Limited time to build fitness for new recruits

Celtic have only one game before they meet Benfica in the Champions League, away to St Johnstone on Saturday.  The Perth team are bottom of the SPL without a win so far this season, so will not present a significant challenge, but Celtic could do with a sterner test.

Lassad Noiuoiu, Efe Ambrose and Miku Fedor each need to be stretched before they will be ready for Champions League football.  Even if they get a full 90 minutes on Saturday, so I can’t see either starting against Benfica a week on Wednesday, unless they possess uncommon natural fitness, or our injury crisis steps up a level.

  1. Evening Peeps!

Well seeing this is an International weekend – have resorted to watching Santos .v. Sao Paulo………………….. what a drag!

Played like a training game (admittedly these guys can pass a ball) – 1 minute to go and the most both GKs have been troubled by is a poor pass-back.

Pathetic soft tackles – players going down and squealing like stuck pigs – the ref has been the busiest guy on the park with his little can of spray-foam – yet unbelievably a player has managed to get himself a red card!

As for shots-on-target – the crowds behind both goals have been most at risk from being hit by a stray shot/ cross/ pass-back.

FT 0-0 – not many Brazilians waxing lyrically!

I felt the same last Monday, the old legs stiffened up.

Would you be able to meet lunchtime Tuesday, I have lots of requests for wristbands, another twenty if you have them, 1-2pm?

I know what is happening re the middle east, but………..we have strayed a ways away from what you originally said…….

That the bubble would burst sooner rather than later.

I disagree, football is recession proof, aye there will be a few who will go to the wall, but in the main, football will survive, as I said………

This will have little effect to football in the west, or anywhere in the world, take away the opium, carnage ensues.

When I started watching and was looking for team brother and friends went for popular teams

49ers Giants Redskins I wanted a team that meant something to me so New York being favs city and Jets playing green and white made joyce for me. Have been to two regular season games in New York steelers 88 and Jaguars in 99 World Bowl at Murrayfield but the best was Superbowl 24 49ers v Denver game was a blowout but to see Montana Rice Lott Craig Young and Elway was amazing

A wee misunderstanding, I did nothing today, Bundoran Bhoy and Mouldy67 were the cyclists today, raising money for charities.

My efforts were last week in the Glasgow Run.

  8. What an incredible sporting and organisational success London2012 has been.

Sometimes in this country we forget just how good we can be at organising these kind of events.

Flawless and inspiring from beginning to end.

We definitely drifted but sometimes it is good to drift.

The impact on the oil price will be frightening and everyone will be tightening belts more than ever.

Celtic have the most amazing season ticket sales and the World is not going to be the same in 6 months time never mind 1 year.

This unbelievable debt, that most are in, can not be paid back now, no matter what measures are taken. So the rug is going to get pulled soon and the whole new system they always wanted to bring in, will be brought in.

    IMO. ;)

A Superbowl attendance? I doff my cap to you!

It was great to see Elway finally getting a title a few years after that game.

Pardon my ignorance but what system do you see being installed?

I fast forwarded to 2.22 in your video but still couldn’t make the connection to the Muslim brotherhood??

  13. Does anyone know the 49 numbers for Sunday teatime?

The main site and bet365 have not shown up the results. I hope someone has landed a big jackpot. ;))

Believe it or not, I agree with you.

But football will be relativly unscathed, I honestly believe that.

They can take away most things, the price of all comodities, food and the like will shoot through the roof, but taking away the masses recreation is a step they will not take.

    IMO :>)

    re. Jackie Mac

My point was £500 a week more is hardly a financial motivator to an experienced player such as Jackie moving south to a decent English outfit.

I’m one of those CQNers who “wouldn’t turn their nose up” at a job that paid me 24k a year.

In fact I’ve never had a starting salary near that and right now I wouldn’t turn my nose up to a job full stop.

Instead of hero worshipping overpaid, lazy, skilless soccer players in the EPL, the Irish should be putting the hurlers and football players on pedestals. Or Katie Adams. They have something fantastic in front of them, but their heads are up their rear ends when Sky and the EPL are on the TV.

there were 80,000 at the game,Gaelic games generally have a huge following and participation so I dont get your point

    And who is Katie Adams,

Is she any relation to Katie Taylor the boxer
