot see through a cheap liar like, Rodgers, then why should the board GAF what the “MIND WIPED” supporters say about ANYTHING?
Maybe the board will put MON’s nose out of joint by not pursuing extra tickets for Ibrox, as the boards likely explanation to MON will be along the lines of:
“Are you serious Martin? These fkn idiots? Seriously Martin?”
Or words along those lines!
Until a sleekit clique tries to smear you with lies, racism and other bs, then you will fail to understand the conceptual twists and turns of my posts.
Never judge someone until you have walked for 7 decades in their shoes, is today’s lesson.
Peace to you and all of your family.

“How does mentioning a black person’s name make you a racist? As for the rest of your gibberish; wtf?
We had an experienced winner of a manager at the start of the season but our board thought they knew better than him and decided not to listen to him…..”

HJ- A pal, an ex cop, worked on the Hillsborough Inquiry, for years you were asked if you were a Mason before you got the job, those who said ‘yes’ got chased
My Father in law was in the Edinburgh police and always said it worked the other way. He was convinced that being RC held him back. Most of the higher ranking officers were masons.
* I live in Ontario which for many years was called orange Ontario, not so now and not for a long, long long time, in fact since the end of WWII when the Federal Government mandated the Provinces to take more immigration as in order to prosper the country required that.
Ontario pushed back saying they only wanted Northern Europeans as they were more skilled, no Italians or Portuguese, but the Feds denied this request so the Province said they could only work in construction or farming, Latin’s in construction was like the Irish in the UK.
There were zero Chiefs of Police, Fire Services, Mayors or CEO’s in the Insurance Industry, in fact they all had to be ludge members, no NOT the Knights Templar kind but the lol and I don’t mean laughing out loud either, but that soon changed as the years rolled on and their influence waned.
Anyway a young man appeared at his local police station with commendable experience in the police and applied for a job, on looking over it the desk sergeant was suitably impressed until he came to the religion question, answer RC, so just like an 1872 scout of the bygone days of yore, he handed the application back saying he was sorry but he had nae chance, the applicant pushed it back to him and said he would take the chance.
The applicant, Bill McCormack was born in the at time British Protectorate of Mauritius, then went on to graduate from Atlantic College in Dublin where he went to sea and was a civilian employee of the Marconi International Marine Communication Limited aboard British Merchant Navy ships serving as a radio officer on several ships.
He was the son of British Colonial Police Colonel William McCormack who was decorated with an MBE by the King for his work with prison reform and children’s polio, after completing training in the Staffordshire County Police, the younger McCormack served as a Constable in Bermuda Police Force where he met and married his Canadian born wife in St. Theresa’s Cathedral in the City of Hamilton, and returned to Toronto with her, before joining the Metropolitan Toronto Police, prior to becoming the Chief of Police, he spent a number of years as a homicide detective in Toronto
The couple had five children, 3 of whom later became police officers. Michael is the former president of the Toronto Police Association, Kathy is an OPP Sergeant, and Jamie is a Toronto Police Detective.
Ontario unlike the rest of the country had become a staunch Province and that is mainly due to Daniel O’Connell forcing the government to concede Catholic Emancipation in 1829, it was then the southern protestants fled the country including Irish Grand Master ogle gown who in 1829 started the LOL in Ontario, but all that is long ago and far away, as the first Catholic Mayor of Toronto was elected in 1980, but unknown to the electorate he converted in office, since then there have been 3 women and 1 of the Jewish faith, oh and 1 Democratic Socialist.
This Province has moved on, sadly the land of my birth has NOT, and until it does it will never be a nation again.

Good news on the supporter front. Hope we can get an agreement that will take us through to the end of the season, the Bhoys need all the kind of help only the support can give. I mentioned earlier that the whole of the North Curve, and areas alongside it appear to have been sold out, so expect good atmosphere for the EL game!
O’Dea is getting a platform for his opinions recently, as someone who played and worked at Celtic I find him dull boring and negative about Celtic, the piece on BR is full of holes , I doubt he knows anything about what happened.
Tell you what, the right back of Bournemouth must be a hell of a player

I stopped going because the supporter base refused to walk out of the front door with MON after he went wildly off script, to do the fans a turn by tipping them off that the PLC under Lawwell were going to introduce “THE SLOW LANE” asset stripping of the quality of the product on the pitch, AND, in the dugout.
People like you fell to your knees and worshipped “THE SLOW LANE” like little sheep.
PS, Fergus tried to hammer Wim Jansen RIP, and Murdo MacLeod, in the 1997/98 season when they were trying to stop a £100+ million Hun team from winning 10 in a row.
WJ & MM resisted sleekit Fergus and were told that even if they win the league then they will still be sacked!
Both of these heroes had to resign and retain their integrity.
Fergus – Tory, Lawwell – Tory, did not give a damn about the product on the pitch because 60,000 fans are trapped into the all season ticket trap, because of the all seating trap, which was introduced by David Murray, Greame Souness, Margaret Thatcher.
Going along with Tory Capitalist traps = The end of Celtic-ness.
Imho.
TT- Interesting history there, thanks for sharing
Why did Rodgers lumber us with the big fat goalie and the always injured Iheanacho?
Parkhead is no place for former Leicester cliques draining resources.

Re the rail/standing section.
Remember Celtic fans called the green brigade only have a small section within the rail standing section,200+ or so.
I think apart from the small inset most of the games it has been bout 60%full to my rough eye
It is good there will be a full ground i agree.

I hear ye but unfortunately for Alec Rae that money will be used to pay bills.
Guy doesn’t have two bob and to be honest fair play to him for working as a funersl director.
In other matters Celtic desperately need more in the midfield.
With that in mind, I think Tony Ralston could be this years Robson or Hartley.
