  1. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our two best performances all season have been against teams who wanted to play football against us, the other being Hibs.

So much to enjoy and admire. A fair amount to be frustrated about.

“dearie dearie , easily pleased and the tackle on the line for the penalty was clumsy and rash.”

NO my friend just a celtic fan calling it as I seen it.

I thought Duffy was very good tonight in general…and the more the game went on he was playing like he really wanted it AGAINST A SECOND HALF SURGE from a very good team.

There has been enough complaining about this team and Duffy in particular…most of it completely deserved I may add.

But tonight I saw some backs to the wall defending that I thought was going to be beyond us this season.

I give Duffy a strong 8-10 and along with Laxalt our best defender.

We are now moving in the right direction.I am very happy for the first time in 4 games.

    You should be too.

  3. Duffy ? Some good stuff, some poor stuff. Stayed central but was a bit rash at times (trying too hard?).

Some great defensive headers but didn’t defend their first one well.

I hope it galvanises him and do feel for the fact that come Sunday he’ll be lining up with another CH partner, which can’t be easy.

Haste ye back big Kris Ajer.

  4. its a game of inches, could have given away an early goal, some great saves early on kept us in it then a magnificanto goooaaalll. Lille lose momentum and looked very ordinary. motm Scot bain. Thought the defence played well against the best from france when momentum swung. I looked to tonight’s game as a training session, time for some of the walking wounded to get some match time. Nothing to complain about.

Ntcham will never get the big time transfer he dreams of. the guy has no heart. Playing for Celtic for him is just another day at the office. fair play, his career his choice. hard to watch though.

assuming Milano finish top, we are still in this. europe could have been over tonight. well played Celtic and may your gods bless you all.

4am and im not tired, sigh. was gonna watch Arsenal but they put out an 2nd team.

    may you be happy

    may you be well

    may you live in peace.

  5. Sat 15 yards too deep from HT,a more confident team would have pushed up a bit, much better, a shitey deflection, but they are a good side, again IMO doesn’t know when to put a sub on,5 can be used, some much better performances by a few,I didn’t think Duffy was as bad as some making out.

  6. We played well tonight in spells.

Defence was still a bit dodgy but overall a lot happier with tonight’s performance than those of late.

Felt we were more dangerous on the attack, more direct if you like.

We move forward to the 🐑🐑🐑 on Sunday

He was outstanding…. I thought and the penalty against him was a joke

dearie dearie , easily pleased and the tackle on the line for the penalty was clumsy and rash.

The ‘easily pleased’ reference is a tad un-Celtic. Just because someone deviates from your depressing, downbeat narrative is no reason to sneer.

just giving my opinion as others have on individual players performances , can’t for the life of me see what our loanee centre back brings to the team , not looking for scapegoats only quality.

    WHAT HE SAID

  11. They raved about how good Lille were before kick off.

Then when they make chances against us we are crap!

Cannae have it both ways. If they are that good they will make chances.

Sutton being the main pain in the arse.

Don’t get why people like this guy.

    Fine player… shock jock pundit.

    Hail Hail.

  12. Far far better from Celtic, very well done bhoys

3pts would have been nice ☹️

Lille were a very good team, very good

    Ajer injury was a blow.

    Now for brutal honesty

Ntcham gave up in 2nd half

I posted on a WhatsApp group at 19.02, as he gave up on a pass just behind from Elyanousi on their 18 yard line

On same blog I posted at his hearted tackle, which led to Lille corner & first goal

I posted again that his head was down and should be removed

2 mins later 2-2 as he had given up on his role

Make no apologies, think we could have got 3 points if Neil had made the changes, or change on Ntcham earlier

    Back to positive

How much for Laxalt in the summer ?? He is the real deal

    Elyanousi

    Bain

& Mcgregor my top 3 though

Let’s move on from tonight and take the positives Bhoys

There certainly seems to a bad luck sign hanging over us this season , maybe it’s just something that’s sent to test those who would make history .

Injury , Covid and the EL draw . We are a pot 1 team , Sevco are a pot 3 team and yet the two opponents we have faced so far are clearly of a higher standard than those Sevco face . It will make securing the 10 and qualifying for the knockout all the sweeter .

dear antipodean friends, sorry if ive missed your posts, not in the mood to put up with those matta-harris(scottish for ‘big gessies’) sleeket wans on here.

Wind yer neck in. I’ll call it as I see it. You do likewise.

I think (that alright with you) he wanders around with little purpose, neither protecting nor creating and we suffer both ways as a result.

You can’t seem to deal with an alternative opinion.

    Tough.

    …..

Post what you like. Our host has always allowed that.

We know you dont rate Scott Brown. You have made that extremely clear the first time you told us.

But to be fair, maybe everyone didnt hear you, so you told us again .

But then you told us the same thing yet again, and again and again and again.

Maybe you get off on it like some form of Buddhist chant but to some of us , it is just tedious.

For what it is worth, my estimation (and indeed yours) of our captain is totally irrelevant.

The only opinion that truely matters is that of Neil Lennon.

So maybe it is not really me who can’t seem to deal with an alternative opinion

  16. glendalystonsils on

I thought Ntcham was good first half but ran out of steam in the second . Should have been subbed sooner.

would also have given big Tam more time to warm into the game .

  17. We looked like a team tonight. We carried some luck but so did they.I think we all would have took a point before the start. Its frustrating we can’t play like this more. But players coming back from injury will hopefully help that.On to Sunday now 🍀

  18. Some really good performances, some very good chances created but unfortunately as game progressed the midfield lost their way a little. Brown, McGregor and Ntcham were chasing shadows after the 65th minute mark and really struggled. Substitutions should have occurred then and not in the 81st minute.

Wavy – work it out for yourself.

I see differing views. I see fellas seeing different things, biases kicking in but an overall view that there was lots to be pleased about and a result we would have taken before Ko, prbably tempered by being 2-0 up.

I do see a couple of posters struggling with the idea of different opinions and preferring instead to take the man and not the ball. I don’t see huns personally.

Much, much better. Looked really dangerous going forwarded, defended well for long periods, Laxalt and Frimpong both excellent.

Central defence and defending set pieces still dreadful. Manager needs to manage games much better, particularly when we need subs on.

If we play at or near that level on Sunday we’ll blow Aberdeen away.

  21. Ron, I am a big fan of Duffy & was delighted when he came, he did very well first couple of games, but I am first to admit that his mistakes cost us big time in next few games.

Reality of life is midfielders & Strikers can make plenty of mistakes but once game is over they are quickly forgotten about.

When a Keeper or a defender make a mistake that leads to a goal it becomes tattooed in the memory Bank.

Duffy has fecked up a few times and unfortunately for him no one bailed him out so his errors have been magnified.

Tonight there was the non penalty incident & another rash tackle that gave away a free in a dangerous area,

Thankfully tonight it didn’t cost us, so maybe he got a bit lucky tonight but in fairness he has had plenty of bad luck.

Apart from those tackles he did well & in last 20 minutes when we were under the cosh defended the Box well.

No need to be putting the boot in tonight,

  22. I make no mistake that I’m a Ntcham fan. Lots to like in the first half but blowing out his arse after 60 minutes. Should have gone earlier. Don’t get the whole ‘no heart’ thing.

  23. TBH. would have taken a draw but after that incredible first half im feeling a bit disappointed.why the fck did we play so deep from the start of 2nd half?usually happens with about 20mins to go but for some reason it started a lot earlier.

Great goals by Moi and maybe should have had a 3rd.

  24. Thought Duffy had a much better 2nd half (poor first half though)

Also thought Brown done well for 70 odd minutes

Christie done lots of covering for Frimpong

    &

    McGregor same for Laxalt

All good and far better teamwork

  25. BIG WAVY,

    I agree,1st half excellent.Second half,seemed to lose energy.Good to see Soro coming on.Hope its a regular thing.

  26. The dilemma with Duffy is ,we take him out the team now (although we probably can’t because of injuries) it might kill any confidence he has left.Keep him in the team and right now it doesn’t end well

  27. Curates egg performance or a Spaghetti western — The Good / The Bad / The Shambolic.

Our squad is competitive with theirs regarding talent — just a case that the confidence / the organisation / the coaching / the luck is missing at the moment.

In the second half when we actually tried stuff we created some good chances just a case that we are not playing for each other and the final pass was to a corner flag.

SB had a good first half but he ran out of steam and should have been subbed 10 minutes earlier.

CMcG had a poor game and he got worse when we needed some experience to do the easy stuff.

RC had a good game and was at ease playing at their level — just a case when he tried to play at our level Hollywood took over and the sloppiness returned.

ON was poor — he really looks as if he is phoning it in and waiting for January.

NL again did not lead from the sidelines — he seems to be at war with himself and needs support from real football people who want to talk about the game rather than clipes who want to carry tales back to the boardroom.

However it was a poor result but a better performance.

Finally DL is a real player — he is class and acts like it.

JF is a real talent — he is class just a case he has to think about it at times.

SW shows a lot of promise — he looks as raw as sushi as a defender but he has poise and makes the most of his opportunities. His composure on the ball shames too many in the team. If he drifts away to a career in the Highlands or Ayrshire then the club has the issue not him.
