LENNY STEPS UP AJETI BID

NEIL LENNON has stepped up his efforts to bring West Ham misfit Albian Ajeti to Celtic on a season-long loan.

The Hoops boss was hopeful of the temporary switch being rubber-stamped last week until the Swiss international striker stalled on the move.

Lennon, however, has had further discussions with the frontman’s representatives in an effort to get the deal over the line.

Ajeti has rarely figured with the London club since his £8million arrival from Basel last summer and Davie Moyes is willing to let the 23-year-old go to the champions with the view of a £5million permanent shift.

The proposed transfer was put on hold with Ajeti asking for time to consider his options, as CQN reported.

Ajeti’s original preference was to continue in the Premier League, but he also sees European football with the Parkhead men as very tempting, according to Sky Sports News.

Newly-promoted West Brom are among a few other clubs who are monitoring his situation.
