LENNY LOSES TO BRENDAN

NEIL LENNON lost the battle of the Celtic-supporting bosses when Bolton went down 2-1 to Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool tonight.

The Irishmen, both Hoops fans, came face-to-face again in the FA Cup replay and ex-Parkhead gaffer Lennon was out of luck.

In the second-half, Eidur Gudjohnsen put Lenny’s men ahead with a penalty-kick, but Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho scored in the last five minutes to seal victory.

Neil Danns didn’t help Bolton’s cause when he was banished after picking up a second yellow card late on for a rash tackle on Joe Allen.

Rodgers, who admits his favourite player was Paul McStay when he was growing up in Northern Ireland, will see his team face Crystal Palace in the next round.

Tonight’s win levels up the head to head record between the two managers with each having one win, one draw and one defeat. The draw at Anfield resulting in tonight’s FA Cup replay and Neil Lennon’s victory came in Dublin when Celtic beat Liverpool by 1-0 with Amido Balde grabbing the all important winner!

With 85 minutes on the clock tonight, Neil Lennon was on course for another memorable scalp but the late goals let Liverpool escape where Barcelona couldn’t!
