There are truisms in life. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, night follows day and Hibernian Football Club will not win the Scottish Cup. However, a failure to lift the trophy since Orville said to Wilbur, ‘I bet this thing gets off the ground’, does not guarantee subsequent failures. Hibs have already beaten Celtic this season and are perfectly capable of doing so again on Sunday.
Before this season Kilmarnock hadn’t won at Celtic Park since 1955, but it happened. St Johnstone, Motherwell, St Mirren, Inverness and Ross County beat us too. All these defeats were against the odds; no more so than Hibs are on Sunday.
Celtic need to get in touch with how they felt after their League Cup semi-final defeat to St Mirren, a day of so much regret. The 90 minutes will pass quickly, there’s no point leaving something in your locker for next week. Let’s get off to a flier.
Many thanks for sending over your Seville photographs, we are planning to pull photos and your comments on the event together into a special publication. If you have any more please send them in, celticquicknews@gmail.com.
Willie Wallace will be signing copies of his book at Waterstones on Sauchiehall St between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, 25th May. Bet he knows what he was doing that very afternoon 46 years earlier. Get along to see him or order your own signed copy below. This is going to be a great weekend.

Having established status of Vic Wanyama, can anyone enlighten me of Zheng ZHi’s eligibility for the Cup Final?
Wouldn’t put it past Gollum

Ignoring the anti-pathetic Celtic culture of the ” ruling body ” is akin to throwing in the towel.

Our very own ZZ should be captain for the day in light of the fact that it will be his 600th appearance for the club

Looking forward to Sunday, as I always do when Celtic contest a SC Final.
Have attended a few – first one in 1969, last one in 2004.

No not ignore or accept, the tactics we employ need to be changed.
Macjay how do you react when challenged by aggression ? Contrast that with how you’d react to persuasion and diplomacy.
Now I’m not being naive and think our enemies in the SFA will change. But I believe change will come as more reasonable, malleable individuals become involved. For example, the refereeing fraternity make-up has changed to be more representative of the community.
I honestly believe that our usual reaction does us no favours and may even provide the old guard with new recruits.
Change from within and persuasion or aggression. Which is likely to succeed ?

If Collum can make a decision without seeing the incident, I’m pretty sure that he can book a player without laying eyes on him. He’s THAT good.

good news for lenny hope he collects cup from ogilvie and gives him a great big winners giruy
team for weekend will be interesting -Stokes or Samaras – Forest or Commons – Mulgrew in midfield ? – no matter who plays we need to start with a desire to win the game and ensure Collum cannot influence the result.

A new football innovation were nothing would stick
Teflon team was now Scottish football’s gimmick
Throw what you like, the man cried from the stall
No matter the accusation, come watch it fall
–
Try as they might the fans suspected a trick
Despite all the evidence, the thing was non-stick
Corruption, evasion, a downright refusal to pay
The Teflon team just don’t need to walk away
–
Flaws started appearing in the new-fangled device
Things would stick if you could pay the right price
Trophies and medals, history without glue
All stuck although toxic, it was their due.
Norris ….

It was a few years ago I was there, but Kenna’s would be the shout if still there. Owned and run by the family of Jeff Kenna (of ROI fame). Good shop and family friendly too.
Back to lurking now…

Seeing that we are obliged to honour the SFA by appearing in their Cup Final on Sunday and seeing that a large number of our support feel obliged to attend, my wish is for Celtic to walk on to the pitch and take complete control of the large green rectangle for the duration of the contest.
My personal preference would be for us not to be anywhere near Hampden, until it has been fumigated: but that’s just me.
BT
Just trying to make borgo feel less picked on ;)
Go on … blame the meds ….
Paul67 – Orville’s sidekick was Keith.
I see we are getting additional assistant ‘penalty box’ referees on Sunday, so Willie Collum will be accompanied by Bobby Madden behind the goals to see what no one else can see.

Norris .. The old boy from corrie of that name would of done better ;)
