    10th March 2024. Celtic beat Livingston 4-2.

     

    I remember watching, thinking how weak the defence looked. Cup game, so a few changes.

     

    Line up

     

    Hart

     

    Johnston, Scales, Welsh, Taylor,

     

    Iwata, O’Riley, Bernardo

     

    Kühn, Maeda, Idah

     

    We also saw Kyogo, Forrest and Kelly coming on.

     

    Are fans and shareholders justified in being frustrated at the regression?

    thems ref today the same cheat who reffed our last game , so no surprise if well did not get a pen near full time today.

    We were struggling second half.Nobody telling me,every corner,you were not anxious.

     

    The game of two halves again.First,sparkling,second,dire.

    Barnes’ team drew with the huns on 27 Dec 1999 to give them a record of 13 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats. Better than this team. Unlike this team they won the league cup.

     

     

    Mowbray’s team won on 27 Dec 2009 to give them a record of 11 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. They then drew with the huns in the new year game. Similar to the current team. After Mowbray was bagged Lenny won 8 straight to finish the league season. If Wilf does the same I’ll eat my hat.

     

     

    Agree with your comment that we’re heading for a pasting. We’ll win some by a cricket score and lose others by the same. It’s chaos ball with too many poor players.

    I am not Maedas biggest fan,but today you pick him out,when he ran Livvi ragged in the first half,yet fail to mention Kenny,who never kicked a ball all day !!!!!!!!!!.Unbelievable.

    Maeda and Kenny are 2 of several players who have been atrocious in the last few latches .

     

     

    But our biggest problem just now is the bombscare of a board ,who have appointed a bombscare of a manager .

    well denied a stonewaller , watch the cheating ref’s body language as he lifts his left leg away, as if playing out the defender fouling the well attacker in the box trying to convince himself there was no contact from the defender.

    I was happy to see Kaspar benched today and honestly thought Sinisalo would grab his chance , but I didn’t think he convinced .

     

    He didn’t seem to fancy getting in among the bodies a clattering a few to get to the ball . Maybe that’s why we’re looking at other options to succeed Kaspar .

    Second half , just didn’t look comfortable and struggled with …….who knows what system !!

    nearly every time we tried to play a square ball into the middle area and never found the target player we immediately put the back 3 under pressure, getting the ball forward other than square would imo alleviate some of the defensive issues.

    It was right under Beaton’s nose which removes any possibility of error as the defender clearly stuck out a leg . Cheating is the only conclusion possible . He just couldn’t stomach being the one to cost his team points . I understand completely , I couldn’t do it to Celtic , so he shouldn’t be reffing games involving a team to which he is so emotionally attached .

    Hope everyone had a decent Christmas, apart from no internet, hence no tele it was Ok here, even the cooncil have complained about it, 4 days without internet, businesses were going spare.

     

    To the game, great first half, mistakes for their goals, second half a fekin disaster, out tacticed by a drug dealer FFS, strikers win games, defenders win leagues, we need both, who will the board conjure up I wonder ????

     

    Great three points BTW, some of the footy was great, some not so, leave it at that.

    If he gets time and the board are willing to spend big he may build a very exciting team, that is two big ifs. Playing this system with the players available right now, we won’t win the League title this season.

     

    I fear for us in the next two games, we conceded 11 corners today against the bottom team in the League. I’ve sometimes defended our stand in R/B, even with his limitations, but honestly to ask Ralston to play in a back 3 with an out and out winger like Yang wide right is really asking for trouble.

     

    Will the support have the patience when we lose another few games? Because playing as open at the back as we are at the moment, that will be the outcome as sure as night follows day.

    I am giving the manager time.When I say that,him and the Board the chance to show us they will give him.the players to play the system.

     

    My problem.We have RS ,CHs sitting on the bench.One,a highly rated Man City player.WTF are we watching Tony lumbering about the park?God help him,he barely gets away with it at RB when he has cover.This judgement worries me.

    11 corners conceded today.How long does anyonee think we will get away with that,knowing how we defend them?Huns have a 6.4 CH,very good at attacking set pieces.What tactics will we employ to combat this?Thank God Trusty is in top form,but he can’t plug everywhere.

    I missed the last 20 minutes or so of the game and I never thought I’d say a 4 2 win was an awful performance but, in my opinion, it was. How many corners did Livingston get? They looked like they could score every time they went forward. This was a game against the bottom team and our previous win was against a 10 man Aberdeen with four defeats before that. A decent team will slaughter us if this keeps up. Three points today is the only positive I’d take from it.

    What use did Kenny make of his height today.In fact what did he do today?

     

    How many attempts,how many near misses?He is nowhere near crosses across the box,very poor link up,wrong decisions.

     

    Apart from today,his efforts at putting great chances in the net the past 5 games have been horrendous.

    He doesn’t bother about defending its all about causing the opposition problems, it is not a serious system to win enough football matches, more so when you don’t have a Centre forward available. Sorry but AR in that right centre back position is so wrong I feel sorry for Tony , yes he will give his all but he will be exploited in games.KT wont be happy as the left CH either.We can maybe win at Fir Park, Sevco will be a totally different ball game.

    Most teams are using 4-3-3,even,City,Arsenal,PSG,etc.The problem is,they have the player for the job,and the rest of the team to back it up.

     

    We are a long way from that.Big problem.
