ODSONNE EDOUARD has declared he wants to stay at Celric – and heaped praise on boss Brendan Rodgers.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker is coming to the end of his season-long loan at the champions and has proved to be a hit with his goals in the recent wins over Sevco Rangers at Ibrox and Parkhead.
Rodgers has described the 20-year-old frontman as one of the finest young talents he’s ever worked with and confirmed his intention to sign him on a permanent deal.
And £7million-rated attacker told prestigious French magazine L’Equipe:“I am happy at the club, with the team, the coach. He has given me a lot of confidence.
“The aim is to stay here. For me, this would be the best option.
“It’s a top club with a top coach. He will help me with my development. It would be a pride for me to wear the Espoirs (France U21) jersey next season. I want to show what I am worth.”
Edouard insisted it was his choice to remain at Parkhead, but admitted the decision may be out of his hands.
Rodgers, however, revealed he was confident of making the Frenchman a full-time Hoops star.
He said: “A very, very good chance, hopefully (he will stay). He wants to be here.
“It will be a case of getting an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.”
