Lessons learned from Friday experiment

828

After every experimental line-up (such as Friday’s), it’s tempting to ask what the manager learned from the experience.

The partnerships on the left and right wings didn’t look right.  Emilio Izaguirre didn’t overlap as often as usual and Stuart Armstrong was less effective than normal.  A lack of space impacted the James Forrest-Adam Matthews partnership on the right.  Forrest was manhandled until he switched left or got inside the box, when he was able to play unhindered.

Ineffectiveness on the wings led to the same up front.  Anthony Stokes doesn’t get to play centre forward too often and didn’t really get much of a chance on Friday.  Stokes anonymity was the most glaring aspect of the game but I suspect the responsibility lies elsewhere.

  10. Ok. Am I missing something

2 months ago it was obvious that the new club would be playing hibs in the play off

After hertz losing yesterday what has changed

They still play hibs( or maybe Falkirk ) in 2 legged play off

What’s changed Why don’t they just start playoff now and put the new club out of its misery

I have a bottle of that fine drop less than a yard from me,but it’s off limits for now. As my birthday this year falls on a Saturday,I might spoil myself!

You are absolutely correct,it’s wonderful stuff.

I got a mail from our famous drammer. For the first time I can recall, that manic cheeriness has deserted him. I really felt for the guy,he made Swindon sound like heaven on earth!!

As for me,mate, same as ever. Fruitlessly searching for a winner, but spending little in pursuit. Time to start saving for Easter, methinks.

I take it you will be there?

  14. 16 roads - Celtic über alles... on

Bobby M – I’ve never set foot in Australia in my life mo chara, and I’ve no intention of ever doing so.

Could have told Phileas Fogg that the place is a paradox, best avoided if possible – however life is a journey, and ye have to allow the travelling Tims to learn where is good and where is tripe for themselves.

The Voyage as Christy Moore sang.

Dublin 2016 – 100million%, but we won’t be there at Easter time mate – unless I win the Euro millions between now and then.

Early March is a good time to visit Dublin, a reckon.

It’s a lot less expensive that time of year.

Maybe, a suppose – I would purchase a wee cottage, South West coast of Ireland, down Kerry way – Fenit to be exact, for holidaying purposes only.

But to leave Beal Feirste behind, for good?

First bank holiday I have had off in years … Hoping for a decent day but a dry one will do me fine .

Celtic play again the day after tomorrow ;)

  19. So, it looks like Sevco could be on the way up after all (still 50-50 – I expect them to beat Hibs but have a tough game against the Premiership team).

But momentum counts for a lot. As do Honest Mistakes, as we all know.

How do we all feel about that?

Personally, I expected them to get promoted at the start of the season, and mentally was prepared for the inevitable “Rain-jurzz are baack!” hysteria.

Now, I’m not so sure. Part of me looks forward to hammering them four times a year, and I think the deep structural problems at Ibrox will keep them low for quite some time.

But them in the top flight is still a pretty hideous prospect…
