Can we please have a coaching team who have the first clue about how to organise a defence ?

Utter shambles . Bad enough playing with 10 men (I don’t count Christie’s non contribution) then 9 when Brown gives Collum the kind of opportunity he loves .

I wonder if Desmond would be so hesitant to act if any of his other businesses were going down the tube?

We struggled to pick up the pace of the first half (fitness issues again?) but the manager leaves substitutions until 13 and 10 minutes to go!?

  2. Ryan Christie wants away, he’d be no loss. Saying that, not many get pass marks. New manager before our next game is a must, even if its a temporary measure, NL cannot survive this.

  3. We are witnessing a West End Farce, but if its possible, with worse actors and script.

This season really does beggar belief.

  4. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

    Well – what to say?

Any Karma we have deserved over the years (hubris) has all been delivered in one, huge lump – that’s the silver lining (assuming I’m not being over-optimistic).

Board needs to act…but we have been saying that for years about many, many things – and they have singularly failed to do so. Not holding my breath.

Have they said anything about the interview yesterday – either to back Neil up or to confirm he was acting off his own bat??? Nothing???? Utterly pathetic.

Anyway – Biden’s in – will watch CNN to cheer myself up later…once I see the post-match interviews.

Hamilton at home next? Surely a chance for first victory of the year – whoopee…

  5. At the bottom of a deep hole and Lenny demanding a new shovel levels of pathetic. Just when are the Board going to step in and do their job? This needs to end…..now!!

  6. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    It’s been a blast.

    But it’s over.

Had hoped to see even just glimpses of a (delayed) post Dubai bounce or an outpouring of pent up frustration after last week.

Absolutely dreadful performance symptomatic (IMHO) of a lack of coaching, communication, structure, fitness, tactics and detailed preparation for the game environment.

    Basically? … the basics.

Someone in here recently used the phrase “muscle memory”.

    Bang on.

    Time heals all wounds Neil.

You will always be welcome back at Celtic Park.

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

  7. Am seriously considering cancelling my subscription to Celtic TV.

Despite the fact that I live in Germany and that this is my only access to games,

I’m so despondent at what has happened since BR left, I’m thinking of cancelling.

    That’s how bad it is.

  8. ONIL, Hundred per cent agree, Lennon never a Celtic man ! Only interested in money ! He will never get another managers job never ! Actually think he might be staying out of spite ! Please please go !

  9. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 20TH JANUARY 2021 10:14 PM

Lennon only cares about himself and his pay off. If he actually gave a **** about us he would have acted with some humility months ago. Arrogant to the end. Never is this guy a Celtic legend, never.

Dont agree……Granted he should’ve never got the job and i’m just as angry as the next. They’ve hid and hung him out to dry and if this is the case………….

Lenny fuk it take them for everything!

  10. Back when we were throwing points away in europe but still in the race I was thinking NL would have the self awareness and decency to be part of a consenting change for the best of the club and our aspirations for ten in a row. Now !!! In this crazy lockdown time I’ve bought 3ST for no live football, can’t get to the pub, meet mates and wealthy players sunning it at my expense. They can all get to !!! Neil you should have known better when you felt like shit during the summer – the clouds never lifted did they??

  11. glendalystonsils on

We are as liable to finish second with a new manager as we are by keeping NL until the end of the season .

Do it now . My eyes are bleeding watching this .

  12. Celtic is like a drug to me… Has been since I first saw them live 1970….. I’m nearly as scunnered tonight as I was after the raith rovers cup final…… I don’t Need the pain and hurt….. If I saw RC tonight it’s quite possible I’d crack him….

  13. Lubo we need you on

Ryan Christie , this lad is mince, he cant track ,tackle ,pass or take a corner . What message is it to the younger guys when he stays on the park .What does he offer apart from a 1 in 50 wonder goal ?Without doubt the most frustrating player I have seen in a celtic jersey since Vidar Riseth!!

  14. Some poor performances tonight but how on earth Christie and McGregor played the full 90 minutes is beyond me. I actually forgot McGregor was playing until I heard his name after about 40 minutes.

The Duffy and Bitton combination makes me squirm every time they have the ball.

Ajer was easily our best player and I would give pass marks to Elynousi as well.

Surely time for Neil Lennon to go.

  15. Lost for words

Cannot beat a Livingston team with 7 reserves, and bring on 2 players making debut, then another that’s been out on loan at east fife

    And Celtic

Yip Celtic with a full team, cannot win

    Woeful, absolutely woeful

  16. Lennon isn’t entitled to a “years” money. He’s entitled to four months.

If the board sack him, it’ll cost what – £200,000? The longer he stays on, the more damage we do to next season.

  17. @ ONENIGHTINLISBON on 20TH JANUARY 2021 10:14 PM

    I agree.

Its funny that Brendan is the rat for leaving Celtic for more money (notwithstanding the way he was treated by the CEO),but at least he left us in a strong position on the field – on our way to the title and in good form.

Neil has known that it’s over for a while. Losing 8-2 to Sparta reserves and failing to get a shot on target at home to Sevco should have be a sufficiently clear situation that the situation was irredeemable.

And yet, here he is still in situ in the midst of going for 10IAR and on a historically poor run of form. If Neil cared about the club and achieving 10 he would have tendered his resignation long ago.

I guess Neil is just like BR then, just in it for the money and himself. Why no criticism of Neil for his motivations?

  18. Lennon never a Celtic man….ffs people GET A GRIP!!!!

It’s over it was a helluva ride, records have been made and a marker laid. Upset ? of course i am i’m fekin’ ragin! but things change, others like me of a certain age group have been here many times.

Go kick a cat or something…..well maybe no!

  19. I guess we did not learn anything we did not already know this evening.

Sad for Neil that it is ending like this.

All Celtic posters on here, don’t take the poison from the many TRFC posters.

It has been a great few years, looking forward to the next stage.

    Take care all.

  20. The midfield played to type tonight.

IS had a goood first half then ran out of steam at 60 minutes — why / is our conditioning that bad.

CMcG — another Cheshire Cat performance / just did not want to get involved apart from a few sprints to keep his Opta stats credible.

RC — Absolutely shocking / horrible performance.

He did little and what he managed he did badly.

DT — Was the class player on the park but he was surrounded by lethargy and sloth.

  21. Great , sore head again. This is horrible and i can’t understand why we are still putting up with this as a club

    It was a mess in pre season;

    Brown awful

    Defence looking shaky

    Fitness iffy

    Huns looking good

It never at any point got sorted.

Messing with formations, refusal to play 2 strikers, refusal to sub, refusal to bring strikers off bench other than replace one

We thought that the 442 in Dec was the way to go; we shut ourselves in the foot with Dubai

So despite all those bad decisions , why did we not have 2 up front?

Why bring on a Brown when we need a goal? Why leave on Christie when we needed Frimpong in there? Why remove Ajer MOTM ? Why Klimala on his own? Why Johnston with so little time and not a direct threat at that stage of the game?

The ref did nothing wrong, We got an offside goal and got away with a pen. We caused the 2 goals and the red

PS saw the second goal again and i can’t see why it was Taylor’s man – apologies for blaming Duffy earlier

  22. prince of keepers on

Defending is hopeless, as has been the case all season. the 1st attempts on goal in each half the only 2 on target the whole game are goals.

I still have no idea if GK is any good because I have never seen him make a save in 6 months as every ball into our box ends up in the goal.

Brown stupid + unnecessary gives Collum the chance to do what he likes doing. Subs baffling and dont even start on Christie, an absolute imposter. Need a change now!

  23. 7 wins in 22.

I don’t think I’ll live long enough to see a Celtic manager with a worse record.

  24. Credit to Livingston by the way. They have a plan and they stick to it. They defend as a unit.

A good team will always do well against a less well drilled opponent without good structure.

We did it in Europe to teams with better players in the past. Maybe even including last seasons group stages.

But we have been arrogant this season. And we are paying the price.

One of the co commentators said we were ensuring a marathon of suffering. Feels like it but really it is a relatively short period. If we are still there in 9 years then I’ll consider it a marathon.

But the immediate challenge is get winning again. Get the structures right. Start the transition. Why wait now.

I’m done for a while. See you all in better times.

  25. CaddingtonCommon on

Broony decision a yellow at best, at worst he threw him a dirty look.

Anjer and Sorro both carrying injuries, no option but to go off.

Turnbull was shot in my opinion and I am not surprised considering the shift he put in and his Covid problem.

Griff was his usual self for the time he was on. Not many on his wavelength.

Overall assessment a draw was a fair result since we had 10 men And they had 12.

    Stay Safe

    Hail Hail

  26. End of an era…yep…but it’s been one hell of a ride. If this is Lenny’s last match…thank you for all you’ve done for us as player and manager but all good things come to an end
