  1. I’m putting today down to a bad day at the office. Livi deserved their win. I don’t think the ref got anything major wrong in the game, except perhaps Jacobs should have seen red near the end. To me Jacobs is a dirty player and he’s always looking to follow through and injure an opponent. Ryan’s sending off turned today’s game but it was the right decision. I don’t blame our manager either for team selection or substitutions. It’s hard to stick to playing football on that pitch. I have no doubt the likes of Julien will learn a lesson from today that he must keep calm. I also wish he would do less talking to the media (though that doesn’t have any impact on today’s game).

Anyway, for once I think it’s good we have a break. I have no doubt that we’ll win the league this season and fancy us to win all 4 Glasgow derbies.

  2. Livi deserved to win.

They were better than us when we had 11 on the pitch. They won the match – not the ref and the pitch.

Neil picked a strong 11 and told them to earn the right to play football but they continued to fight and forgot to play. Dykes got into the heads of Julien, Ajer and Broony with his fouling, diving and feigning injury but we did not need to buy into it.

The dropped points v Hibs were unlucky; this was not. Our players need to play the game that suits us – not the game that suits hammer throwers.

We will lose our top position today but the race is a marathon- not a sprint. Ross County is the next milestone.

The blog was struggling for comments, so I will welcome the return of Sydney Tim, Ron67 and overseas (surrender) boy- wonder what brought them all back on today of all days?

  3. glendalystonsils on

We have the best squad of players in the league no doubt about it but today we showed a softness and naivety which were bread and butter to Livi and to Collum.

  4. Things will remain tight.

In January the board will panick.

    A couple of loan signings.

    £50M in the bank.

  5. ulysses mcghee - a demographic of one on

SFTB – we were poor before the red – the ball spent most of the match in the air – but the 2 goals were preventable – especially the second Jullien way off the mark with Dykes. And the subs were baffling – we were more coherent before the subs and looked the likelier to score. But then a silly foul in the middle of the park and… See above.

5 points to Hibs & Livi isn’t good news – we’ll face tougher teams.

My bad mood has lifted after that…………especially after watching that magnificent display on Thursday night. Yes a bad day at the office both mentally and physically. Let them have their moment in the sun, we’re still the team to beat. Anywho i hear they are in a shit load of trouble financially.

  9. we played our ace, if all else fails throw on JH, oh how our ryan likes a challenge but usually they are fair not reckless.

  10. Shelling balls from our own half to our Centre half pushed up for last 10 mins..against Livy.

    Absolutely shocking .

  11. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Bad day today for Celtic but I’ll get over it.

Credit where credit is due, though, to Sevco.

    £6,000 very well spent

“This is by no means the first time errors of judgement have been made in matches involving this official and clearly there is an underlying issue which requires to be addressed.”

    Hail hail

  12. There was probably about a dozen things that went wrong today which all added up to a perfect storm. The red card so early and to our MVP was clearly pivotal to that. The team selection itself was OK i thought and a statement that we wanted to get the job done. We started slowly as they kicked everything that moved. You can see why the likes of Rodgers and KT ran for the hills from this shitshow League.

Being sent away from home for 5 out of the first 8 League games is at best odd. The trouble is you cant call it out after the game.

Anyway Collum made it all about him as usual and whilst the red card was correct the speed at which he drew the card was telling. He was his usual petty and inconsistent self thereafter. I thought we simply got it wrong tactically from that point. We should have dropped into a better shape and relied on our quality to bail us out. The subs were poor again and we took too long to remove Brown and too long to start hitting Bayo with long balls and getting on the scarps. The set species were as usual pitiful.

Ajer and Julien were given a hard time, the former was all over the place and looks like he’s not in a good place at the moment. For all the talk about the squad it looked wafer thin today. Rogic and Griffiths are never fit, in my view not acceptable. Johnston is a miss too. Ntcham is an empty jersey away from Celtic Park as has been proven time and time again.

Edouard, Forrest and Jullien disputed signs of only turning up when they fancy it. Neither impressed.

Today you miss guys like KT who lay it all on the line and give you a 7/10 performance week in week out.

Had the Huns went down to 10 today they would not have capitulated imo. Before we kick a ball again we will be 5 points behind. Hearts will capitulate as usual. This is a Country full of Huns and it shows. We are in a dog fight.

I feel as low today as i did at Hearts a couple of years ago when we went down 4-0.

  13. Setting free the bears. Brought me back to see a team that should have had substantial investment to the team

But we have a cost cutting ceo

  14. If you are a Celtic supporter, you should accept every game as a one off game, we got beat by a team that played to win, they were the better team on the day and desrved the three points.

The sending off was the correct decision, the tackle was bad and Cristie should have not made the tackle, our keeper made a terriblee mistake for the second goal, he was out of position when the opposition player headed it over his out streached arm missed the ball. He should have stayed on the goal line.

Celtic, like any other team are not infallable, and you have to accept the result on the day,it’s hard to take, but that’s the game of football, at the end of the season if Celtic don’t win the League then I shall join the rest of you and moan like hell, but until then, I think Celtic will win the League and hopefully the quadruple quadruple.

Hang in fhere, the game still goes on.

  15. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Wonder how the bookies view a possible Hun league win.

With extreme reservation , I would think.

    We shall see.

  16. Man City are 8 points behind Liverpool today – that is a genuine crisis.

They’ve won 7 from 8 and we write them off at our peril.

The fixture list has been kind to them – all their toughest games on paper have come at Ibrox bar a trip to rugby park.

December will tell the story of whether they will last the pace. In the meantime we need to win every game. The next slip up must come from them.

  17. SFTB

what brought me back on today of all days?

to give my opinion on what i watched .

  18. Poor performance from us today, i really don’t think the pitch helped. and 2nd goal was Larsssonesque to be fair. I’ve watched the red card a dozen time and while a bit reckless I dont think it was a sending off honestly.

But as we have always known, do not give the ref the opportunity in the first place. To be fair, I grudgingly through gritted teeth, say Lvi deserved the win even though the are so fekkin agricultural.

Time the SPL clubs got these pitches banned.

Off to listen to some good Blues and hope Hamilton do us a turn.

    KINGLubO

  19. Oh, another thing and i’ve said it hundreds of times on here but we are crying out for a silky midfielder like Lubo, David Silva or Luca Modric..

Just this minute got a phone call from a good mate phoning from hospital tellling me he has had a bad stroke, only 52 as well.

  21. Paul67 et al

Maybe the Bhoys thought they were playing a weakened Lazio and not the mighty Ferranti Thistle/Meadowbank Thistle/Livingstone, a club on the verge of liquidation not so long ago, a club who to the best of my knowledge have never beaten us under any guise. Well they have now. I mentioned after the Hibs result that there would be a lot, not of days like this, (there won’t be) but of games and places like this. Livvy are brutal, but they are in the top six of that latest masonic creation the SPFL. Cork Celt listed an alternative team the other day, a completely different team to the one that beat Cluj. Why are these players at Celtic, if they cannot get a game against Livingstone?

  22. that’s two back to back away games that were the opposition have got in our faces and we haven’t coped and dropped points , our central pairing do not like to be harassed and it shows.

  23. Bullied and lost any midfield battle, same as Hibs game

Losing midfield opens the deficiencies in our defence, instead of protecting

Need a change in team structure ( midfield) for these type of games

Also struggle to create many chances in losing the midfield battles

  24. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Are there any battled hardened real Tims still on CQN or have the

    huns and fcukwits taken over?

  25. glendalystonsils on

3 points and a big boost in goal difference for the huns just as I expected . Thats why we needed to be prepared for the kind of game we faced today . I never felt we were, even before the red card.

  26. Incidentally we need to pull our players from the FtSFA. Squad

Give a small break, and regroup at Lennoxtown, not that Hamdump place

  27. Does anyone think that it would be a good idea to practice free kicks and corners during the international break.

They really are embarrassing now. Worse than last season

  28. Pub conversation, would you take a Gdansk visit over 9.

Hmmmmmmm. I thought the 2003 season was the most enjoyable I have witnessed .

    Have not answered yet.

  29. if arsenal can tell the sfa to leave a player out because he hasn’t played a lot of minutes on the park and we should be telling them the same applies to our players who have played to many.

thought the free kick today near the end when we had 3 players standing over the ball debating what to do was the worst yet.

Those are answers to the question of “What are you wanting to say?”

They are not answers to the question posed- “Why post that today but not when we are winning?”

  32. NL makes some baffling decisions IMO.

    1. Brings Nitcham in from the cold when he’s not been a regular for months.

    2. Drops Sinclair and favours LM and others and they do nothing when brought in.

    3. Sinclair has not been seen for months and is brought in by Lennon and he scores against PT and today he’s not on the pitch and Hayes and co brought on before Sinclair.

    4. Drops Elhamed and brings in Bauer just another baffling decision from NL.

    5. Shved scores a peach of a goal and the next game he’s nowhere to be seen.

Honestly today’s result proves to me Neil Lennon has not learned from previous results when he was our manager years ago and his persistency with giving his favourites game time even when they’re playing shi*e

Neil up your game or go it’s as simple as that I’m afraid and take the bank balance guru with you.

  33. onenightinlisbon on

As someone who voiced doubt about the appointment of Neil, i was delighted to eat my words at our fantastic start to the season under his guidance. Today he is , in my opinion, free from any blame for that performance. The players let him down. Yes the red card was important but surely we have the players to beat Livingston even with ten men. The game seemed like a rerun of the Hibs match. A technically poor team managed to stop us playing with the end result no points. Disappointed but still hopeful that we will prevail on most fronts in Scotland this year.

  34. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Take Ibrox out and their form is miles better than ours.

    Sevco – Pld 7 W7 GF 26 GA 3 GD +23.

    Us – Pld 7 W5 D1 L1 GF20 GA 7 GD +13.

Scored twice in last three away matches.

But I’m not worried because Paul assured us that Celtic would blow Scottish football away this season.

    Great financial results this week.
