Let’s be clear, our football was corrupted

574

I see a bit of ‘It was five years ago, get over it’ going around today. Let’s be clear, our football was corrupted for over a decade as a dependency on spending money you don’t have took hold at Ibrox, infected many other clubs, before sending Rangers into administration and liquidation.  And that’s not touching side letters hidden from HMRC, shredded correspondence and hundreds of games undertaken with incorrectly registered players.  It was a very human tale of avarice and a desire to be seen as top dog in the social pecking order.

For 8 years before Administration Day the Cassandras on here who predicted what was to come, were also told to get over themselves, that as club as big and powerful as Rangers would always find someone to bail them out. Some of us were predicting the crash and burn a lot longer than that.

What I don’t read is ‘Get over it, the lessons have been learned’, because it is painfully obvious that at Ibrox, with the same directors in charge as before liquidation, prioritising financial security (for the club, that is) hasn’t happened. Every passing transfer window it’s also plain that we have more than a few adherents to David Murray’s ‘speculate to accumulate’ policy in the comments section.

So until the lesson has been learned (and a long time thereafter), I’ll reserve the right to recall the facts and financial reality, and to celebrate that great day: 14 February 2012, the first Administration Day at Ibrox.  If one day you read Newco statements that say, “We’re going to match expenditure to income, and be happy with who we are”, it could be the last admin there, but don’t hold your breath, this turkey has another turd to drop.

    Without substance.

Now, let me again ask, if the corruption in Scottish Football was well known, why did nobody on our PLC challenge it?

I seem to recall, a while ago now, John Reid and his dossier. So lets not pretend the corruption was not common knowledge within the PLC, it most certainly was known and understood.

So, again….Why wasnt it confronted head on?

Simple question, that ive yet to receive an answer to.

Rangers administered their Discount Option Scheme illegally there is no question about that and the proof is in the public domain, strange how many Celtic supporters choose to ignore that evidence when demanding evidence of wrong doing, it was in the public domain during the LNS the Plc were surprised at the outcome.

  6. C’mon ghuys, don’t feed the troll. You were doing very well for a wee while. Just remind yourself you can NEVER, EVER argue with a troll and win – can’t be done.

The blog’s been great for a few days, it was obvious that that state of affairs couldn’t be allowed to continue, especially on this special anniversary day.

    My question remains.

No ifs, buts, or maybe’s: If the corruption was common knowledge, why didnt the PLC confront it?

Maybe they decided it was pointless as nothing could be achieved by doing so.

For the sake of discussion let’s say they had said “The SFA is corrupt we have the evidence and here it is” but the SFA deny it point blank anyway. What then? Do we go to UEFA? CAS? You can’t take your association to the courts as you’ll get blocked from European football.

Like you I think an answer would be interesting but I’m not as clear as some are, that it’s because they were part of it.

Same club myth is killing Sevco stone dead.

Its pretty clear now that they aren’t going to last they are dying at an incredibly fast rate, with dangerous fools insistent on mythology and a continuity that ended in liquidation.

They let their club die, and everyone left, has to suffer the consequences of an impossible return to an entity that was killed by football fraud and downright blatant cheating.

What a legacy, what an awful existence, if only they’d been honest and began again, and not pretended to be Rangers.

The next step is to find another real Rangers man, as real as Dave King, a fate worse than death, they’ll wheel out a new ‘Struth’ and if its not Walters Myth it’ll be a clone, that can park the abestos bus.

What a gift Celtic got, after years of suffering at the hands of fraudsters.

God bless all Scottish football fans that didn’t live to see the expose, and the resultant continuity farce.

I thought the reasons were made public at the time, did they no make an arse of aligning the charges with the evidence, charged with one thing while collecting evidence to prove something else ?

    Simple.

We confront it head on, and refuse to take part in a corrupt system.

Thats what most people would do in those kinds of situations, would they not?

We are not responsible for corruption, its not the supporters who are bent my friend.

Are you saying we should have withdrawn from all SFA competition? What then?

Better to die noble than take part in a corrupt regime in the hope that one day things might be better?

  21. General question.

When did Scottish football start being corrupt? Before David Murray, or was he the instigator?

  22. CANAMALAR IT LOOKS LIKE OCD OBSESSION

Something like that, I read somewhere that it broke down at the part of Police Scotland, that would be just too convenient for words that would.

The corruption involved goes to the very hearts of those who believe they are our betters and as such are above the law.

  24. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

Ah, but i do know the answer.

The reason that the corruption was not confronted, was because certain people had things to hide.

And that, is generally the reason why things get covered up.

    There is no big mystery.

    Scottish Football is BENT.

So the fact the club is a beacon for so, so many good acts that probably wouldn’t happen without it doesn’t matter to you because the governing body of the competition they play in is corrupt.

The club, which itself has done nothing wrong (other than take part), should have shut it’s doors in the face of it.

The lifeblood of the club, the fans, also knew what was going in but still paid into it. Are they guilty of allowing the corruption to endure or were they simply wanting to see their team rise above it and conquer regardless of the obstacles put in their way?

This is not a black and white issue.

I’m tempted to just advise you to completely cut yourself off. The club is unlikely to ever be what you want it to be (nor do I think it ever has – not in your lifetime anyway). It’ll be healthier for you.

    This might amuse you.

I was reared as a child by this madwoman, who taught me some strange things.

She taught me to always stand my ground against lies, and to always tell the truth, isnt that wild and crazy eh?

That poor madwoman, what was she thinking eh.

The Truth is exactly that, there is no dispute about any of this.

Im not a paragon of virtue, but i know lies and bs when i see and hear it.

    Thanks to that madwoman:)
