I’m putting today down to a bad day at the office. Livi deserved their win. I don’t think the ref got anything major wrong in the game, except perhaps Jacobs should have seen red near the end. To me Jacobs is a dirty player and he’s always looking to follow through and injure an opponent. Ryan’s sending off turned today’s game but it was the right decision. I don’t blame our manager either for team selection or substitutions. It’s hard to stick to playing football on that pitch. I have no doubt the likes of Julien will learn a lesson from today that he must keep calm. I also wish he would do less talking to the media (though that doesn’t have any impact on today’s game).
Anyway, for once I think it’s good we have a break. I have no doubt that we’ll win the league this season and fancy us to win all 4 Glasgow derbies.
They were better than us when we had 11 on the pitch. They won the match – not the ref and the pitch.
Neil picked a strong 11 and told them to earn the right to play football but they continued to fight and forgot to play. Dykes got into the heads of Julien, Ajer and Broony with his fouling, diving and feigning injury but we did not need to buy into it.
The dropped points v Hibs were unlucky; this was not. Our players need to play the game that suits us – not the game that suits hammer throwers.
We will lose our top position today but the race is a marathon- not a sprint. Ross County is the next milestone.
The blog was struggling for comments, so I will welcome the return of Sydney Tim, Ron67 and overseas (surrender) boy- wonder what brought them all back on today of all days?

And the subs were baffling – we were more coherent before the subs and looked the likelier to score. But then a silly foul in the middle of the park and… See above.

There was probably about a dozen things that went wrong today which all added up to a perfect storm. The red card so early and to our MVP was clearly pivotal to that. The team selection itself was OK i thought and a statement that we wanted to get the job done. We started slowly as they kicked everything that moved. You can see why the likes of Rodgers and KT ran for the hills from this shitshow League.
Being sent away from home for 5 out of the first 8 League games is at best odd. The trouble is you cant call it out after the game.
Anyway Collum made it all about him as usual and whilst the red card was correct the speed at which he drew the card was telling. He was his usual petty and inconsistent self thereafter. I thought we simply got it wrong tactically from that point. We should have dropped into a better shape and relied on our quality to bail us out. The subs were poor again and we took too long to remove Brown and too long to start hitting Bayo with long balls and getting on the scarps. The set species were as usual pitiful.
Ajer and Julien were given a hard time, the former was all over the place and looks like he’s not in a good place at the moment. For all the talk about the squad it looked wafer thin today. Rogic and Griffiths are never fit, in my view not acceptable. Johnston is a miss too. Ntcham is an empty jersey away from Celtic Park as has been proven time and time again.
Edouard, Forrest and Jullien disputed signs of only turning up when they fancy it. Neither impressed.
Today you miss guys like KT who lay it all on the line and give you a 7/10 performance week in week out.
Had the Huns went down to 10 today they would not have capitulated imo. Before we kick a ball again we will be 5 points behind. Hearts will capitulate as usual. This is a Country full of Huns and it shows. We are in a dog fight.

If you are a Celtic supporter, you should accept every game as a one off game, we got beat by a team that played to win, they were the better team on the day and desrved the three points.
The sending off was the correct decision, the tackle was bad and Cristie should have not made the tackle, our keeper made a terriblee mistake for the second goal, he was out of position when the opposition player headed it over his out streached arm missed the ball. He should have stayed on the goal line.
Celtic, like any other team are not infallable, and you have to accept the result on the day,it’s hard to take, but that’s the game of football, at the end of the season if Celtic don’t win the League then I shall join the rest of you and moan like hell, but until then, I think Celtic will win the League and hopefully the quadruple quadruple.

Poor performance from us today, i really don’t think the pitch helped. and 2nd goal was Larsssonesque to be fair. I’ve watched the red card a dozen time and while a bit reckless I dont think it was a sending off honestly.

Well they have now. I mentioned after the Hibs result that there would be a lot, not of days like this, (there won’t be) but of games and places like this. Livvy are brutal, but they are in the top six of that latest masonic creation the SPFL. Cork Celt listed an alternative team the other day, a completely different team to the one that beat Cluj.
