After a home defeat to St Mirren in November precipitated Gary Holt’s resignation as Livingston manager, the West Lothian club have won all eight games played, by any measure, they are the form team in Scotland right now.  They were 13 points behind fourth placed Hibernian after that St Mirren defeat.  Hibs have played three games more than Livingston since then but the gap has shrunk to 7 points.

That should illustrate how Livi will be a more difficult opponent than Hibs were this week.  New manager, David Martindale, will fancy his chances of making a name for himself at Celtic Park tomorrow.

Celtic are still without their 13 isolating players, as well as the long-term injured, although Nir Bitton returns from suspension and will likely replace Stephen Welsh.  I expect David Turnbull to move into the middle at the expense of Tom Rogic, with Ewan Henderson starting on the right as he finished against Hibs.

Neil Lennon might be thinking long and hard about Diego Laxalt, who conceded the late foul Hibs equalised from on Monday, and did the same at Ibrox, preceding the corner kick Newco scored from.  It is not totally Diego’s fault that we cannot defend set-pieces satisfactorily, but we need to find a way to stop him conceding them.  Replacement by Greg Taylor is an option.

I have no suggestions as to what we do up front but would not be surprised if Mikey Johnston moved inside.  On the positive side, Livingston will not know what to expect from us.

    Where did the perception that “the vaccine was going to make everything all right again” , come from? I don’t see it perpetrated by anyone with scientific training. Thinking like that, and arguing against that perception, is the very stuff of the social media list of questions which Greenpinata linked to.

     

     

    It is based on a false perception of science that everything is proven facts and 100% irrefutable.

     

     

    In fact , if a scientific theory is not capable of being refuted, then it does not stand as a theory.

     

     

    When you presented the view that the vaccine was not a cure, the reaction you got from me and others on here was – “who’s silly enough to say it was?”. We know, most of us, the difference between a preventitive measure and a cure. We have already several sucessful vaccines but only two of them have ever wiped out a disease- smalpox and rinderpest (a cattle disease). However, in the developed countries, vaccines have NEARLY eradicated diptheria, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and tetanus. They have been an undoubted boon.

     

     

    Educating us about the difference between cure and vaccine is up there with Petec ‘s cited right wing coke addict, Alex Jones, who ranted at his followers that “It’s not about the jews!”- well, who apart from rampant anti-semites, thought that it was all about the jews? There is no education there.

     

     

    As for giving Greenpinata a hard time- not guilty. Those were not Grenpinata’s expresed views. he linked to a social media meme and asked for comments on them. He got comments but not one person criticised greenpinata directly. Asking questions is fine; purveying fiction as fact- not fine

    From memory, the psychologist’s report ran to 37 pages.

     

     

    There was ONE PARAGRAPH about Dallas patting van Bronckhurst’s ass.

     

     

    Guess which paragraph the SMSM ran with?

    You know fine well the point I was making was that the perceived acceptance by the general population is that the vax will make it all go away and life is going back to the way it was, that is NOT going to happen, it’s not in the plan, the plan that a few months back was a con theory and now the MSM are actually talking about it, more so they are actively promoting it now, the new president of the US even had their slogan as his campaign slogan.

     

    Two weeks to flatten the curve Eh and look where we are today, if you can’t see the utter lies and manipulation of the scam, more fool you.

     

    The figures are still the same, they are not rising like they will have you believe, the survival rate is STILL 99.7 overall, that’s some pandemic.

     

    And afore anyone accuses me of saying this scam is a scam, I have been tested quite a few times because of the wife who wasn’t allowed into the hospital unless she was clear.

     

    Maybes if they had upped the PCR amplification rate we would have both been positive, up to say 40, that would have done it, when you hit the mid 40s and into the 50s, everyone and their dog are positive.

     

    But some will be on to regurgitate the usual propaganda pish that we are in a global pandemic and everyone is dying, take the vax and just maybes they will be right, just ask the Norwegian government, this vax is a trial on the human population, it can’t be anything else, why would dissenting voices be silenced, educated virologists, epidemiologists et all silenced for going against the agenda, who according to you and your ilk are quacks, remember that T, cos trust me I remember.

     

    As for the vaccines you mentioned, I agree with you 100%, I am not a vaccine denier, but I am not a fool.

    There are legitimate questions that require to be answered, and it is healthy to question government’s. Were our authorities economical with the truth last spring when we were told a lockdown would only be for a limited duration.

     

    I remember posting on here saying to be wary, very wary of the erosion of our liberties and the unquestioned acceptance of emergency powers.

    By any definition, we are in a global pandemic

     

     

    No one is saying “everyone is dying” but the death rate is consistently above any seasonal average so we know that it has a significant effect.

     

     

    There is a “maybes” involved but the message is that we are highly likely to be better off with fewer contracting the disease and fewer dying from it than would have been the case otherwise, That is what makes the vaccine a good thing.

     

     

    There is a “trial” element” involved as we are using different vaccines, tested under different trial conditions to those under which they will be rolled out. Thre is an element of “we can’t be sure it will be as reliable as the original trials said” but there is no element of “that renders it all worthless”. The Norwegian government, whatever it said in the past, is going to roll out three vaccines developed by Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer and BioNTech to innoculate its population.

     

     

    I am not directing the next bit at you and certainly not at greenpinata but too many of the anti-vaccine sources are not restricting themselves to healthy scepticism and intelligent questioning,; they are pushing false ideas about micro-chips being included, alcohol and foetal cells being in the vaccine mix, and regularly end up with the age old meme of it being all a semitic conspiracy, started by a Rothschild or someone with a -Stein surname ending.

     

     

    The series of questions with spurious answers, that greenpinata linked,misrepresented any sane scientific response, and gave comfort to the madness of the anti-vaccineer movement. On that ground, I am happy to rubbish it.

    No matter which team comes to Celtic Park they should be treated with respect. This is true in the ‘good times’ as well as the bad. In many years of watching Celtic I have seen surprising results both in winning and losing. Tomorrow we must play a TEAM, not a collection of individual players, many of whom are outside their comfort zone and position. The lack of con fidence is unbelievable.
